    Have to Point This Out

ok, so from day to day, I keep hearing that states are slowly denying DLs and State IDs to DACA applicants. you can google the DMV for the state that you live in and find out what it needed to obtain a DL or State ID. the governor of AZ, NE, and MS are saying that they will not issue DLs and State IDs to DACA applicant. Most states will accept an I-766, which is an Employment Authorization Card and a SSN card. Which as DACA applicants we will have. Now i know, that there are 3 different types of SSN cards. We issue three types of Social Security cards. All cards show your name and Social Security number. The first type of card shows your name and Social Security number and lets you work without restriction. We issue it to: U.S. citizens; and People lawfully admitted to the United States on a permanent basis. [*]The second type of card shows your name and number and notes, “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION.” We issue this type of card to people lawfully admitted to the United States on a temporary basis who have DHS authorization to work. [*]The third type of card shows your name and number and notes, “NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT.” We issue it to people from other countries: Who are lawfully admitted to the United States without work authorization from DHS, but with a valid nonwork reason for needing a Social Security number; or Who need a number because of a federal law requiring a Social Security number to get a benefit or service. As DACA applicants, we will have a Restricted SSN. Which we can still use to obtain a DL and/or State ID Now for the I-766 card. i have attached what it looks like. No where on it does it say what type of application you filed in order to get one. Which raises this question. How will these states that are planning on denying DLs and/or State IDs to DACA applicants going to know that they are a DACA applicant? Unless the USCIS, the DHS, and the SSA all plan to revise their documents having them state that we are DACA applicants, then there is no where to differentiate between us and other people who have received an I-766 and a SSN. just something to think about while everyone is waiting. (sorry if i babbled)

    Sam I am

Hi, My name is Sam, I was only 6 months old when I was brought here. After a while I visited Mexico again when I was about 8 or 9 years old, returned a few months later and I've been here since I returned back to the US at the age of 10 or so. I am now 19 going on 20 in two months. I've been waiting for an opportunity like this and now I'm so excited to do things and get things done. Although I am nervous and freaking out a bit, as long as I get the chance to change things, I am willing. Wish me luck! XD -Sam

    Keep Track of DACA Process

So I got this idea to help follow and track progress, add the following info to your signature FROM YOUR PROFILE. If you need help, just reply here. Use the following format: Date Application Sent - The Lockbox the application was sent to - Mailing Method (Express, priority, certified) etc. - Date delivered - Date acceptance letter of application received - Date of I-797 C Notice of Action (Application Approved) - Date Biometrics scheduled - Date of EAD received - You can color it, fix it however you would like!

    2 questions, please help!!

dinorah94: There isnt a specific order to mail your documents. I called USCIS last week, a few minutes before I mailed my application to inquire about the same thing and they said theres no specific order. However, remember that if you filled out the G-1145, that will be the first page. G-1145 is to inform you via text and email when they RECEIVED your applications, not if they ACCEPTED them. This is the order that I sent my things in: Photos Money Order G1145 I821D I765 I765WS Copy of translated Birth Certificate Notarized letter for birth certificate copy of original birth certificate copy of school ids, consular id, ss Card( this is if you have it) copy of hs diploma copy of unofficial school transcript copy of recommendation letters from counselors, principals, teachers (optional) I sent this in to show my type of character copy of volunteer certificates copy of bills showing Ive been in the country the past five years copy of bill showing I was present in the country june 15 2012 On Part 3 of the I765WS, that space is available for you to put whatever you feel would help your case or would explain better why you need a job. I think that you putting you need a job to save money for college, should be acceptable. Hope this helps.
