1 pointNotify IRS about your new SSN & rescind ITIN Individuals who are not eligible to receive a Social Security Number (SSN) instead get an Individual Tax Payer Identification Number (ITIN). An alien individual can't have both an ITIN and a SSN. Therefore, once you receive your SSN (e.g., after getting an EAD), you will have to rescind your ITIN. After you receive your new SSN, you will have to send a letter to the IRS ITIN Unit requesting a rescind of your ITIN. The SSN will become the primary number and must be used for all future filing purposes. The IRS will void the ITIN. All prior tax information under the ITIN will be associated with the new SSN. Send a letter to: Internal Revenue Service ITIN Operation P.O. Box 149342 Austin, TX 78714-9342 Enclose the copies of your ITIN and SSN. You will then receive a letter from the IRS confirming that your ITIN was revoked and to use your new SSN for all tax purposes. source: http://www.immihelp....etting-ssn.html ************************************* How to Transfer Your Credit History to a Newly Assigned SSN When you are assigned a new Social Security Number (SSN), your previous credit history will not automatically transfer. Credit history is not kept by the Social Security Administration. Instead, the three major credit bureaus, Experian, TransUnion and Equifax, keep their own records of your credit history. Therefore, to transfer your credit history you will need to notify each of the credit bureaus directly and provide evidence of your claim. 1. Contact your current lenders and inform them of your newly assigned SSN. They should begin to report your credit under your new number. 2. Type a letter to the credit bureau, explaining that you have a new SSN. Keep the letter simple and to the point. List all previous numbers you had credit under and any previous names you used. Request that your account be listed in your new credit report. 3.Print four copies of the letter, one for each of the three credit bureaus and one for your own records. Sign the three copies for the credit bureaus. 4. Address one envelope to each credit bureau, affix a stamp and write your return address. The three credit bureau addresses are as follows: Equifax P.O. Box 740241 Atlanta, GA 30374 Experian P.O. Box 2002 Allen, TX 75013 TransUnion P.O. Box 1000 Chester, PA 19022 5. Make three copies of the document you received from the Social Security Administration informing you of your newly assigned SSN. Attach one to each letter and put each letter in an envelope. Mail the letters to the credit bureaus. 6. Wait a month or two and request a free copy of your credit report through AnnualCreditReport.com from each credit bureau. Verify that your credit history has been transferred by each credit bureau. If it has not, call the credit bureau in question to sort out the problem. It’s the law. According to law, a man must register with Selective Service within 30 days of his 18th birthday. Selective Service will accept late registrations but not after a man has reached age 26. You may be denied benefits or a job if you have not registered. You can register at any U.S. Post Office and do not need a social security number. When you do obtain a social security number, let Selective Service know. Provide a copy of your new social security number card; being sure to include your complete name, date of birth, Selective Service registration number, and current mailing address; and mail to: Selective Service System P.O. 1 pointHi Everyone!!! Havent been online as often as I'd like...work and getting ready for school has kept me occupied. Approval from DACA is guarenteed to open many new doors and possibilites for all.. Well, heres what this post is about...taxes... This is my first legal job ever, before DACA I worked under the table and never filed taxes... Well this job, every paycheck withdraws taxes... Ive been reading up on doing taxes and the different categories..nonresiden and resident.. DACA didnt provide us with any type of legal status, however Publication 519, the US Tax Guide released by the IRS, categorizes us as resident aliens because of the time we've been here (page 5).. They even have this little table that helps you determine what to file under.. I will be filing as a resident as indicated by Publication 519 because of the time I've been here in the US, I mean we obviously had to meet that requirement to get qualified for DACA.. For any Android users, theres a free app called "TaxCaster" from Turbo Tax and gives you an estimate of how much you'd be getting back..its really user friendly.. Now all I have to wait is for my W2 from my employer at the end of Jan. and get back some of those taxes... Heres the link to Publication 519: http://www.irs.gov/p...rs-pdf/p519.pdf Any questions/comments feel free to do so..we're here to help each other out and Im sure I can learn something new.... Itzel...

Why ????.
Rawf reacted to splif0clock for a post in a topic
I feel the same way but I am sure it has noting to do with luck. Some just have to go through some prolonged processes than others so be patient jasmine your approval will come soon. By the way, stressing about it doesn't do you any good so I suggest you keep your self busy and go about your normal day to day activity . G'luck -

1 pointSad to hear that Virginia is not ready to move forward on helping to educate ALL students.

1 pointFile using your SSN, your ITIN can no longer be used after you obtained the SSN. You are required by law to send a letter to the IRS notifying them of your new SSN, and for them to rescind your ITIN. So if I were you, I would go to every place where you are using an ITIN and request it to be changed to the SSN. I worked in 2012 using a fake ssn and filed the federal and state taxes using my real SSN, I was already approved and refund (so happy) is on the way.

1 pointI know two friends who were approved today and they applied early August. USCIS is still working on a lot of August applications. A service Request won't help much if your case isn't past the expected processing time for DACA which is 4-6 months. If you submit a Service Request before that, they will just tell you that your application is still within the expected processing time and if you don't hear anything by the time the 6 months are over, to contact them again.

Taking Too Long?
ruthie_sue08 reacted to antoniorios for a post in a topic
Hello everyone my name is Antonio and i live in Lubbock, Texas. My application was sent Sept 17th, accepted/recieved Sept 21st. Got reciepts and letter notices from Nebraska to be put on biometrics for Oct 23rd. Those were taken and now as of this day my case is still on Initial Review on uscis.gov. Should i be worried? Ive been told its taking longer but i am just curious and still praying everything comes out okay. My friend which sent hers Aug 28 got her acceptance Jan 26. So September people should be getting their notices right? Hopefully!!! -
