    Long Overdue Forum Section

So I've decided to create a forum section for news and information about this forum. What you will find in here is things that have to do with the forum and the blog. Also future forum contests and giveaways will be in this forum as well. Any questions, comments, reply below.

The application being accepted at the lockbox just means you sent in the correct forms and the payment. It doesn't mean your evidence was accepted or that your case was approved. Anyways, using the school ID will depend on the ASC that you have to go to. Some will let you use a school ID, others won't. If you can, you should try to go before your appointment date and ask if you could use your school ID for your biometrics. If you can't, I would make an appointment for a Matricula.

    Hola!!

Oh so you're one of the few people that got the DACA Approved, but are still waiting for the EAD Approval. They should process both at the same time. Which center was yours sent to?

I came here when I was 8 from Trinidad and really up until my sophomore year in high school I lived a normal oblivious life. The last 3 years has been the hardest years of my life because more often than not, my mom and I couldn't make ends meet. But I think that we're all a lot stronger and more determined than other people our age because we know exactly what's trying holding us back and we refuse to let it. It's a bit silly but something my mom always told me that has gotten me through every difficult time in my life is: God doesn't give you anything you can't handle. Personally I volunteer a lot and that helps so much. I see families who live in shelters, people who don't have food on thanksgiving, people with illnesses who can't afford medication, and children who never get anything for Christmas. They're all American citizens. Here I am, without any documentation, and even at my most difficult point I have more than a good percentage of Americans. It's a struggle but we can do it for ourselves and for our parents who made the sacrifice for us.

You guys I feel like we should compile our personal experiences on what is like to be a young immigrant brought to the US without a choice in a memoir. Some ignorant people think it is black or white when it comes to illegal immigration but we are evidence of the gray areas in this issue. Living a lie is not easy especially when people ask simple questions or even when just filling out a simple medical form. I feel like for those who choose to keep it as a secret -myself included- every single day there is something that reminds us of the uncertainty and mistery of the life as an illegal immigrant. I am so thankful for this opportunity. It has been such a long time since I felt real.
