If I am informed correctly, the calgrant is only available for 2 years so use it wisely. Personal advice, or at least what I plan to do, as a community college student I will apply for the 2013-2014 application. This way the cal grant will help me when I am at a CSU/UC. I assume that the financial assistance will be greater at those levels. I'd rather struggle paying for community college which now should be easier especially with the CA Bog Waiver. And Tavo is correct. The online application for the 2013-2014 academic year does not open up until January 14. However, you can download the paper application and mail it as of today. And if you look around the website "http://www.csac.ca.gov/dream_act.asp" you will see that you can begin the 2012-2013 application. Note: 2012-2013. I am assuming that the applciation would be for the concurrent academic year. But as you know, we have already completed one semester, so I don't know if that would count as a year. I would recommend watching this video " Its regarding the CA Dream Act. Its kind of long, but there is some good information.

Me too, im still on initial review i literally check every day to see if it changes. i went on november 5 , guys we should totally meet up if we live so close i thought i was alone lol now i feel better hahaha

BTW - Nacho, have you been to Pamela's on SW 40th st and 80 something ave? It is a Chilean restaurant... I had a wicked nice Jaiva, and some postres which were amazing! The ayuya was also nice

No hay de otra Jcarlos08 mas que mantener la calma! Es algo chistoso e interesante que un simple permiso de trabajo pueda cambiar tanto nuestras vidas. Sin embargo la actitud positiva y amigable que he visto en todos los dreamers, es por si solo algo mas grande. Pase lo que pase, esta actitud positiva es la que nos va hacer salir adelante y crecer como personas.... Buena suerte!

Ojala tengas tus papeles para entonces yo me acuerdo que eso lo tenian en mi escuela pero no podia aplicar me sentia de menos por que mis amigos trabajaban y manejaban. Pero mantente postivo que en estos dias nos tocan las buenas notocias.

My biometrics appointment would have been today and I'm glad I went early since I wouldn't have had a ride. Anyone I could have asked is at work right now.
