    Howdy! My name is Christian.

Howdy from Texas! Well to start in the beginning, I was born in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. I was abandoned shortly after; the reasoning I've come to believe was because of birth defects of my legs. I was taken in at an orphanage and soon adopted by my now parents (U.S. Citizens) after they saw an article of me in the El Paso Times. (I was just under a year old) Everything seemed wonderful to them the day the Mexican Agency said they could take me home, that everything was done. They were wrong however. They failed to tell my parents the need to file visas to reclassify me as a citizen. And worst of all they didn't tell my parents to get an Adoption Decree, finalizing the adoption. So all to say, the adoption was incomplete. It was when my dad went to get a social security number for me that this whole debacle came to light. Now here's the real kicker. When my parents went back to the agency to attempt to fix all of this, they agency folks said they had no records of me. Say what now?! Yeah. So I've been stuck in a rather unique situation. Undocumented from a botched adoption. All the immigration lawyers I've seen over the years have always told me to just go back to Mexico to fix it. But that's obviously not an option. I've been the states now for twenty-three years. Mainly lived in the south, Texas,Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and now full circle back into the Lone Star State. Life has been good to me for the most part. But not being able to legally work or drive, with school as expensive as it is, I haven't been able to really start life. It's like being a horse at the Kentucky Derby but someone's keeping your gate closed. DACA is the first thing to come around that's able to help me. A real blessing. It's not a total fix but it's a start. And I'll take what I can get. I'm a Dreamer. And it's nice to be around others that have the same fears and frustrations, hopes and dreams. So here's to the next step. Y'all are in my prayers. Peace easy and take care.

Hey uhm, It is ok to vent here. We are all here to help out as much as we can. Just a few ideas that came to my mind as I was reading your post. Could you go to your former employer/current employer and ask for letters of how long you have worked for them? My employer wrote me a very simple letter stating I had worked for them since 2008 and I never presented any check stubs or anything. The letter had the business contact information. Also, did you go to the doctor, dentist or maybe attended some kind of program since you entered the country? Bank statements? Online purchases with paypal accounts or amazon accounts? You should also get transcripts of the schools you attended. Keep trying Feel free to message me if you need help with your application or something. Best wishes!

    high school diploma

Keke, Is the online school accredited? If it was some sort of online home school that fulfilled the state requirements it could work but the only thing is you must make sure it is accredited. Otherwise, get your GED.

I agree, Alejandro, it's too the approvals are such a small number... This makes me feel very grateful that my process went so quickly and smoothly... Praying for everyone else's quick responses!!

aww don't be sad try to find as much proof as you can. You only need to prove you were here for five years (June 15, 2007 - present) that's what a lawyer told me and that's just what i sent. So don't give up I'm sure you'll find enough proof. Wish you the best!! Good luck and if you need help we are here to help you!

That's because they could get in trouble for hiring an illegal immigrant, specially if you were a minor. Hope your situation get better soon and don't ever stop working to archive what you want in life.

If I'm lucky enough to get approved and obtain the EAD before the New Year, that'll be like the best Christmas gift ever. Don't lose hope y'all. Waiting isn't always fun. So my advice is do what I do, find a good book series and start reading. =]

Go to a better college, try to get my AA before transferring to a 4 year institution, then I'm gonna try to get a job in something that relates to my major and a lot more stuff, but i'll see how it goes . Can't wait to get approved and get my EAD!!

What I find a bit surprising about this data is the number of people approved, low. And the small number of people from my nationality, more south koreans than us.... =0

I already received my EAD. So far what I've done is acquired my SSN, and recently applied for a state ID. After I receive that I'll go apply for my DL. We're nearly approaching the new year and what I'm doing now is preparing myself on all aspects to finally go out there into the workforce. I'm looking to start the new year like never before, college also awaits me. I have big plans

What do you plan to do after you get your EAD?

Hope your words are heard my friend. We all are anxiously wanting the dream act for permanent residency. After receiving my EAD I will just go apply for a SSN Can't do much with just the EAD hehe

I am going to celebrate my socks off at clubs here in Miami. Then, when the hangover is gone, prepare and take the test to get my CCNA(Networking). Obviously get my license and apply for jobs >.<
