Hey all. I've been a lurker since nov 2012. Just wanted to thank u all for contributing to this forum, espacially for those that read in silence. Just wanted to come out of lurk-mode and say how grateful I am for the guidance of this site. Many of us came to America not knowing what our lives would embark on because we came at such a young age. It sucks but I'm just grateful for a change in "status" (not legal status but being able to have an ID and work legally is still great) and I hope it gets better sooner than later. I applied for DACA Jan 29 2013 and received my Approval notice (April 29) and Work permit today (5/2). I really hope to one day travel abroad but I'm thankful for this first step. PATIENCE IS EVERYTHING WITH THIS PROCESS!!! I kinda forgot about it and randomly checked my status online to see a message saying my approved items are in the mail. I was shocked with happiness and received it the next day in the mail. God is great and his time will forever be the best time. Just in time for my new job!! Hope all of us get approved and get what you deserve. Please continue what you guys are doing on this site and your blessings will continue to pour in. Later guys...

On May 2, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. It's official! One month and 1 day after my I821D was approved my I765 got approved! For those still waiting dont give up hope your time will come!

I finally got APPROVED!!! I went to my congressman office on Monday, and filled out the form. I guess that same day I got approved. Thanks guy for your support, and I hope you guys are next. I really recommend to do what me & another person in this forum did. I just got my tools ready because I am going Job Hunting tomorrow

Hey guys. I finally got approved after waiting for so long. I was starting to go crazy. I received my EAD today in the mail! Happiest day of my life. I got a question though. I already had a SSN card but above my number it says NOT FOR WORK. What do I have to do? Do I need to go to apply for a social like everyone is doing or no.? Helppp

Besides... Imagine all those ppl that are here that weren't even eligible to fill for DACA (age, no proof, convicted felony, etc)... So Be grateful that you were one of those that qualified!

Do you pray?? May sound really cliche but I am a stronggggg believer that God only gives us what we can handle. No man (or government) is bigger than him. Instead of worrying, have faith. I mailed my DACA, prayed on it, fasted (not eating to focus on prayer and faith), then left it alone. Checked my DACA status online 4 times in 3 months. That was all the energy I gave it... Nothing more because I have been living and waiting for 25 years so I knew I could continue that patience for a few more months. You can't allow this to break you. Good luck and try to stay busy... I read a lot so that also distracted me. Your time will come....

Thank you for your beautiful words its people like you that dont let me loose my hope im really getting stressed about it and its affecting my health since i have problems with depression and anxiety but knowing that more and more people are getting approved helps me feel better congratulations and make the most of this opportunity

I was approve on the 30th of april Sent my application on sep/18 Aceppted on sep/20 Waited 6 months to make a service request 2 months later exactly when i did ther service Request i got my approval First email was that my name updated on my my I-765 then half an hour second email came that my I-821D was approve later like 6 hours i got emailed that my I-765 card was sent into production then this morning i got emailed saying my I765 was approve to wait 30 days to get something in mail then today at 8 pm i got my final email saying usps picked up my card & gave me my tracking number so i tracked it & sayd that my card should arrive this saturday im soo happy that ive been crying because i still cant belive it

So I never got to introduce myself in here at all, so may as well do so now that I've some spare time. Hey everyone, my real name is Enrique, I'm from Venezuela, came to the US originally because of our current situation in our country, going through many political changes and a lot of insecurity so we decided to come to the US, currently I'm the only one who has illegal presence as to the rest of my family they found a way to get in a status and now they're becoming residents except me. This is the only hope I have, the only one I'm hoping for growing a bright future. Honestly I'm all counting on this approval so that I can finally start my own life, I've gone through a lot of difficult phases (I'm guessing just like any other Dreamer out there). When I was in high school, just like any other kid around that age, I would always dream of getting out of high school, start college in another state, living the college life, by my own, I also wanted to go to the US Air Force, and just be like any other typical american life. Just about when I was a senior, I noticed I couldn't do anything I wished for, not even in my same state or more specifically, the same county. Fortunately, I did get my license when I had a status but it's now expired of course, never got a SSN or ITIN. Living life as an undocumented, it has been one of the toughest obstacles I have ever had, just like any of you. Not being able to drive legally, work legally (and even find a decent job), get credits, or even show a valid ID without showing a passport. Most of my friends if not all, they all are residents and citizens, it's hard to keep up with them since they are in college and working at the same time, traveling inside and outside the country with no problems, and even simple stuff like even making a contract with a phone carrier to get a new phone. Things I can't do, and the ones I can, I can barely do. They often ask me about me and what am I thinking about doing with my life, it's such an awkward question although they know my situation, but it still is an awkward situation. I'm someone who usually compares my own to the rest, and it's just so hard and frustrating and devastating, knowing all the things I can do, I could do, and that I'm willing to do, and it's all in stand by. I'm living a life I don't want to live, meaning, I've always felt forced to live the way my parents and other people want me to, and of course, I've always hidden my true personality because they are just not accepting who I am, what I do or what I like. It's so sad when people keeps stepping over you over and over again and you know you can't do anything because without them, I'm not able to sustain myself. This is the number one reason I've been waiting anxiously for the approval, so that I can get my freedom, that's the way of me seeing this opportunity, as freedom. After all this years, I've realized that I'm not looking for fortune, to be rich, or anything, all I've been looking is for just one thing that I mentioned, freedom, stability, and peace with my own. If you made it all the way here reading my post, thanks for taking the time. I'm sorry if some parts do not make sense, I needed to ventilate a little since all my friends are busy on their own little world and they clearly do not understand what I'm going through. I wish luck to all of you that have gotten approved. To the ones waiting, for some of us has been a long road, some are just starting this game of waiting, but be patient, things happen for a reason, the day we will get approved, it's not because an officer just finished the case, it's because we're done, we're prepared for this new opportunity they are giving us. I faxed the form on Tuesday to congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, hopefully it works for me too. keeping my fingers crossed.

