    Howdy! My name is Christian.

Howdy from Texas! Well to start in the beginning, I was born in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. I was abandoned shortly after; the reasoning I've come to believe was because of birth defects of my legs. I was taken in at an orphanage and soon adopted by my now parents (U.S. Citizens) after they saw an article of me in the El Paso Times. (I was just under a year old) Everything seemed wonderful to them the day the Mexican Agency said they could take me home, that everything was done. They were wrong however. They failed to tell my parents the need to file visas to reclassify me as a citizen. And worst of all they didn't tell my parents to get an Adoption Decree, finalizing the adoption. So all to say, the adoption was incomplete. It was when my dad went to get a social security number for me that this whole debacle came to light. Now here's the real kicker. When my parents went back to the agency to attempt to fix all of this, they agency folks said they had no records of me. Say what now?! Yeah. So I've been stuck in a rather unique situation. Undocumented from a botched adoption. All the immigration lawyers I've seen over the years have always told me to just go back to Mexico to fix it. But that's obviously not an option. I've been the states now for twenty-three years. Mainly lived in the south, Texas,Tennessee, Alabama, Florida and now full circle back into the Lone Star State. Life has been good to me for the most part. But not being able to legally work or drive, with school as expensive as it is, I haven't been able to really start life. It's like being a horse at the Kentucky Derby but someone's keeping your gate closed. DACA is the first thing to come around that's able to help me. A real blessing. It's not a total fix but it's a start. And I'll take what I can get. I'm a Dreamer. And it's nice to be around others that have the same fears and frustrations, hopes and dreams. So here's to the next step. Y'all are in my prayers. Peace easy and take care.

    Encouragement!! :)

To anyone who has a parent/relative that is illegal like us and does NOT know English, I encourage YOU to encourage THEM to learn!! ENCOURAGEMENT!! :) :) Lots of talk has been circulating about possible immigration reform... One of the prerequisites, though, would be that they have to know English, my mother was always a firm beleiver that if you will be residing in a certain country, the least you can do is learn the language. So, I encourage you to get them to take classes (lots of organizations offer English classes) and if they cannot find any or cannot afford it or are too embarrassed to "go to school at such an old age" (I get this a lot! lol) then encourage them to get an online program or DVD program, something. Finally, if all else fails, YOU take the initiative (if you're up to it) and see if there's anyway you could teach them English... Our parents/relatives really deserve this opportunity and I wouldn't want ANYONE to miss out on this opportunity simply because of the language barriers... I have no certifications from anywhere but my local church gave me some English books and I also looked up course material online and have begun to teach English classes in my community... IF ANYONE wants guidance or thinks that they would be up for such a task, contact me!! I am more than willing to help and think it is SUCH a great cause!!! There's no better feeling than knowing you made a difference in someone's life! Best of luck!! AND please do encourage people to step up and take the initiative to learn the language so they aren't left behind!! PLEASE! Keep the faith and pass it on!! P.S. When my mom learned English, it boosted her self esteem and made her MUCH happier! Furthermore, she is able to do a lot more on her own. She thought she signed up for English classes but actually signed up for GED classes!! (lol) and now she speaks it very very well... It really honestly does help to watch shows in English and put Spanish subtitles on or vice versa!! And also, she learned in early 2000ish sooo Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child, and Nsync really helped!! hahahahaha!!

    I am Ignacio

Good day, I am Ignacio and this is my story. I came to the US from Santiago, Chile in 07/1995, when I was 8 years old. My family and I came here legally but stayed Illegaly. The immigration topic was something that was avoided by my parents allways and that's probably the main reason why I was illegal even 10 years after we got here. It wasn't really a hot topic until I graduated from High School as I faced a very unpleasant and uncertain future. 4 years after I graduated I met my ex wife and we decided to get married so that we can go on with the plans we had with eachother, since there is no way someone, that arrived at age of 8 years, was going to have the life of a typical illegal immigrant. We got married and I applied for AOS through her. Things didn't go well and we broke up a year ago, before my AOS was approved and she withdrew the I130, which automatically withdrew everything else, without me knowing about it (we didn't break up in bad terms but she still decided to screw me over). I didn't find out until I tried to renew my EAD that expired in august that she did that and I literally went crazy, since on August 3rd, I was fired from my job for not having an EAD. I did all my research for the DACA Application and decided to send the application. Sent on 9/12/12, after about a month of finding evidence of residing in the US since June of 2007. My application was in total about 70 pages and is the best application I could send, I am very proud of it and hope everything goes well. I want to give everyone here my best wishes, on whatever application you are sending. And if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time. Thank you for taking the time to read what I wrote Ignacio NingĂșn Ser Humano Es Ilegal

Congrats you are one step closer! I had the same cool aid smile when I went in. Except the guard had to take a double look. I have an I.D and it has my husbands name on it. also my name is Brook....he just took one look at my daughter and put two and two together...lol! Let us know how things are going! We are here to support, encourage, and uplift each other when we hit some discouragement.

    Coming Out Once APPROVED

I told my BEST friend a few years ago and she was amazingly supportive about it and it was so great to have her as a shoulder to lean on throughout my process and someone else to celebrate with when I got approved... My boyfriend also knew a few months into us dating... As for the rest of my friends, I'm not sure if I will tell them personally... one of my friends is majorly conservative and anti-illegal immigration (her family is hardcore republican)... But soon I believe my sister and I are coming out in a few major newspapers in my state because of a certain situation we're working on in our town that we're concerned about... I spoke with some civil rights groups and they want to put the info in the paper and asked if we were willing to disclose our own stories and we said yea... A lot of ppl in my (extremely small) town know and love our family... At the same time, though, a lot of them really do believe we're all here legally... So I am a little scared about some reactions to the news but at the same time mi mama always told me to hold my head up high and that ppl have to like me for who I am so I will definitely go through with it... But as for being scared and feeling its not necessary for ppl to know... I definitely understand that too!!!

What do you mean by papers? What were you trying to do down there in Mexico? For immigration, once you turn 18 you start to accrue unlawful presence, that is why they aren't letting you back in. How long is your punishment?

    waiting sucks

Hey, who cares what others say about you? People judge others all the time because they have nothing better to do than run their mouth, just ignore them and continue with your life. There's a positive side on being accepted after all your friends/siblings.. when it is time to renew the EAD, yours will still be valid for extra days or weeks.. you will be able to learn what's really needed to renew and how your local EAD Office works. You can just take what they want and get it renewed right away. Let's hope next week is your week

    no lawyers get approved faster.

Doesn't make a difference in my opinion. I've seen people that filed their applications without a lawyer that are still waiting since August 17.

Your First Car after Deferred Action

well i probably cant afford a benz, bmw, camaro and all that. I would probably just get a honda or toyota. Something affordable yet reliable. But if the gas prices decrease, then maybe something more fancy...

Find a easy job! Lol well I dnt care how easy it is but hope I get paid good money! Help me move foward with my lil family. Also try to get my license. Most important thing go to college wich its not gonna be easy because having kids its gonna make things a lil hard but I'm gonna work hard to accomplish my goals.
