Uscis had received my application on sept 20,2013 biometrics on Oct 24,2013 and since then I waited. I would call to try to get some type of answer and I would never get one, all they would say is wait and sometimes be rude. I've read some cases here were people talk about making themselves sick with depression and anxiety attacks, and yes i had those too. You can't help but to think your application is getting denied because its been sooo long, well at least I did. What I finally decided to do was to contact my local congressman which in my case was Raul Ruiz. Congressman can get into any Federal files with your concent of course. So I filled out the form and explained my situation, printed it out, signed it and faxed it. All that happened on a Monday April 8,2013 and by Friday the 12th I was already approved. Id like to think he helped me. After all you got nothing to lose, give it a try. Hope this helped.

    New Advance Parole Form

I don't get why they wouldn't let you come back in if they allow you to go on AP. That really is fustrating because that's something a lot of us would like to do is travel to see family and so forth. Maybe when the final arrangements are available, they will let us know if there is a forsure reentry.

    Depression

@Yuly87 I can't imagine having that stress on top of waiting to be approved but its not over until its over. You still have this opportunity just as much as the rest of us so don't let go of that hope! That's what keeps up moving forward in life. I know everyone says it, but its true: stop thinking about it. You need to decide, ok.... I'm done obsessing. I've done all I can do. I sent in every single piece of information I could. It's now up to them to notify me. It took over 7 months for me... First several months were brutal but when I did the math and realized it could take up to mid-May... I was like, oh helllll no. I'm not going to be this stressed out and miserable until then lol you really have to consciously make the decision to focus on other things in your life. I love you guys and this forum but I even had to take a step back from coming on here so often because it would give me anxiety. And before I knew it... Random text! It'll happen when you least expect it. The most important thing now if your mental health and happiness! Go on a date girl! Let some cutie pamper you! ;-) ;-)

    Depression

Don't over think it - When gathering the information for an RFE, let alone the application, one has to be calm and collected. One has to pay attention to detail, double checking everything carefully. If this is done, the chances of approval are very high... Therefore, don't stress yourself...the stress is only psychological...just live your life as you had been living it, even before knowing you where eligible for DACA...this will make your life much more easier to manage, avoiding any unnecessary stress - this is very, VERY important... The approval comes when you least expect it...they won't say 'hey, we are going to approve you next week, or tomorrow...' They just approve you and move on... So, cojelo con take it easy, relax, and breathe...

    AFFIDAVITS

Hello everybody, ok so i got a RFE saying i only submitted evidence that i was in the U.S. from 2010 and prior...and that i didnt have evidece from years 2011 and 2012. I had actually submitted 2 copies of 2 different envelopes for years 2011 and 2012 with the post office stamp in the front which shows the date "2011" and "2012" but i guess that doesnt count? anyways...it also says that i didnt answer section 2 of the I-821D but i have a copy of my application and i DID answer those questions so i dont understand why they say i didnt answer them? so i was wondering what can i do because i have no more proof to give them that i was here in 2011 and 2012...i have no bills under my name or checks or accounts or dr appointments..nothing at all because ive just been home. do you guys think affidavits would help me as evidence??

    New Advance Parole Form

I actually came across with the "new" advance parole form, and I say "new" because it still doesn't change anything! Yes DACA can ask for AP but it still not a guarantee you'll come back since most of us DACA have been here all our life's and accrued unlawful presence. It says DHS can revoke your AP if they want to which is totally frustrating! Why give us advance parole if its not a guarantee you'll get back with out a problem ? Although the guidelines are still being finalized for DACA travel document, but so far all I just see is change of words, And no guarantee DACA can get back hassle free. I hope they partner up with DHS and allow re-entry for all DACA. DHS should be the ones granting AP, after all they're the ones who make the decision in the end, it'll avoid all this frustration...

    Rfe Question

Your status should say to expect a response within 60 days after they received the RFE, so no, the time doesn't start over.

