1 pointHi all. About a month and a half ago, a midst all the deferred action going ons, I decided to make a music video / mini-documentary about what we've been going through. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. So many stories that I went through in order to make the video come together. I hope I did them all justice. Enjoy it!

1 pointI understand every case is different and people are scared and worried about sensitive stuff like this. But from when I did my biometrics today, you should be able to walk-in to your biometrics the next day you get your letter. I saved myself 16 days by doing it early. So I recommend you doing this as well. Only downfall is that you might have to wait a little for them to call your name because other people have appointments scheduled that day. Good luck.

1 pointI take no credit for this guide. What Happens After You Send In Your Forms? This will be a guide to what happens when everything for your DACA case goes as planned. You have sent in your forms I-821D, I-765 and I-765WS (G1145 for those that want the Email/TXT notification of application acceptance). So what are the steps and events that happen subsequent to this event? Assuming your package made it to one of the different Lockbox locations as specified in the instructions. You should receive an electronic notification or an electronic I-797C Receipt for both I-821D and I-765 forms. (5-7 days after they received your package at the Lockbox) The previous steps would mean that your forms had all the required information, that your forms were properly signed and that you included the correct filling fees. Your case has now been routed to one of the four Service Centers (Nebraska Service Center (LIN), Vermont Service Center (EAC), California Service Center (WAC), and Texas Service Center (SRC)). All service centers have different processing times for the forms you have sent; depending on their queue of pending applications you might see different processing dates. (This guide will detail more or less my case routed to LIN) You will then receive the physical receipts of the same notification (if you did not send form G1145 then this will be your first notification of your case), I-797C for both I-821D and I-765. (5 to 7 days after the Service Center received your package) The next step in the process would be for background checks as part of the decision process. USCIS will now request for your biometrics (fingerprints). You will then receive a subsequent I-797 Notice of Action receipt in the mail with your appointment date for your biometrics to be taken at your local Application Support Center, ASC. (7-10 days after the Service Center received your package) You have an appointment, the date arrived.* The ASC has successfully taken your biometrics/fingerprints, your photo and your signature. Depending on your background checks, whether your record is clean or not so clean, the following will take less or more time. Your biometrics are sent to the FBI (who usually returns your record within 24-48 hrs) and its forwarded to USCIS for them to do IBIS Name Check and IDENT Fingerprint Check as part of the background checks. The Biometrics letter after your appointment, notice the stamp. You should then receive a TXT (If you have Signed Up to USCIS Portfolio) showing that your I-765 application has been accepted and your card has been ordered for production. This change will also appear in Case Status online. (6-15 days after the date you did Biometrics at ASC) Congratulations! Your case has now been accepted! The adjudication of I-765 means your DACA case has been approved. You should then receive a TXT (If you have Signed Up to USCIS Portfolio) stating that your I-821D has been approved and a notice has been mailed. (1 day after your I-765 EAD goes into production) You should then receive a TXT (If you have Signed Up to USCIS Portfolio) stating that your Employment Authorization Document (EAD), has been mailed. (1 day after your I-765 EAD goes into production) You should then receive a TXT (If you have Signed Up to USCIS Portfolio) stating that USPS has picked up your EAD. (1 day after your I-765 EAD goes into production) Then you should receive a First Class Flat Rate Envelope that contains I-797D which contains the approval notice and the EAD card itself. (4 days after I-765 EAD goes into production) Front of I-797D Back of I-797D As you can see from the process above the time is streamlined and very efficient. I cannot guarantee that your case will take the same amount of time, because that is unrealistic, every case is different, and as time goes by there might be less or more realistically more applications for USCIS to go through. I sent in my application through Priority Mail on August 16 and was approved on September 11, which was less than 30 days. But, others have not had the same luck, so this is just so you can see the steps the case must go through. I cannot put a timeline for a case that might be sent a Request for Evidence (RFE) or a Notice of Intent of Denial (NOID) because I did not receive one and I have not read of any. This is case-by-case basis and if all the odds are in your favor you should expect the same result. This is also under the assumption that you qualify for this benefit, if you are committing fraud then you risk being denied and your case being referred to ICE. I take no credit for this guide.

1 point25 years old and was approved in less than 20 days, I don't think age has anything to do. I'm pretty sure it is the common names and background checks that are causing delays.
-
1 pointi dont think age does matter. i mean i'm 29 and have been approved already. there are a few others who are in the late 20s that have been approved so far as well. your case is process as it is received. it's not put in a pile by age or country of birth or anything like that. it sucks that there is no rhyme or reason to the process and it does suck that it takes so long to get approved. if it's been after 30 days, then you can file an e-request to find out the status of your case. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do
-
1 pointi dont want to scare you with what i'm going to say but here it is. it could have something to do with your fingerprints from before. now whether the actually charge of "entering w/o inspection" is dropped is a question but also the fact that your fingerprints are in the USCIS and CBP system, it could have thrown up a flag. Once your fingerprints are in the system, they are always in the system. my mother has been in the immigration system since the late 70's. being patient is hard, trust me. i'm sooo impatient myself. something else you can do is file an e-request with USCIS. maybe that would help too because you dont get much info from the customer service number. here is the link for the r-request. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

1 point1-800-375-5283. This is the # but I dont understand why youll be calling them, youre at the waiting stage....theyll review your application and approve it...you need to be patient and wait for them to contact you.

1 pointi have wells fargo and a secured cc through them. for me, i put a deposit of 500 but only use no more then 30% of my $500 limit. i found that knowing that i have a limit helps me keep on track with my cc. i only use 30% of my limit because the credit bureaus look at how responsible you use the line of credit on your card. i use my cc for small things, like gas or lunch, then pay it off fully every month.

1 pointLuna, I don't personally think you should worry. Besides that one blip sounds like you are an exemplary candidate for Daca. I think like all of us you have that worry about not being approved. Like Sanchez05 said it will come! Good luck!
-
1 pointWendy, yes i was sent back to Mexico, but i was never charged for anything my lawyer said they usually dismiss those cases who knows RR I stayed 5 months due to my grandmother illness ! Sanches thank you I just want to know about the others and see if they have anything on their background that might be affecting them as well.

1 pointI was about to say...when do you sleep? Now that you explain it, it makes more sense. I agree that school and work may seem like a lot, and sometimes it does get overwhelming, but it is well worth it. Sleep, and free time is usually our sacrifice. Good luck to all Dreamers/ Daca applicants going back to school!

1 pointJose G. You should pin this post or post it as a new topic. Very helpful information for those still waiting, I think.. It's unfair that ppl get so many different responses for how long it will take to get an answer when in reality we just don't know... I thought at first it depended on your education level (high school, college, etc), then I thought it depended on how long you've been in the country, what service center you're at, how many applicants live in your area, how much evidence you provided, if you applied through a lawyer or not, how neat your application is, and so many other factors.... But the reality is (I think) that there is NO designated processing time for the I-821D and consequently for the I-765... and a lot of ppl. who have been applying earlier are getting later responses. The reasons are unknown and I think your post is very helpful. It's not necessarily good news (that we don't know how long it will be) but it's definitely the truth.

1 pointMy sister and I will both keep our crappy cars! lol Pontiac Grand AM and Mercury Cougar... But it is an AMAZING feeling getting pulled over that first time (the cops in my town know we didn't have licenses before and they like to stalk us) and being able to shove our licenses in their fat faces!! lol But another amazing thing will be to be able to register the car under our own state and being able to choose a better insurance plan (we found one for ppl without papeles but the rates are ridiculous!) and of course being able to buy Mama a new car! Family car!! SUV!! Helllooooo leg room for family trips!!! XD
