    Hello Everyone!

Hello Jose. Welcome to the forum. I am from Boston. I am 4months and 2 weeks into my wait time. I have just received a letter saying my stuff was tranferred to Nebraska, which is apparently nothing to be worried about. Some people have been waiting for more than 7 months I believe, when they call, it turns out not being a very informative conversation. Well, it is quite a load of applicants to handle, that must be why they are tranferring certain cases, they know they will be late, so, better tranfer now. I have gotten quite piece of mind after finding this forum here, as you have said, calmed down because I was freaking out as well. Everyone here is really nice, any doubts, concerns, or new developments in your case, let us know, so, then we can share the knowledge with the next person it happens to, won't be so lost. Again, welcome.

    I Called Uscis Today And.....

I called today because last time I called they told me to call in a month so I call this morning and after I spoke to 4 representatives I heard the more confusing information of why my case is taking so long. The first, second and third representative told me to wait... still under initial review so I ask to speak to another agent and this is what she told me , it seems like your case haven't been assign to an officer as yet, I said excused me but is been 5 months since you received my application and she told me sorry but no officer hasn't been assign to your case 0-o I was confused so that's all she said to me so I decided to call back again just to make sure I understood right, and tis time this time this representative name jose told me that I should be expecting any news in the next 24 days!! lets see what happens in 24 days!!

    Penalty...

Honestly speaking from experience there were times I wanted to best the shit out of people for messing with me but I had to remember that I'm undocumented and sooner or later it would catch up to me so I took myself out of the situation...once you get to a certain age you know right from wrong .they should know that the government does not look at them the same way so they should be careful Wat they do....now if some one messes with my kid the wrong way I will have no problem taking my punishment lol

I agree with msminci. Although we all share some similaraties every case is still different and should be review in it's own special way. No matter what, technically we've all broken the law one way or another. Using false documentation or illegally being in the state. But one thing I do believe is that if we're early childhood arrivals and you've been in this country and have been productive, an asset to this country, followed the laws as any citizen or resident does and have faught to get an education and achieve your American Dream then you shouldn't be punished. We had no say in being brought into the country, the struggles we've had to endure to reach where we're at today are/were tough. So there's no reason why I believe we should get a penalty or be punished. Now, of course there's situations in where some around us have commited crimes, gotten DUI's, ect. I do believe some of these cases should be looked at a bit more rigurous. Remember, it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. The last thing we want is the finger pointed at us for others actions. I think I write a lot lol, I apologize. Just my two cents.

    Hello Everyone!

How's it going guys!? I'm Jose and I just recently came upon this forum, which by the way has been very informative & helpful. I live in San Diego. Much like many of you I'm currently attending college, I have an Associates in Business and I'm working on a Bachelors in Math. I pay for my education out of my own pocket so it's been a long and tough process but one that I will not give up on. I do whatever I can to make ends meet and to get by. I'm here to learn and hear about everyones findings and expiriences as well as to share mine. My application was received on Sept. 4, 2012 and I went in for biometrics on Sept. 28, 2012. I haven't heard anything since and I'm still patiently waiting. Still in Initial Review. Getting slightly nervous being that March 4th will be 6 months into the process. Upon my research I noticed that some of the members have been waiting about the same time that I have so it slightly calmed me down haha.. Anyways, I'm also here to meet new people! Anyone from San Diego!?! Hit me up! Good luck to all of you & Congradulations to those who have been approved, make us proud!

Hey Dreamers, My I-821 application was approved online on 2/21/13. And when I checked my I-765 it was still in Initial Review. Today I received my I-821 approval letter in the mail, but still no I-765 approval letter. Most people get both of their approval letters in the mail on the same day, so that worries me a bit. My applications were received on 12/16/12, and I had my Biometrics appointment on 1/28/13. It hasn't even been a month since I had my Biometrics, so could that be the reason why my I-765 has not been approved? Also, can I still apply for a SSN with just the I-821 approval letter? Thanks :-) ****UPDATE**** - My I-765 was approved yesterday (2/27/13). It took less than a month after my Biometrics. I wish all of you the best, and keep DREAMing

If you haven't be approved yet be patient. I know it's easy for me to say that because I was just approved but trust me I didn't think I could wait any longer and I just kept calm and waited. That moment when it hits you is worth the wait. Good luck everybody!