I didn't have to wait long. I got my EAD in mail and went to SS office same day (lol, an hour later.) Got a print out and everything. Took about 30 mins.

Im happy for you that you have been approve. Hope everything you want will get acomplished. Like you I came to this country at a very young age(4) and have never been out. My life is here no where else I just hope that i get approve soon. Its killing not knowing when I will get approve.We deserve this !!! Fresita22 - Dont get depressed I know how you feel and trust me we will get our turn. Try doing other things so you wont think of it all day. Maybe if you dont check it for a while a miracle happens. good luck to you. keep us posted. I contact my congress woman and email her my cituation hope she can help me out, they already contact me and they want all my copies of the papers I have recieved form USCIS, if you want try it it wont hurt.

Congrats!!! I got approved this week as well yay!!

Mine was in the LA center and my husband too....patience believe it will probably be when you least expected I was overwhelmed checking every single day and one day that I didn't check it was approved.

Sometimes, life is not fair... They received my app on August 15th and was approved on February 14th of 2013...Go figure... So don't worry - just live your life and let it come when it does...it eventually will... If you let your life revolve around the day when it comes, it is not pleasant...get busy and occupy your mind...or play video games, or read or whatever you like to do...just do more of it...

True Dat! I starting looking for work online and then I networked as well... Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn, etc Checked with my friends to see if they knew somebody anywhere... Was referred to Job Hunters and sent my resume to three of them...met with one, and got an Temp-to-hire position at a great company...starting May 1st I also use my School's Career Management Services Website to look for new opportunities: I have applied to 6 already, and I am confident I will get interviews in May... Meanwhile, I just sit at home, read the FT, and watch CNBC...err day err day err day err day err day err day err day err day...started from the bottom and all that jazz...

I'm somewhat controversial when it comes to the topic of terrorism and violence, and I love it. The biggest terrorist in the world is the United States of America, no question about it! What happened in Boston is tragic and there's no excuse for it, but let's get real for a moment. What do you say to the one MILLION Iraqis who lost their lives for nothing or the 1.5 MILLION Vietnamese who died in the Vietnam war? And not to mention the infamous Atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki that wiped out 250.000 or more people in an instant and many more suffered lingering effects of the bomb. The United States have been terrorizing the world for past century, and the number of innocent people this country have killed is mind blowing. The Boston tragedy is horrible, no innocent life deserve to be taken recklessly regardless of where they live or which god they pray to. Every life is equal in value and no life is more important than the other. No act of violence is excusable and that sure as hell goes for the United States as well. Terrorism breeds terrorism and violence breeds violence and for as long as this country continues to wage reckless and worthless wars on other nations, people will rebel and the result will not be pretty. We don't know yet the motives behind the Boston attack but whatever the motive is we should stop the hate and the stereotypes...and for god sake stop the drone war!

I'm actually from South Jersey but live in Connecticut at the moment nd yeah it took me 1 month to get approve 4 days to get my SSN BUT it takes 3 Months to get the driver license (if you never had one before) !! Aaarrhhhhh I love NJ but I hate it's DMV laws

I applied on jan 31/13 ... did bio on 3/05/13 Last time I checked my status like 2 weekz aho was still on initial review

Hey guys new here. ive been waiting 35 working days since my bio oct. 1. I was wondering if people that apply that are in high school or under 21 get approve faster. Im only saying this because my friends 26, 24, and me 26 have not gotten approve yet. but my younger friends and their sibblings under 21 or in high school already got approve and all of our bios were around the same time.
