I have been APPROVED ! I'm literally over here jumping up & down from excitement. I'm so happy. God helped through this & never let me lose faith! I'm praying for all y'all who haven't been approved yet. Don't worry it will happen when you least expect it. )

Don't you guys hate seeing a U.S citizen out in the streets, or being gangsters. Not appreciating their legal status to become someone greatful in this great country. Or even worst seeing our own dreamers out in the street being gangsters, like really we are here to become someone our families will be proud of. Not causing problems to our coummunity. Although, some "peolpe" in this country will never admit this country is this powerful thanks to us immigrats. We shouldn't leave that image from our community. In addition, I have to admit MOST of us are doing great things with our lives in this country. As a dreamer, I have to tell you I feel proud to be part of the "DREAM ACT COMMUNITY" I don't have the privilage to know anyone in this forum personally, but when I read someone of your story's, and I see all the hard things each and everyone one of you been through makes me get so mad at people that throw away their lives in the streets. Like I said I proud to be part of this dream act community, and I also feel proud of ALL OF YOU that put our name high with the great things you are doing in this country. I just wanted to let you guys there are people out there who appreciate your hard work just like my family feels proud of me I feel proud of all you doing great things.

Yes,I also got approved on monday for my EAD and today i got approved for DACA. Just check tomorrow and you might be approved. Good luck and also congrats.

I believe something like this isn't something to take lightly. Through the hard work and devotion of many we've been granted this opportunity. In all honesty, there are some circumstances in which I believe that one should be eligible. Take your example, someone who made a mistake and got a DUI when he or she was 18 and is now 27 and is applying for the DACA. I believe that if in that time spand the person has matured and has shown to become a productive member of the community then I believe they should be granted the DACA. Obviously if they continue on a bad path they should be denied. Now, in approving those with a past history I believe that there should be a zero tolerance rule that would revoke your DACA if you commit any crime. Thus preventing people from taking advantage of this great opportunity that has finally been available to those of us who want to make the most of it. Again, just my two cents.

You need your EAD and SSN to apply for a Driver's License or ID in California. The only way you would be able to get a Driver's License with just your I-821D, is if your I-765 gets denied. Then you would have to go to the Social Security Office and tell them that your I-765 application was denied and that you wan't a letter from them saying that you aren't eligible for an SSN because you don't have an EAD. Then you take that letter, your I-821D approval letter and I-765 denial letter to the DMV and you can apply for an ID and DL.

I'm with Pswa83 on this one. If I get to be able to work and stay and travel in the country while I wait, then so be it. Farm labor workers must be included in the CIR, they are the ones that do the jobs that "Americans" wont do.

I have friends who rather sit at home & do nothing & they are citizens! If i had the opportunities they had i would be going to a university to get a career! It infuriates me that the government doesn't see that all we want is a chance to show them how great we can be with just a little help from them!

As an Illegal Immigrant who have lived in the US illegally for the past 14 years, I have no say about who should get citizenship or not. I am a human being and I know I make mistakes, so I will not make a statement about who should and shouldn't get there papers because of a petty crime they committed in the past. The way USCIS is handling past criminal history for DACA applicants sounds reasonable to me, and I am sure those same people who came up with the requirements, went through a rigorous steps to come to that conclusion. I will not question it at all ! As for your, " DUI charges (over 21), robbery, assault, domestic violence, people who owe child support, arrested for drug possession" reference, I would counter it with this -> "Creating, forging or altering almost any document, for the intent of fraud or making money, is considered forgery and is subject to state and sometimes federal laws and penalties for individuals caught forging federal documents". From what I am understanding, the crimes you listed and the crimes you, others, and I, have committed are more incriminating than the ones you stated for your example because we forged a federal documents. Enough said ......

From my understanding, Bio-metrics background check only takes 7-10 business days according to FBI site. So, I won't be surprised about your application being approved within 20 days of completing your bio-metrics, what should concern you is your I-765 being approved before your I-821D application. What I am thinking here is that maybe there is a lag with the system keeping your I-821D status up to par. I would give it 5 - 7 business days to see if it changes, if not wait until you get your EAD then contact USCIS about it. Congrats by the way, I hope its just a system failure to why you are experiencing this hick up. Go out and celebrate, OSHA !

