Envious of those with a chance

I have been in the United States for 13 years now. There is nothing else that I detest than to see someone who has the opportunity to be something and make someone out of themselves but take no action. As an immigrant, people don't understand how limited we are to goals, dreams or life itself. Being an immigrant has pushed me back multiple years from my 'to do list' or my 'what will I be in 5 to 10 years from now'. Being approve and given the chance to work legally or drive safely without having to look behind my shoulder periodically, would be one of the best things that could happen to anyone in our situation. So many paths will be open to us and I feel as if I can't waste anytime. I want to proof to those that have seen me as a failure because they have no idea of my situation that given the chance, I can be the best person I can be. I want to show my family that I want to better myself and live a better life than the one provided not just for myself, but for them as well. There are so many things I have been wanting to do for so long, that it infuriates me to not be able to keep moving forward with goals, dreams, life itself. Don't take opportunities for granted and take full advantage of them. We never know when another chance will come along. Don't be that person who will be asking themselves "what if" just do it. Let's show together that United States needs us as much as we need them.

    NO MORE DREAM ACT??? :/

No Itzel! settling for less is inexcusable! Not attaining citizenship, but residency is like saying, I rather be tied up in bondage and tortured then to be dead. There's people that have family to reach out and places to travel in the world. If anything pray. As a DAca applicant, this is not enough, but the start. All things are possible.

Does anyone know what a NUMI letter is???

I would not even bother attempting at retrieving your credit from the fake SSN. If I were you I'd leave that alone. Since faking a SSN is very, very bad.

    Hi everybody

Gracias Rawf, and as for my case I'm gonna vent here a little basically my lawyer mailed out mine and my brother's package on the 27th of August and we didn't get any kind of receipt from the USCIS whatsoever, so finally a few weeks ago I called my lawyer to ask what's going on and it turns out that the check arrived torn so the lockbox mailed our package back. Long story short, we were waiting like idiots for months meanwhile nothing was happening with our case. Anyway my lawyer finally mailed out our package again on the 20th of November and we still haven't got a receipt yet but my lawyers assistant said that she called and everything is fine but they have a backlog of receipts right now and that we should get it soon. And if you're wondering why I didn't ask my lawyer sooner instead of waiting for months well basically we didn't really know how long we were supposed to wait to get a receipt and we didn't know anybody else who applied for daca and I didn't find this forum until just about three weeks ago when I realized something was wrong and I started doing a whole bunch of research to see if i could find answers. So that's my daca story.

I think so too that some officials work more efficient than others. By the way after reading that link regarding the process time for approvals that Sinae posted, very interesting article by the way, i feel bad for those people with real common names and last names such as the Lopez, Rodrigez, Martinez, Hernandez, Garcia and more...Does it mean they are more likely to be waiting forever for their approvals? That's crazy!!! lol

I don’t think much will change with me. I have a great professional job that pays well. I graduated from a great college a while back. I had DL from a Hawaii… no legal proof was needed years ago… For me just the peace of mind of having it!! In addition, starting a life where I won’t have to get clever to work and live here in the US. No more explain why I have an out of state DL!! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Date Application Sent: September 07, 2012 Lockbox: Chicago, IL Mail Method: USPS Flat Rate mail w/ delivery confirmation Date Delivered: September 10, 2012 Date of I-797 C Notice of Action: September 12, 2012 Service Center: Texas Date of Biometrics: Walk-in September 24th, 2012 @10:00am Date of EAD Letter/Email/TXT Approval: Oct. 24th at 3:45 PM Applied for SSN: Nov. 2, 2012 SSN Received: Nov. 10, 2012 Converted my DL to IL: Nov. 16, 2012
