    How Has Life Changed?

Life has definitely improved since my approval in December. I'm working two jobs now and am able to help out more at home in terms of finances. Never knew how much I would appreciate direct deposit and my mother not being so stressed out. This is the most carefree she's been in a long time. I can finally focus on finishing my degree and going to medical school. Before DACA, I had no clue how I was going to finance the rest of my education. Unfortunately, my state has banned undocumented students from the less expensive state schools (great education with a much lower price tag), but I'm not giving up on my double major.

I have started working recently, not happy with hours, but beggers can't be choosers! & I get great benefits! Taking my dmv written test tomorrow, so I am hopeing I do good, so I can get my dl next! And having my babies ask for money for el paletero & actually having some....Preiceless!! Defeanetly more busy lately, but I wouldn't change a thing! Love it!!!!!

    How Has Life Changed?

Everything has changed for me. From ID to Learners Permit to License, was able to open 3 credit card accounts and purchased a car using a loan with extremely low interest. Don't have the job of my dream, but I'm working on it. Being able to work legally is the most amazing thing ever. Getting e-verified and coming up clean and valid is a great feeling.

Hi dreamers, This is a funny / interesting picture had found a while back online about legal immigration detailing the different pathways to citizenship. It was made a while back and was meant to address the annoying opponents of immigration who usually just say 'just get in line', as if it's a walk in the park. sorry it's a pdf file not a picture, but it's a pdf of an image http://reason.org/files/a87d1550853898a9b306ef458f116079.pdf

So Wednesday marks 9 months for me since I filed. ;'( And after just waiting around and around I called to make an inquiry back in Jun 07 13 I was told that I would receive something in writting within 15 days well I waited 15 days then I waited 15 BUSINESS days and nothing. I called today and was told that I couldn't make another request until Thursday. But since I hadn't received anything in writting that I should contact the Nebraska office (that's where my case is being processed) directly and that I would for sure receive a reply within 21 days and that if I DON"T then I can contact headquaters directly and that they would respond directly to me within 10 days!!!!! I know it's a long shot but hey if it gets us some answers why the heck not right??? So I'm going to include the info here and what you need to include in your email when contacting USCIS. NOTE: This only will work if you've exceeded the 6 month waiting period and if you've requested an inquiry and have NOT received anything back in written form from USCIS. Also my case is at the Nebraska office so I only have the email for the Nebraska office. So when writing your email to [email protected] it should basically look like the following: My name is _______ DOB______ I filed for the I-821D on _____ my receipt number is _________ my USCIS Alien Number is_____ and I filed back in_______ my application has exceeded the maximum processing time. So I requested a written inquiry on______ and did not receive anything in the mail. My reference number for that in quiry is _______. I'm writing to make an inquiry on my case.... So basically that's the gist. If you have any additional info you may add it but basically like I said I'm just giving you the gist of what your email needs to include. I will be sending mine out today and we'll see what happens. If you do not receive something back within 21 BUSINESS days then write the same information to this email: [email protected]

    How Has Life Changed?

How has your life changed after being approved and gotten all your docs (ead, ssn, dl/id)? Aside from getting my dl/id nothing has drastically changed for me. I've been running two businesses, one since 2005 and one since 2007, so I didn't have to search for a job. All my work comes from referrals. Last week I applied for business licenses and payed back taxes for the businesses - so that's a major milestone for legitimacy.

What day exactly did you send it? I sent mine Jul 17 and I didn't expect to hear anything until Aug 28 Honestly the best way to go about things is to get a written response, bcuz in my experience they will tell you anything to get you off the phone. For example they told my lawyer that my case was being delayed bcuz I was being investigated for fraud. And I never got anything in the mail stating that. Also from the looks of you signature, you submitted your case in January and the aproximate wait time is 6 months. So you just hit 6 months a little less then 2 weeks ago. So my advice to you would be (as hard as it is) to wait at least until Aug 7th. Then I would call uscis and make an inquiry request and then it's a process from there but I'll be glad to guide you along the way. Bcuz while your case is a few days out of the processing time period, some of us waited 9, 10, and even 11 months.

Can I Travel Outside The Us?

First, get the job. Second, apply for advanced parole. Third, consult an immigration representative, CSR, or even an immigration attorney to see if advanced parole will allow you to travel back and forth. I know for a fact (according to what USCIS has stipulated in the website RE: Advanced Parole) that if you are approved for parole because of employment requirements, you will be able to travel out of the country and re-enter...However, they do not say how often you are able to travel and re-enter, or if you have to apply every time you have to travel. If I were you, I would first interview and try to get the job. If asked if I could travel or if I need sponsorship, I would say that the immigration situation is personal and in no way will the company have to sponsor me. My suggestion: Research the requirements for Advanced Parole...does your employer have to fill out any sections or send any paperwork to USCIS confirming your employment and the need for you to travel? Can you travel and re-enter on a recurrent basis? if so, how often? Make sure you have this information on hand before you reach the final round of interviews...if you do, and if the company doesn't have to expose itself significantly if they hire you and train you abroad, you could make a very persuasive argument as to why they should hire and how they could benefit from it... I wish you much success bud! On another note, what company is it? Noble, Diamond Offshore, Seacor, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Transocean, Baker Hughes? I asked because I worked for an Oil Trading firm and am well informed in regards to the industry (majored in International Business and Marketing)... How do they service the industry? Well optimization, testing, drilling, cementing (E&P Sector), Refinery Services/Pipeline Construction (laying) + Maintenance (Downstream/Marketing)? Do they do work Offshore? For what role are you interviewing?