    I Called Uscis Today And.....

He said that because your case is still within the expected processing time of 6 months. Your 6 months will be over in about 24 days, but as you may or may not know, some people have been waiting for longer than 6 months, so there is really no guarantee that everyone will hear a response within that time frame. Good luck though, hopefully you do get a response soon. Thread moved to Dream Lounge

    Penalty...

i do believe that it should be a case by case basis. however, after i certain age, ( i think it's about 8 to 10) one needs to be accountable for their actions. whether a person is over the age of 21 or under the age of 21 and gets a DUI, should know better regardless of age. i also think those who are already "in-line" and have no criminal record should be processed in front of those who may have a record. serious criminal records should exclude those from applying for CIR. the one thing i do not agree with is the whole "back taxes" aspect of CIR. i mean, for those who have worked, whether under a false SSN or paid in cash, they should pay taxes, (if they haven't already). but for those who havent worked, why should those be punished for not breaking the law?

    Hello Everyone!

    Penalty...

I think it should be on a case by case basis. For example, an 18 year old gets a dui , the law passes and they are now 30 and have stayed out of trouble. I think everyone is entitled to one mistake but then again their cases should be behind those cases that have a clean record. Its a tough one....

    Penalty...

Well I think everybody is going to pay a penalty no matter what I mean it's always been like that. Now if you have committed any of the things you listed above I think that if they do pass the law there are going to be requirements like the ones on DACA or maybe a bit more strict. So depending on the requirements many people won't qualify and I don't think it'll be fair if those people get it at the same time as others that haven't committed any crime other than work illegally.

You should have nothing to worry about. Did you happen to submit copies of your income tax? If so, chances are they'll link the number you provided to that and it'll just work out in your benifit as another piece of evidence. & if you're that worried about it, find out what center has your application and try to obtain a number you can call and speak to an agent and simply explain the situation. I believe I read somewhere that JoseG was able to contact someone through email or something like that. You might want to try asking him. I'll keep an eye out for any information I find on this. I'm kind of curious now, I'll let you know of any of my findings.

Take it easy man. I'm at 5 months after biometrics and almost 6 months since they received my application. Let it take it's time and before you know it they documents will be in your hands. I've been telling everyone to start planning their every move after they receive their documentation so they don't waste any time. You should do the same. Stay positive.

Congrats! You're half way there! Just be patient for a little while longer. You will most likely get approved for the I765 as well. I've been waiting since Sept. Let it take its time.

    Hello Everyone!

Thank you Gezinha. Reading you comment as well as many others I've encountered has definitely given some peace to mind. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you can obtain your approval and documents soon. Please keep me in touch about your case too, hopefully that transfer speeds things up for you!
  25. 1 point
While both applications are usually approved together, being approved for DACA doesn't guarantee your I-765 will also be approved. USCIS has a 90 day processing time for the I-765 after your I-821D application has been approved. No, you can not apply for an SSN without the EAD in your hand.

I did do a bit of waiting at first. They took like 3 months just to send me the damn RFE but after that things moved quickly! Which I'm very grateful for.

You enter your I-821D receipt number on the USCIS website to look up the status of your application. https://egov.uscis.g...d/CaseStatus.do or you can Sign-up for Case Updates and you will be notified by text or e-mail whenever there is an update to your case.

    Girls Smoking

I don't understand why people smoke. Yet again, I've never tried it nor do I want to, so I'll probably never know. My cousins smoke and I hate it whenever they pull out a cigarette they ask me if I want one...I don't know how many times I have to tell him no for him to stop asking lol. I dislike the smell of it too.

    Girls Smoking

I find girls that smoke on the streets very trashy, same with dudes. But it is their life and as long as they are far away from me I won't say anything, now if the air changes and I begin to smell it I report it. A lot of people get away with smoking in places they are not supposed to until reported.
