finally got approved -
1 pointSo like I posted yesterday I got the approval letters for both forms, well now I live with my mom and my husband is still at his moms, I told him to open up the letters and read them since they were mailed over there (2hr drive) and he had told me something about how they (im guessing uscis) need to verify the approval by either txt, email, call or a visit. So I'm confused about that part, if you've been approved how were you "verified"??? Should I be worried since I just moved out ? I'm going to file a change of address today. Also my third question is what do I do after getting the EAD ? What do i apply for next? Thank you if u can help me

Hello, I'm Cesar
Gezinha reacted to Cesarito90 for a post in a topic
hey whats up Guys! man, Am i Glad i found this website or what! is great to talk and intereact with people that are going through the same like me. well My name is cesar, i'm from lima Peru. I migrated to the US when i was just 11 with my family , well actually my dad moved to the US first and then me, my mom and my brother did.. even tho me and my brother had no choice but to stay bc we did not want to stay in the US , bc we were having a decent living in Peru but we just stayed because of our parents. I lived in woodbridge , Virginia i went to middle school there and i also graduated from woodbridge high school with a 3.0 gpa . but it was during my high school years that i started to really pay attention to the fact that i didnt have a social secuirty and that i was not legal, I couldnt drive or work etc. so when i apply for college , i was not eligable for universities 1) it was too expensive if i wasnt a resident or citizen 2) couldnt apply for financial aid 3) the application asked for ssn....so what i did i went to community college , it was still expensive but not as much as the other universities, i ended up transfering colleges and now I live in miami florida, happy with this city, and the people and hoping soon to be approved for my work permit to be able to work, get a car and have a better living because this city is amazing and full of opportunities! btw I'm now 22 yrs old, i like music, i play the guitar , i compose music too, i like to surf and hit the beach with my friends..also going to the movies and like to breakdance whenever i can, i have also gotten the opportunity to meet alot of wonderful and great people like the senators from florida and virginia, congress woman (we became friends:) , i have met alot of tv celebraties and hollywood celebratis living here in miami is such a great living over here, Sol.Playa y arena . God bless u guys ! -
1 pointI have been reading a lot of articles regardin CIR and all that, and at the bottom, there are the comments of our very educated American friends, of course. So, my question is, where did this idea that "all the stupid Mexicans" get welfare? I mean, no comments here, we all know no one gets welfare here unless they are a citizens of this country. So, where the hell did this even come from in the first place? Who was the genius? I am just so tired of trying to clear this up for people. And I know it is a wasted effort, because they will believe what they want to believe, and I don't even know why I get into these internet brawls sometimes with such ignorant individuals, but it just bothers me that the media will put out such false allegations about the undocumented people in this country. Just saying...

I have been waiting since october. My advice like everyone else tells me on here, try to keep busy and not think about it. It seems the more you check you status and complain about the wait, the longer it takes. There's no absolute processing time so its up in the air. I've seen some get approved within weeks and others after 6 to 8 months. Ill be waiting 7 months on the 9th. So try to be patient. Our time will come. -

1 pointI also try to avoid reading articles because there's always ignorant people writing stupid comments. I also hear people saying rude things like "they don't deserve to work here legally" but to me, they are afraid because they know we can take their job away... Exactly!! You need to be a citizen to get welfare!! Lol. Those are uneducated people and it's best if we just ignore them... They call us lazy but really where I live I have not seen a homeless Mexican, all I see is Americans that are homeless.. Lets not stoop down to their level because that's what that kind of people want. But I definitely understand how upsetting it is to hear/see ignorant comments

Misdemeanors
Calidreamer reacted to Santi for a post in a topic
Let us analyze your situation carefully and see what we can conclude... 1. You say that one of the cases was dismissed in court. I assume you were not charged, or am I mistaken? If you were not charged, that is great, and hopefully you sent the certified paperwork to USCIS proving that you were not indicted in that particular case. Now, to the interesting stuff... According to the State of Texas: Class B misdemeanors are considered more serious than Class C misdemeanors and carry punishments of a fine of up to $2000, and/or a jail sentence of up to 180 days. The court may also impose a maximum of two years of community supervision (adult probation)* or three years of community supervision with an extension. Examples of Class B misdemeanors include: DWI (Driving while intoxicated) first offense Harassment Prostitution Terroristic threat Criminal trespass Evading arrest on foot False report to a police officer and false 911 calls Child enticement Failure to pay child support Indecent exposure Minor drug possession Vandalism You may have noticed I highlighted some words in the examples above. This is just to show you what other crimes are considered Class B Misdemeanors in TX... Now, on to USCIS and their guidelines. For deferred action, USCIS has established guidelines regarding the application process. Some of these guidelines deal with situations where the applicant has committed an offense/offenses against the particular state where the applicant was present at the time of the offense. Here are the guidelines regarding National Security and Public Safety, that apply to your particular situation: A significant misdemeanor is a misdemeanor as defined by federal law (specifically, one for which the maximum term of imprisonment authorized is one year or less but greater than five days) and: Regardless of the sentence imposed, is an offense of domestic violence; sexual abuse or exploitation; burglary; unlawful possession or use of a firearm; drug distribution or trafficking; or, driving under the influence; or, If not an offense listed above, is one for which the individual was sentenced to time in custody of more than 90 days. The sentence must involve time to be served in custody, and therefore does not include a suspended sentence. And also: If you have been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, or three or more other misdemeanor offenses not occurring on the same date and not arising out of the same act, omission, or scheme of misconduct, or are otherwise deemed to pose a threat to national security or public safety, you will not be considered for deferred action under this process. Please keep in mind that in no way am I trying to lower your expectations, or give you false hopes. I am just being factual with the information that I am sharing with you, just so you have an idea of how to proceed. According to all of the information provided (yours and mine), if USCIS decides to interpret both offenses where you were convicted as Class B/Significant Misdemeanors, the probability that they will Defer Action in your particular case is very slim or close to zero. Just let it play out and wait for the outcome of their decision. Hopefully, their decision is a good one and you are DACAmented. Keep us posted about the status of your case and put yourself in the presence of God... -
1 pointDon't worry some people have been approved that were on your same situation so you'll be okay just wait a bit and you will get approved

I received my EAD on the Nov 19, 12 and ran to the SSA at 3:00 pm because that's when the mail gets to my house the securities allowed me to walk in at 3:05. I was the last person they took. The lady that helped me told me to come back tomorrow at 9 am which is the time they open to get a printout. She gave me a receipt paper that I needed to show when asking for the printout. I did go the next morning I was the 2nd person in line. It took them like 5 minutes to hand me the printout. Then I headed to the DMV. I passed my writing with 100% . I took my behind the wheel test last Tuesday Nov 27, 2012. I'm just waiting for DL to come in the mail. Here is some info that may be helpful to some of you reading this. Download the app "DMV NOW" very helpful app. Take the practice test a few times before taking the actual test. Another thing I wanted to point out is that not all DMV's will give you the test in paper some DMV's have upgraded to touch screen monitors. Also meaning the writing test are a lot harder. Good luck to everyone. I hope everyone passes both test. I will let you guys know how long is my licence valid for. Deeply in my heart I'm praying for it to be valid for 5 years.
