So I just got back from the bank! I updated my ssn and he changed my name too, well he added the other last name. He said he had to hmmpf anyway... I wasn't approved for the regular credit card so I applied for the secure one and I was approved. https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit-cards/products/secured-credit-card.go I paid a $99 deposit fee and was given $500 credit. $39 annual fee eekkk I hate annual fees Lol This card works perfectly for me tho plus I bank with bofA so it seemed convenient. The banker was super nice! he's my age and said he's been getting a lot of ppl who were approved thru DACA. He gave me a TIP.. He said if your balance due is $100 and your payment is due on lets say June 15th. Give $50 payment mid may and then give another $50 payment before June 15th He said that's what he used to build his credit. For those of u still looking into getting a secured cc. This was the other option for me... https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/secured-card.html Minimum deposit of $300. Your deposit is your credit. Plus they pay you interest on your deposit. $35 annual fee I didn't choose this one bcuz I could get a higher credit line with a smaller deposit at bofA. The paid interest didn't sway me since I'm hoping I don't have to keep a secured cc for that long. $300 seems steep, but you'll get it back plus interest.

Best Credit Cards To Apply For After Daca

Not necessarily - I have used my first last name forever. However, I always let the people gathering my information know that there are two last names in my card (and I go through the whole 'both families' last names history - if they were not aware of it) You are not lying to anyone. You are just adapting to the American way of just using only your first last name. However, if you want, you can use both last names hyphenated...as in 'Pepito Perez Martinez' would be 'Pepito Perez-Martinez.' It is up to you, although I suggest you use only one...it will make your life easier in the long run. My 2 cents...

It really is a great feeling!! Being approved is awesome but finally having your license..it's the best thing ever. Driving without the fear I was normally accustomed to is such a huge stress lifted off my shoulders. I'm so happy for you and just wait and see how quickly life changes I admire your patience! I didn't wait no where near that long! On a side note, just realized you live in california we live around the same area

    Daca Case Reopened??

Maybe try calling USCIS see what they tell you.I hope it isn't anything bad. The crazy thing is they can go back n reopen a case when there r plenty of ppl waiting almost nine months to get approved. How can they have spare time for this? They should start looking at cases that haven't been approved!

    Check Your DACA Case Status

Yes - The wait is now about 4-6 months, sometimes a little longer. I suggest that individuals that are getting ready to apply, make sure they send their package with the highest quality as possible. This means that all of the evidence sent should be enough and should cover the time frames required for DACA. In doing so, you avoid headaches later on (headache=RFE, or possible denial). Make sure you are as meticulous as possible, paying attention to every single detail if filling out the application by yourself or with your family. If using an attorney, don't rely on them 100% - they are still humans, and make mistakes...If you can double check the application before your attorney submits it, even better...ask questions, and don't just think that because that individual has a JD, he/she won't miss a letter here, a number there... Just a thought...
