Hello everyone ! I'm from California I'm very sad that my case has taken 7 months now!! I know im not the only one my cousin and I went to our biometrics same day and neither one of us has been approved ... anyone else from California that has been waiting this long?? I already called and put in a service request!! lady said it should take 21 days for them to send me a response to see what's going on with my case

I have been reading a lot of articles regardin CIR and all that, and at the bottom, there are the comments of our very educated American friends, of course. So, my question is, where did this idea that "all the stupid Mexicans" get welfare? I mean, no comments here, we all know no one gets welfare here unless they are a citizens of this country. So, where the hell did this even come from in the first place? Who was the genius? I am just so tired of trying to clear this up for people. And I know it is a wasted effort, because they will believe what they want to believe, and I don't even know why I get into these internet brawls sometimes with such ignorant individuals, but it just bothers me that the media will put out such false allegations about the undocumented people in this country. Just saying...

No need to freak out... I wasn't able to check my case until I got hit with an RFE...and that was about 5-6 months after they received my app... Therefore, this is a blessing in disguise... They will eventually get to your case in due time, so just disregard it and keep on living your life... Look at it this way...many people are able to check their status online, and they are always SUPER frustrated because their process is not moving from initial review - many of them complain A LOT about it, when the only thing you can do about it is NOTHING... Bottom line...don't look at it as a glass half-empty, but a glass half-full youknowharamsayin??

Me and you have the same timeline. I sent my app on August 27 and was recieved August 29. & I haven't been approved yet either I did my biometrics October 1st as well. & my case is in California Service Center. My sis and I applied the same day, did biometrics the same day and she was approved on December and I still haven't been approved. I have done 2 service request and both of the times they have told me to continue waiting. I believe it has been 8 months of waiting. I keep having hope they will just give me a decision but they don't. This is so hard because idk wat else to do anymore. I really wanna move forward and start working:( You and your cousin should have faith and hope you guys will get accepted. I just don't know and understand what is taking them so long

1- You will be asked to show your appointment and an identification with it, also they will make sure your phone is off. 2- They will give you a paper where they ask you general questions about yourself whats your name ? address ?whats your height ? weight ? eye color? race ? phone number? birth date ? etc etc 3- On that same paper it will ask for you applications "numbers" and your "Alien number" the picture below below shows where to locate this numbers in Red are the "application numbers" make sure you write down both of them and in Blue is your "Alien Number" yes people we are from out of space 4- once you are done filing out your paper work you will be sent to another desk, they will ask again for your identification and both papers, the one you filed out and the biometric appointment i know i know.... On that same desk they will ask to see your hands front and back. They will return your biometrics appointment with a number attached to it, and a red stamp . 5- Next they will send you to a waiting area try to relax on this step, they will call your number the one attached to the paper, once you are called they will clean your hands with water and take your fingerprints, after that you will be asked to sit down to take your picture and if the person who is taking your picture is nice they will let you retake it again if you don't like it after that you have to to sign on a electronic pad its impossible to get it nice so don't waste your time i tried it 5 times till i gave up once you are done with everything they will verify your information that they have on the system. final step they will write on that red stamp the date and something else that I'm not sure of 6- Ohhh and before you leave they will ask to fill out a questionary on how was the service thats pretty much it , good luck everyone !!!!! sorry if i missed anything i was on a hurry writing this!

I am soo happy! I got my work permit today. Finally after being in this country for 24 years since I was 7 Years old I am now here legal! Just wanted to share the good news with everyone . I don't comment much on here, but I read a lot of y'all posts and to the ones that have not been approved yet, just be patient. You will get approved soon!

So i got my approval letter in the mail today for my DACA, now just waiting on my EAD! just felt like sharing this exciting moment of my life with y'all. God Bless!

I don't think you even need the Matricula to travel within US Territory... As per TSA: However, I would carry the matricula just in case... BTW - move your butt and get a State ID (if you are able to do so, and nothing is stopping you)

Hi AreliJ, Im from Los Angeles and like you I have been waiting for 7 months now. I have called a million times and they all tell me the same thing. That they are too busy and that they dont know when I will be approve they have filed a request called and when they called me they could help they said the same thing. They even did a change addres when I didn't even made the change. I have read others people status in this link and they have been waiting for more than 7 months I know its irritatted that we have no answers but lets just wait our time will come. I did something that someone told me to do , I reached our congresswoman and send her a email asking for her help, her people already reach me and asked me to send them all my info, hope they can help me like they helped others. Wish you the best and lets have our hopes up. Keep us posted!!!

i agree with jjkay, its always some loud asshole who has no idea what a hellish process immigration is talking about people stealing jobs or getting benefits or all kinds of other untrue shit. Find out whatever official info you can, and ignore these asshats.

When I find topics about immigration anywhere on the internet I try to avoid them because I know there's a lot of uneducated people who believe anything they hear/read without doing proper research. It's a wasted effort trying to change the minds of those ignorant individuals, so I just move along and let them be. What they fail to see is that actual citizens are the ones who take the most advantage of government programs.

You need to take your EAD and your Passport or Birth Certificate to apply for an SSN. Some SSAs don't have applications. They just take your information from your documents. You wont be able to get a printout the same day. They will give you a receipt saying that you applied for an SSN. If the receipt says that will receive your SSN within 2 weeks, then that means your information was verified with DHS and you will be able to get a printout in 24 hours since that is generally how long it takes for the SSA to generate your SSN. If the receipt says to wait up to 4 weeks, then that means your information wasn't able to be verified and they will have to manually verify your documents with DHS, so you will have to wait longer.

I didn't have to wait. Got my SSN one day and went the next early in the morn. 30 mins later I was done and the card came a few days later.

I did everything by my self ! I made sure to provide lots and lots of evidence
