Hello to everyone. Like to start off by saying this is a great site. A little info about me. My name is Luis, I have been here since 1 month old. My mom was pregnant with me here in CA where we used to live and left to Mexico to be along my grandparents (months preg). Then came right back with a 1 month old. I'm 27 now, married to A US citizen and have 2 great boys. Unfortunately we have not been able to apply through my wife since I don't want to leave the country. My lawyer sent my app for DACA Apr 4th and I went in for bios Apr 17th (walk in). The wait starts. My dad was here for the amnesty of 86 but due to issues with his file getting lost he want able to become a US citizen until just recently, it was too late for him to claim me since I was already over 18. I'm already lucky enough to have a great job as I work for my inlaws as a subcontractor. But getting DACA will finally allow me to drive without fear and be able to take my family on a well deserved vacation.

When I saw what was happening the first thing that came to mind was that it was definitely an act of terrorism. I was scared it would be something like 911, then I started thinking about the reform; it would totally ruin our chance! Just seeing these people running around with terror saddened me, 3 dead, but so many more badly injured. I have no idea why they did it, though I think the younger brother was brainwashed by the older one. They obviously wanted to do great harm to this country but aside from this, some type of religion had to be involved. Though I'm glad one was captured alive, at the same time I feel bad for him for being so young and being brainwashed. Either way, this will not take away the damage they did to those people. It's sad how all these events have been accumulating. Boston Bombing, Explosion in West Texas, avalanche in colorado, and earthquake on the other side of the world.

One word "SAD". The story is still too fresh for discussion and most stories are opinions other than what actually took place at the moment of the bombing. Innocent people died and the story behind it is still to vague to me. SAD to see an innocent kid die over violence when he was actually supporting peace at such young age. FYI.... Expect the immigration bill to be stripped down to it's bone.

hopefully the one that is still alive gives some sort of insight on their motives given that they were both very intelligent academically and clearly dont demonstrate any obvious reason for such actions. it sucks that now they are suggesting to bring this incident up during the immigration reform debates. it seems as if when one foreigner does something wrong, we all pay for it, hopefully this wont tip the balance in the wrong direction during the debates and once again immigrants get used as escape goats for a crime that had nothing to do with a reform that we have been waiting for a long time now. i cant imagine how hard it must be for the families that lost a loved one and for those whole lost limbs during this event. i myself have participated in the L.A marathon a handful of times and an attack like this one is the last thing one would expect at such an event because of how much damage and devastation in can cause and it did. my heart is with everyone affected from this tragic incident. i hope justice is served.

The first thing I did was create a group chat on facebook and another on whatsapp to make sure all my friends were alright and safe. I was on my way back home from work when I turned on the radio and they were all talking about it, it was scary because the very next day our public transportation was suspended (I live 45 mins from Boston). I heard the terrorist was on his way to New Jersey, so they decided to stop all the train trips. It is extremely sad to hear of all the people who were injured and had to have their legs amputated when they were just running for a good cause or a charity. I just don't understand what goes through their mind to do such things.

As to the bombers in boston when this happen i thought right away that it was a terror attack my reaction was the thought to my mind of the poor innocent people that where affected and how their life changed in a matter of seconds by influenced evil humans that had the guts to act in such way.I think what triggered the two bombers was probably how they where raised by their families and lack of love that was was not given to them then on top of that they got involved with the wrong individuals that seek for this kind of people to commit their crimes against whatever person, place or thing they hate, they where used kind of like a crash dummies but owell this is what happens when people have serious problems and donot look for help and they prefer to take the wrong path and end up getting killed or ruined their lives forever.

there was a time when i wouldve just said they deserved it and i don't care because they did something bad. but ive been trying to be a better person and be more understanding, so lately situations like this just make me feel bad for the "evil" individual. Yes justice should definitely be served and the one who is still alive should answer for his crimes, but at the same time you just have to wonder, why on earth would they do something that would clearly have a negative impact, not only on the victims but on themselves also. we can all say they were extremists and they trying to strike fear into people's hearts, but is that really enough reason to foster the level of chaos they did on Monday and then again on Thursday night? I'm really upset that any of this had to happen at all, but when you think about itm only 3 people died out of the thousands that were attending the Marathon. This could have been A LOT worse. We should all take that into account and be thankful, but also remember those 3 who lost their lives.

When I found out I was in shock but I did not see it as an act of terrorism I just thought of North Korea. I still don't think they did it, they interviewed the older brother in 2011 how come they didn't recognize him when they killed him. All of it sounds fishy maybe it is just another tactic of the government to shut people's mouths another good example of that would be the killing of Osama is there anything physical that proves he got killed? Other than "pictures" and documentaries, I doubt it. In this case there was videos of them and all but none of that leads the FBI to the actual killer(s). Just because they are dressed suspicious doesn't mean anything. Other than abusing somebody's freedom of dressing up weird if anything That is just my input you don't have to agree with me.

When things like this happens, people in this country turn into complete idiots. I've been reading tons of comments and posts on many social networks sites and I can't believe how racist, stupid and completely irrational people are. Some jackasses are trying to turn this tragedy into a political debate about immigration and some others are blaming Russians and Muslims for this tragedy. The news media on the other hand is over speculating about things that they don't know. The stupidity of many people in this country is what brought us the Iraq war and all of its unconstitutional laws like the Patriot-Act. I'm just going to watch all the nonsense that will be coming out of the media in the coming days. The racist right wingers are not going to derail immigration reform again, i'm fed up with them!

    7 Or 8 Month Club..from Vermont?

they cant tell that theyve just gotten to the august apps, becuase there are people who have filed in Oct, Nov, Dec and even as recently as february and have already gotten approved. I think each officer just gets a random set of cases from various application dates. i dont know why some are taking longer than others but they have to make a decision at some point. hang in there, if mine starts going into the 6-8 month mark ill have to do the same thing. good luck to everyone!

Some people have to use lawyers if they have problems with their records. I've helped many people whos application wasn't going to be straight forward. It honestly was a little confusing to me so I had a lawyer do everything for me. I didn't wanna risk the chance of an rfe or otherwise. But yes, anyone can always post in the forums with questions and problems. There's an answer for everything!

Why are you guys wasting so much money on lawyers? Anyone who qualifies for DACA shouldn't have problem filling out the application form at all, the form is really straight forward and not to mention that it even comes with instructions if you need it. LoL Anyone who hasn't yet filed out his/her application and needs help should really reach out to us or more importantly to the moderator JoseG, i'm sure he'll be glad to help anyone free of charge. ...but no one really have to pay hundreds of dollars for a lawyer and not to mention that even with the lawyers help it won't make your case be processed any faster than those who didn't hire a lawyer. If you don't understand anything seek free help from a friend, a parent or a teacher or drop by this forum, there's a lot of helpful people here.

Even at $100, it seems like a lot to fill out an application. The lawyer can't do anything else besides fill out the application. I might sound a bit harsh, but if you can't fill out a simple application then... well It's just a shame. Grant it, there might be reason for getting a lawyer if you need advise as to whether to file or not. But then again, lawyers want to get paid, so there's a greater chance they will advice to apply for DACA than not. No matter the case and whether you qualify or not. Anyway, sorry for the rant. It's really towards the people who allow themselves to be taken advantage of.

this is exactly why i didnt use a lawyer!!! in the past i have gone to lawyers to help with my complicated case and have gotten no where. $75 here for a consulation, $50 there, all of that adds up. i'm figuring that i could have bought a car with all the money i have spent on lawyers.
