It's getting harder and harder to avoid a feeling of frustration. I called their 1800 # today and the lady didnt want to create a service request, i had to insist. The bottom line is that there' s nothing that we can do to expedite our request. what i suggest is for each one of you to keep doing what your doing or even enroll in a program or school. First, going to school or learning a new trade will keep your skills sharp. Second, the process will keep your mind from thinking too much about our current fate. This is my second semester at a university and the finals are kicking my ass which is cool because it keeps me from thinking too much about my application. Whether or not i receive deferred action, im still going to complete school and get a good job either here or somewhere else. In other words, im writing my own destiny. I wont let them (uscis) get me down. There, my take on waiting time and looking forward for a positive future.....

I reached my 6 months today since I applied. Sept 20,2012 is when they received my case. I called to ask for a service request and they told me no. The operator was very rude and told me My case could be sitting there for a year. I have no criminal record at all, this is so devastating

Its been a while since sent my application and I'm starting to get nervous as more and more time passes. I have been waiting since Nov 23rd, when i took my biometrics. Does anybody know why some people are getting approved a month after their biometrics while I'm approaching my 4th month without any information? Date Application Sent:October 25,2012 Received Date: October 29, 2012 Date of Acceptance e-mail/text: November 1, 2012 Date of I-797 C Notice of Action: November 1, 2012 Date of Biometrics: November 23, 2012 Date of EAD Approval: Waiting Date of EAD Received: Waiting

Great, then why tell people they can do a request in the first place? I means, did they think that when the law came out 200 people would apply only? Jeez, the stupidity of these office worms amazes me.

    So I Think I'm Approved !

When I get my notice, I am going to restrain myself for couple of days until it all settles in. I am quite sure I know where I will end up if I don't :\ Anyways, I don't mean to brag but East Africans are well known for their hospitality, lol specially Ethiopians. So, once I settle some things on my side, let me know man ... DC got some nice african's spots where we can get shitfaced and chase some skirts. I will be hitting my 7mnt in a wk, hang in there! I see light at the end of the tunnel and I am quite sure it's not a train.

i did both, service request and infopass. Infopass; must bring ID, your country passport, prepare yourself what you are gonna be asking, dress properly and just ask normal and confident like any other civilian looking for information. Oh dont wear too much jewel, or any metal. The security is very strict getting into immigration building. it's like going into an international airport...Nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes our fears are greater than the actual events we face in life. I am not gonna lie to you i was really nervous... Good luck!!

yeah Tavo well said. Keeping that in mind is what distinguish us from all other people who just use extortion instead of their minds. I like the you think because I have same mentality as you. Keep focus on school and don't give up man!!

They didn't respond to the Service Request? If they didn't, your lawyer should have e-mailed the Service Center directly. Calling in if both of your applications are still pending won't really do much, but in this case, your I-821D was approved and USCIS clearly states that they should give you a response within 90 days on your I-765.

I received an email this morning regarding my service request I put in on March 8th. This is what is said: The status of this service request is: This notice acknowledges receipt of your status inquiry concerning your pending Form I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. We recognize your interest in a final review of your case and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. The California Service Center is committed to processing this workload, and will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in an expeditious fashion as soon as available under our resource constraints. So at this point I guess all I can do is keep praying that I and everyone else who has been waiting this long receives an approval soon!!

    Taking Too Long?

Wrong! You need a SSN to apply for a credit card.. And you DO NOT start with a 700 credit score, it takes years to build and establish good credit!

Sorry but I disagree..I think it takes years to build a decent credit score...
