    Coming Out Once APPROVED

I don't think it will change a thing. Once approved, I will continue to live my life in more fulfilled way but I personally don't think it warrants me to tell anyone anything if it's not their business meaning that the person who wants to know is not a well wisher or I'm not close to them like that. Ironically, I help other DACA students with their apps and although sometimes I want to share my own story, I can't mostly because it's a professional environment. In my view, the people who didn't know before don't need to know now.

    Hello my Fellow Dreamers

Hello, my name is Jerzaim and i'm from texas. Like many of you i'm really happy to be able to meet people that can relate to my everyday life. I'm thankful for the opportunity that we have been given to finally come out from the shadows and truly be able to live the dream many of us have had for a long time. I came here at a very young age and grew up here just as any ordinary kid did. My parents are hard working people and I have dedicated my life to replicate their hard work. Like many of you I have ran into many obstacles through out my life but have always tried to overcome them. Although I was a little skeptical of the DACA at first I decided to apply. I was able to obtained my bachelor's degree this past may and currently working on my master's degree. This opportunity will open a 'Enourmous' door not only for my education but also to be able to accomplish so many other things that a few months ago seemed impossible. I am now awaiting a response to see if I get approved.. In the mean time i'll keep myself busy and also hope to make new friends in the process... Good Luck To Everyone, A FELLOW DREAMER

I'm curious on how people will use their EAD once they get it. Honestly, I can really feel everyone's anxiety! When are we going to be approved!? We all know how it feels to have a life without direction. Like that "What now?" feeling. But thats starting to go away. I plan to go to the Air Force in a couple of years. I just graduated Highschool and once I get my EAD I plan working full time at WetnWild;D And I plan to be moving in an apartment with a couple of my amigos this summer. I just hope in these upcoming years that congress will pass the dream act so I can enlist into the Air Force.

    Linkin Park Irisdiscent Dream Act

Hi all. About a month and a half ago, a midst all the deferred action going ons, I decided to make a music video / mini-documentary about what we've been going through. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. So many stories that I went through in order to make the video come together. I hope I did them all justice. Enjoy it!

    Coming Out Once APPROVED

I'm from new york city and people here are friendly to undocs so I tell people the truth if they ask why I have to pay for tuition and such,But if you're not comfortable telling people and you know that you don't trust a person enough to tell them don't. Just to be safe I guess. And even if you do, I really don't think they can stop the paperwork process being done by USCIS anyways.

    Coming Out Once APPROVED

I think that conversation should happen to those friends that really need to know. I came out to my friends in high school and one of them made fun of me every opportunity she got. Ironically she ended up marrying a guy in my situation. Needless to say she became more sympathetic to the issue. A teacher who I confided on actually tried his best to help and even wrote me a letter of recommendation for when something like this came up. I should say it will be something that I will be eternally grateful for since he was a highly decorated Colonel in the Army. Some will understand why your are so guarded and cautious, others will look at you in a different light, others might pity you and some friends you might lose all together. I

    no lawyers get approved faster.

I got a lawyer because I wanted a professional who knew the ins and outs of the immigration system. My lawyer sent me to get a background check before he even started my process. He told me straight out that he was not going to waste my time and my money only to get denied. That I appreciated.....but it is true that the day you see your lawyer is not the day an application is sent out.

Still - Waiting, waiting and waiting... Creeping also, but mostly waiting... This wait is ridiculous! Am I going to be like a national record?? Damn you Nebraska! I bet they have 3 people on staff and 2 of them are on vacation until next year!

    Check Your DACA Case Status

The USCIS centers seem to be pretty inconsistent with DACA. Waiting is the only thing left for all dreamers considering it is a new policy and process. I wish you all the best. Let's hope everyone's case gets resolved ASAP.

    Check Your DACA Case Status

At least you can check...I can't check mine. I filed Aug 15th, App received Aug 17th, Bios Sep 13th, and here I am still waiting and not able to check status online. No worries... We will eventually get approved...sooner rather than later!

    waiting sucks

Ok - So I gave USCIS a call today... After holding for 15 mins, I was able to talk to a representative in the first level of Customer Service. I told the guy that I wanted to do a Service Request, since I had called USCIS before about my query, sent a message to NSC-Customer Connect, and had not received any answer whatsoever. I was transferred to the next level of Customer Service... After waiting for an additional 35 mins on the line, I was finally able to talk to another Rep higher up in the food chain. She was very blunt and would cut me off from time to time. I mentioned my issue and the fact that I was not able to access my Case Status online. Her answer was, and I quote: '...You will not be able to access your Case Status online...' Even though she showed a 'prickly' demeanor at the beginning, she was nice overall and she asked me to confirm my address, receipt number, and Alien number (I had one from a previous case I filed with USCIS; check my post from Introduce Yourself to know more about it). After confirming that information, I asked her if I could have any info regarding the progress of my application. She said that everything was in order, that they had my case on file, and that the reason that she wanted to confirm my mailing address was because she wanted to know where I would receive my acceptance letters. It took a load off my shoulders to get some positive feedback, even though I am not able to check my case status online like many of you can. So it goes without saying that if you have been waiting for a while, and if you haven't been 'dinged' (declined), you will eventually get approved. However, it wouldn't hurt if you harass them from time to time. Even though we are not 'fully legal,' we have the right to know what the hell is going on. Hope this post and the info provided helps more people aside from myself. Cheers!

I already received my EAD. So far what I've done is acquired my SSN, and recently applied for a state ID. After I receive that I'll go apply for my DL. We're nearly approaching the new year and what I'm doing now is preparing myself on all aspects to finally go out there into the workforce. I'm looking to start the new year like never before, college also awaits me. I have big plans

Checking your USCIS.gov status tooo much?

Ive also noticed it depends a lot on what service center you were sent to...it seems more people are being approved faster at the California Service Center...Im at the Nebraska Center and I havent seen too many approvals from there.....darn Nebraska, it seems all theyre doing is sticking corn husks up their ***.... just relax and be patient...I'd start worrying if it was 2 months AFTER my bio appt...