I checked on the NCDOT website and it states that you can take a printout. You can see so for yourself here, http://www.ncdot.gov...ense/#documents Click on where it says Acceptable Documents, under Proof of Social Security. You will see it says,"Social Security Document reflecting the Social Security Number" If you apply tomorrow, you may be able to get a printout on Friday.
  22. 1 point
Yes, its possible depending on your state law. In Georgia for example, you must have the physical social security card with you to get a license. You should go to your state DMV website to see the requirements or give them a call.

    California?

Guys - 'Patience is a virtue' and 'good things come to those who wait.' So try to be patient, your approval will come... Remember, USCIS has stated that they are not working 'first come, first served...' Also, keep in mind that the Service Centers still have to take care of other applications...DACA was just a pile added into a pile, that was on top of another pile...sitting on another pile... So just be patient, try to distract your mind and avoid checking your status everyday...your approval will come when you least expect it (that's the beauty of it )

Any One Else Going On 8 Months?

I know the waiting part really sucks, I waited for 6 months. but if its any comfort, when you get your EAD card in the mail, everything after that goes so fast, I got mine on a Friday, applied for a social that next Tuesday, picked up a official form with my SSN on Thursday, and got my drivers licence the Tuesday after. Its kinda funny because I got my licence before I got my SS card in the mail, I guess what I am trying to get across is that when it finally happens and everything starts coming together, how long you waited seems really really worth it, I still hold my licence and stare at it like it was a new born I even got a new wallet to put it in, ANYWAY. Good luck with everything to everybody and speedy wishes to all of y'all!

    7 Or 8 Month Club..from Vermont?

I'm not at the 7 month mark yet but I have no doubts ill get there. I'm at the california service center and I've called a few times and when I used to call before my 6 months were up all they would tell me was that I had to wait that 6 months was the average waiting time. After my 6 months, which was on april 9th, all they tell me now is that they are a bit behind and are currently working on the applications filed on august 31st. I applied in october so it seems they are going to have to go through a whole months worth of applications before they get to mine. I called again yesterday and asked to speak to a level 2 officer and for the second time the person that answered my call told me that there is no such thing. That all the officers there are equally qualified to answer any questions we might have. So I asked for a service request since the website doesn't let me do it and they said that I'm still withing the average waiting time so I can't get one. I don't know if the people working there hate their jobs or hate us but none of the times I've called they've been any help. I understand and I know I may seem arrogant and frustrated and I know all cases are different but if we are all required to send the same information even though some send way more than others, why is it taking soo long?

Cash is king, and credit is the cornerstone of the modern economy... When applying for a CC, watch that Interest Rate and be aware of the small print...a variable interest rate and a huge balance on your account will eat your cash flow in a minute if the IR turns to the upside, well above the rate you were quoted when you agreed to borrow the funds. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! (buyer beware) Don't spend all your funds on candy and stuff, and make sure you can comfortably cover your CC payments punctually on a monthly basis (if you can pay more than the minimum, even better)... And remember CASH IS KING (Finance 101) - don't tie up your free cash flow in the coverage of financial leverage (credit) after all your expenses are accounted for... You are welcome... BTW - I have had Capital One for a while now.

Best Credit Cards To Apply For After Daca

Exactly. Well put! Spending is investing, if we don't invest then companies go out of business and that would ruin the country. Either way like Calidreamer said, "don't bite more than you can chew".
  32. 1 point
I'm a strong believer that Money is King and I like to invest and watch my finances carefully; I saved enough and bought my car cash (it wasn't an old car) did the same with everything I own. It is hard but very possible; the problem comes when you need the vehicle NOW 'cause you have to move from home, work and school that is when credit comes in handy, You can buy a house too But since you aren't "building your credit" you will need to find a mortgage company that does actual underwriting, and you would have to have a good down payment, obviously you won't get too big a loan. Like I said don't bite more than you can chew; I'm sure you have read Ramsey's statistics @ Afrosana you can see that there are people who is able to use CC and be smart about it, so I'm just giving my fellow DREAMers the benefit of the doubt. BTW I could not view the video
