As per reports in various TV stations (Telemundo, Univision - among others - and their increased coverage of the CIR bill), the Dreamers - US - will have significant priority. Think of it as a fastpass in Disney - we will be in line, but ours will move relatively faster and will not be as long...

I just wanted to share an analysis of the current bellicose rhetoric taking place between Washington and Pyongyang. Please keep in mind that this was published in RT (Russia Today) as an Op-Ed from Patrick Henningsen - a writer, investigative journalist, and filmmaker and founder of the news website 21stCenturyWire.com. However, it is a nice read to provide another perspective on the ongoing tensions in the region... Also, please keep in mind: Don't believe everything you read or hear from the media Always take it with a grain of salt With that being said, enjoy: http://rt.com/op-edg...-us-danger-279/

The Senate’s Gang of Eight is aiming to release comprehensive immigration reform legislation on Thursday, according to Senate sources. A member of the group said the bill is virtually complete and the plan is to roll it out this week, but he warned it could slip into next week. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a leading member of the group, confirmed the members are hoping to unveil the legislation before lawmakers leave town for the weekend. “We’re shooting for that kind of progress,” he said. One of the last questions to be resolved was over how to handle immigrant agricultural workers. The farm industry and unions were split over the issues of wages and visas. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who has taken the lead on negotiating agricultural visas, said Tuesday a tentative deal had been reached. “There’s a tentative agreement on a number of things, and we’re waiting to see if it can get wrapped up,” she told reporters outside the Senate chamber. Just Got Approved!

YES! My EAD just got approved! My case was transferred to Nebraska on March 22nd and on April 4th I got an email saying that my EAD is approved! Does this mean that DACA is approved as well?

Hi Itzel, I agree with Angela. This is my story. So according to my timeline, I recently got my EAD and still awaiting my SSN. I still did not allow this to stop me. The very next day, I hit up my local mall to start sending out those apps. I applied at, Macy's Lord & Taylor Barnes n Noble Express Bath and Body Works I've had 3 interviews with Macy's, Lord & Taylor, and Express. I was late for the one at BB because of the rain and public transportation (I know, bad sign and that's why I applied to the mall. Note: I don't have a car so all these places are in the same mall and 7-10 mins away by bus). Happy to say, I landed all three jobs; two on the spot. These are my tips: Use school extracurricular--I worked in a lab, I was on a Mock Trial Team Use internship experiences (even if unpaid)--I interned at a latino cultural center, community center, and law firm Use community activities (church, cultural organization)--I helped out in the office at church Use sports Use teachers, counselors, friends as references--I used friends and family friends. Some applications want to hear what your co-workers have to say about you. In the interview Make eye contact (very important) Make small talk while the interviewer is settling down/shuffling for papers (usually looking for your application) In retail, compliment them on something (your necklace is beautiful, nice lip color lol) Be confident (sit straight, hands on lap) Answer questions directly (don't blibber blabber lol, I tend to do that in everyday convo) I have had a lot of interviews and have been to mock interviews so I'm just sharing what I learn. Another note: do not settle for less. E.g. I intern at an immigration law firm. I started earlier this year. The position is unpaid. It is a small practice and I am the first "employee." Now, she offered me a position in August and I was excited but nervous at the same time due to my situation. Anyways, I went along and learned a lot about DACA and applied. Then, I waited patiently and prayed for a quick turn around. A couple weeks ago, my employer said that she wanted to pay me $9/hr. SAY WHAT!?! I was crushed. She is definitely taking advantage of me. Although, I do not have a lot of experience. I know her company in and out and the starting rate for inexperienced legal assistant (my title and position) is $12/hr. Anyways, with my mom's counsel and my own intuition, I gave her my resignation letter last week. She was disappointed but accepted and we're still cool. Anyways, long story short, do not allow employers to take advantage of you. You may feel inferior because of your lack of experience but still determine what you will accept and what you won't when applying for a job. Know what the standard rate for different levels of experience is in that industry. Just my personal take! I hope this helps and lemme know if you have questions.

    Whats Up?!

I wanted to introduce myself, My name is Andrei I came to the States in 1990 from philippines because I needed an open heart surgery and I was accepted by St. Judes to have that operation, I ended up permantely staying my visit after my mom realized we had a better opportunity over here. I was given an artifical heart valve and have to take blood thinners or (anticougulants) for life every 2 weeks I get a blood test to see the level of my blood if its too low I form blood clots with raises the risk of a stroke, which actually happened to me last year. I was paralyzed completely from the right side and took me months to recover. Having the opportunity to change my life with the deffered actions act is a dream come true for me. All my life I've wanted to get a good job to take care of my family since I'm almost done with college and now I have the chance to. I'm really hoping the process is as quick as possible so I can try to help my mother with our financial problems, she unfortunately was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago and she's been battling it ever since I'm just praying one day I we can finally rid ourselves from all of these bills and problems and live the way she pictured us living.

So today marks 6 months of waiting. I called and they told me the same thing, they are currently working on the applications filed on August 31st. Which means since mine was received in October, they still have to process all the applications from september before they can get to mine. That is very frustrating. How can they still be working on applications filed on the month the defferred action was approved. What have they been doing this whole time? I asked to speak to a level 2 officer like suggested and the person that got my call literally asked me what I was talking about since all the officers are at the same level. Really!! It seems they leave you with more questions than answers. The thing they have on the site to calculate your processing time is a joke. They should just take it off and put a big questions mark there because they can't even tell you what they base their fast processing time on. This is too much.

Call them until you get the answer that you need. You are way over the processing time and they have to give you an answer as soon as possible. Try doing a service request as well. Don't stop calling them, honestly don't.

This may be a long shot, but try contacting your local congressman/woman. On their websites, there's a form you can fill out authorizing him/her (or their agents) to look into your case. I did this last week after 5 months of waiting, and my case was just approved on Friday. There's no guarantees, but they can inquire into your case and possibly nudge them to move the process along. In my request form, I explained my situation and gave them my case number. A lot of people don't know but this is one of the functions of a congressman/woman. They are authorized to look into any government agency's processes, especially if a constituent (you and I) ask for their help. Hope this helps!

Hello Itzel. I don't really see a problem with putting your previous work experience. Your possible employers wouldn't go out of their way to get you in trouble for it. I have had a variety of jobs ranging from hostess, office assistant, retail, and the list goes on and on, and have always put my experience and even made it up in some occasions or exaggerated it. I think a few times they did care for experience, but not in general. Getting a customer service job in the end boils down to how you present yourself in the interview. By experience watching my bosses discussing whether to hire an applicant I heard them asking if the person seem happy/smiley/peppy enough. It seems ridiculous, but they just wanted someone that can keep a smile plastered on their face the hole day. So my advice is to not be afraid to put your previous experience if you have any. If you can't shake the worry of getting into trouble and don't want to put it anyways, it still shouldn't be a problem.
