    Just Got Approved!

YES! My EAD just got approved! My case was transferred to Nebraska on March 22nd and on April 4th I got an email saying that my EAD is approved! Does this mean that DACA is approved as well?

it is. however, i am interesting in how CIR will affect those already in line waiting for family visas and approved DACA applicants more then farm workers. call me selfish...lol

How Long Have You Been Waiting

My girlfriend's app was accepted oct 8 and she did her bios oct 29 in Memphis. Her app was sent to the Nebraska service center. All her paperwork was prepared by an immigration lawyer. I tried to file an erequest because its taking so long but the uscis site wont let me. It keeps saying that the app is within the posted processing times. I have been trying to get her to call but she hasnt yet. So we wait..... and hope.

Yeah, just that year. I got a RFE for '09 and '10 and I havent been approved yet, but I sent it last week. I sent paypal records, ebay records and I found some utility bills for '10. But for '09 it was a really dead year for me, I didn't go to the doctor that year, barely did anything other than work. But I bought a lot of stuff online, I am hoping it is enough. And it better be because a few months back there was a guy who was on the news that he was granted Deferred action after presenting xbox payment records, so, anything is good proof as long as it has your name, address and date, I guess. Good luck to us all.

ok PERSONAL OPINION here: Rubio just needs to shut his mouth already. He knows NOTHING about the struggles, that many if not all of us here, have experience when it comes to the Immigration process. He was born in FL and all though his grandfather has gone through Immigration proceeding, Rubio, himself, has never had to live in the shadows of being undocumented. One thing CIR may do is shut down the "free pass" that Cubans are given and make them apply for status just like everyone else. Why is it OK, for Cubans to get a red carpet when they come to the US and not anyone else that comes to the US illegally? Not saying that all illegals should get a red carpet, but if other illegals face penalties and possible barment from the US, why shouldn't Cubans face the same?

It's getting harder and harder to avoid a feeling of frustration. I called their 1800 # today and the lady didnt want to create a service request, i had to insist. The bottom line is that there' s nothing that we can do to expedite our request. what i suggest is for each one of you to keep doing what your doing or even enroll in a program or school. First, going to school or learning a new trade will keep your skills sharp. Second, the process will keep your mind from thinking too much about our current fate. This is my second semester at a university and the finals are kicking my ass which is cool because it keeps me from thinking too much about my application. Whether or not i receive deferred action, im still going to complete school and get a good job either here or somewhere else. In other words, im writing my own destiny. I wont let them (uscis) get me down. There, my take on waiting time and looking forward for a positive future.....

Do DACA students get financial aid?

In CA, those who have attended a CA high school for 3 yrs and graduated from said high school, qualify for in-state tuition. we also now, qualify for private scholarships but we still do not qualify for federal loans and grants. but like Itzel, said, one will need to talk to their school's financial aid department in order to see if they qualify for any assistance.
