Here is the deal. I submitted a letter from my employer stating I had been working there since 2008 until now and I got approved. Working previously without a legal status does not affect you while applying for DACA unless you were convicted of fraud. You are totally fine, they know we have had to work under the table and stuff so just apply. Just remember not to include any fake numbers you used in the past. Best wishes

Yes, it is acceptable to present your state ID to fly within the US. Before I got DACA, I was able to obtain a valid ID and I used it all the time to fly.

The USPS sucks! I swear this is not ok. They lost my SSN card in the mail as well. This is what they said when I went to talk to them - If the card was not delivered to the right address and someone returned it to the sender it will take 10 days to get back to the sender. Then you could maybe confirm with the federal office and they can re send it again once they correct the address. I hope you get your EAD soon

Rawf this is a quick summary of what I messaged him - Review of documents - Photocopy of Passport with Visa and I-84 if available Birth Certificate with a notarized translation Middle School transcript (if still in HS or recently graduated to prove 5+years) High School transcript or GED School ID's Proof of being present on June 15, 2012 - DACA announcement day 2 Passport pictures Deferred action application, work permit application, work permit worksheet. Any other information that might make your application stronger - letters from community leaders/teachers, bank statements, purchase receipts with your name, medical records, bills, employer letters, check stubs make sure they don't have a fake SSN listed. As far as the money order(s). I read the instructions and my understanding was to send 2 money orders. I have heard of people getting approved with only one, but I got approved as well with 2. Even if you don't want to want to work at this point, I would highly suggest to include a valid reason for working. Say you want to help your family, get internships in your field of study and or you want to work to pay for your college education. Take advantage of it. Hope this helps

Here are some examples of what you could include- High school or college transcripts Employer letters Check stubs from work Tax forms Newspaper articles with your name listed on there High school yearbooks Vaccination records in the US Medical records Dental records Car insurance records Receipts from purchases with your name on them Employer, community leader or teacher letters stating how long you have been around them Utility bills under your name I am out of ideas; however, I am sure there are others on the forum who can add more to this. Yes Ale, I sent you a message with a detailed description of what to do/expect. You can go today to the SS office and apply for one. The SSN is not sent to you automatically, so get going on your process You can probably go back Tuesday and get a print out of your number in case your card takes longer than that. Hope this helps!

Resume Tips - I went to my college Career Center and got these handy tips FIRST AND FOREMOST- Read the job description and analyze it! How does my job experience fit the job description and qualifications? What personal skills do I have that will be benefitial for the company? Do I have work experience in a related field? 1. Type a general resume with your contact information, profile, education and skills, work experience and references. You can find templates online to make it more organized and eye appealing. 2. Have someone else help you edit/add to the general resume 3. Tailor your resume to the specific job you are applying to. For example, read the description and relate your work experience, skills, coursework to it. 4. Use "hit" words!!! - So the job description asks for computer software knowledge list Microsoft Office, Quickbooks or any other software you are familiar with. Or they ask for a multi-tasker and adaptable person, make sure to list something you have experienced that relates to it. They are looking for such things and since there are tons of applicants your "hit" words will make your resume stand out. 5.List relevant references such as previous bosses, coworkers, teachers, professors, a friend with a job in a related field. 6. Angela - Traveling to AK and HI is not a problem with a valid DL or ID. I have travelled there before. So, you're good to go once you have your ID or DL. Have fun traveling!

There is no fee when applying for a SSN. I would advise everyone to take their original birth certificate and if you can a notarized translation of the birth certificate. I took my passport and ID and they were both ignored entirely. The agent only looked at the birth certificate. She did check for stamps and signatures that indicated it was an original copy.

Does anyone know how to get the SSN before the actual card arrives? I just got a receipt from the office but it doesn't have the number on it. Thanks!