This is the user's reyd timeline. As you can see, his status says his I-765 was approved yesterday, 14 days after Bios. Not sure whether his I-821D was approved or not though.

I also sent my w-2 forms for the last 5 years and a couple of check stubs. I was also using a fake ss number with my name. I got approved 2 weeks after my biometrics. Good luck everyone!

I understand your point of view, but also keep in mind we did not invaded anyone's country. We were young and did not have a saying in the decisions made back then. We learned English, some of us have been paying taxes while illegal, contribute to communities+, the only rule we broke was work using fake papers because we did not have any other option, and so much I could name. Keep in mind I'm referring to DACA applicants and not our parents. 8 years is way too long, for gods sake I would be 35 and too old to even do something good with life, but I can't complain that much since we have the EAD to work and build our dreams while our documents are processed. I think they can do so much better than this, they just want to make it long and painful.

Great, but she forgets that no one is asking for it, all we want is the chance to be able to get out loans and pay for them. If you have no SSN, how in the world do you apply for a loan for college? I just despise people who make judgement without being in the situation. And if people in CA have the opportunity, it is not because they begged for it. How many Americans quit school everyday and don't even care for a better future? And here we are, practiacally begging to pay taxes, to have a SSN, to contribute to the country, and the judging does not stop. And "fairness" is just ridiculous, we are not asking to step in front of everyone else, we are just asking for a chance, as a great majority of us came to this country through no fault of our own, and this is all we know. And then, there is that little thing there...hm, her father came here? Great, so, you wouldn't be born here if your dad didn't come here in the first place? How decent of your father to give you a better life, or you should probably give up your citizenship and go back to your country of origin, because really, you are an immigrant, kind of, right?. Hi Itzel, I agree with Angela. This is my story. So according to my timeline, I recently got my EAD and still awaiting my SSN. I still did not allow this to stop me. The very next day, I hit up my local mall to start sending out those apps. I applied at, Macy's Lord & Taylor Barnes n Noble Express Bath and Body Works I've had 3 interviews with Macy's, Lord & Taylor, and Express. I was late for the one at BB because of the rain and public transportation (I know, bad sign and that's why I applied to the mall. Note: I don't have a car so all these places are in the same mall and 7-10 mins away by bus). Happy to say, I landed all three jobs; two on the spot. These are my tips: Use school extracurricular--I worked in a lab, I was on a Mock Trial Team Use internship experiences (even if unpaid)--I interned at a latino cultural center, community center, and law firm Use community activities (church, cultural organization)--I helped out in the office at church Use sports Use teachers, counselors, friends as references--I used friends and family friends. Some applications want to hear what your co-workers have to say about you. In the interview Make eye contact (very important) Make small talk while the interviewer is settling down/shuffling for papers (usually looking for your application) In retail, compliment them on something (your necklace is beautiful, nice lip color lol) Be confident (sit straight, hands on lap) Answer questions directly (don't blibber blabber lol, I tend to do that in everyday convo) I have had a lot of interviews and have been to mock interviews so I'm just sharing what I learn. Another note: do not settle for less. E.g. I intern at an immigration law firm. I started earlier this year. The position is unpaid. It is a small practice and I am the first "employee." Now, she offered me a position in August and I was excited but nervous at the same time due to my situation. Anyways, I went along and learned a lot about DACA and applied. Then, I waited patiently and prayed for a quick turn around. A couple weeks ago, my employer said that she wanted to pay me $9/hr. SAY WHAT!?! I was crushed. She is definitely taking advantage of me. Although, I do not have a lot of experience. I know her company in and out and the starting rate for inexperienced legal assistant (my title and position) is $12/hr. Anyways, with my mom's counsel and my own intuition, I gave her my resignation letter last week. She was disappointed but accepted and we're still cool. Anyways, long story short, do not allow employers to take advantage of you. You may feel inferior because of your lack of experience but still determine what you will accept and what you won't when applying for a job. Know what the standard rate for different levels of experience is in that industry. Just my personal take! I hope this helps and lemme know if you have questions.
