Dems: Obama Can Act Unilaterally On Immigration Reform
roadrunner11 replied to splif0clock's topic in Dream Act News
Thanks Splif I agree people are welcome to state their opinions but please remember we are here to help others as well. Sentence structure and word choice is appreciated on the forums -
I agree with Rawf even though the application has been avaible for 6 months, USCIS more likely is counting the time from when a person went to get the biometrics taken til now. Hang in there girls, I have seen a lot of people who are waiting since September Bios get some sort of letter from USCIS in the past month.

3 Months And Still Jobless =[
roadrunner11 replied to aliciadreamcatcher's topic in Life After Deferred Action
This is the very common girl. I have a bachelor's in science and lots of experience working, but I still couldn't land a good job for almost 2 months after I got DACA. Just keep it up. Remember that sometimes the jobs we apply to get hundreds of applicants and they will give the job to the person with the matching qualifications, so even if you have a great resume and personality the job is not cut out for a certain person already. I agree with Splif about going into the interview feeling and looking confident. I had terrible interviews at first because I was so nervous and shy but then after 7 interviews I started getting confident and towards the end I had companies trying to sell me the position. There is a fine line between being cocky and being confident, but honestly it is much better than leave an impression of being shy. -
Ale I am sorry this is all happening to you but let me tell you life is always challenging whether we have DACA or not. I was also unemployed for 2 months after getting my work permit and I used all my savings. I am still paying my parents for all the money they loaned me to apply for DACA and pay my bills during those two months. But I knew things were soon going to change if I kept working hard for job interviews. I seriously applied to over 35 job positions and finally I was able to get a job. My point is most people think, including myself, life automatically becomes awesome and easy after DACA and we are WRONG. Life will always have its hurdles and obstacles. It can get really bad at times, but we MUST keep the sprit up and going because then if we decide to give up after DACA we truly wasted a good opportunity. Life will brighten up girly. Keep applying for jobs. Go back to school in your own terms. Maybe try saving as much as you can so you can go to college in the fall. <33333

roadrunner11 replied to ERIC's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
This is strange I would call USCIS. I don't think they should take that long to send a biometrics appointment.- 15 replies

The key to get interviews is having a good well organized/formatted resume. Remember to make it easy to read so people can pick it up and glance quick at it and still think you are interesting/worthy of an interview. Also, try online applications at restaurants and stores.

Stay With Employer Or Find New Employment?
roadrunner11 replied to sandym's topic in Resume/Job Help
I told my employer about my new SSN because they knew about my situation so it was actually not hard for me to change my taxes to that. Two months later I switched job because obviously the previous job was not in my field and the pay wasn't that great. But I still asked them to transfer all my tax deductions to my new SSN. -
Question To Whoever Have Been Approved Already
roadrunner11 replied to 020490's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Just send all the paperwork in chronological order so it makes sense and they don't have to sort through it. Staples? I didn't staple anything I just included all the document copies in order and used a priority envelope for the mail. -
How Many Of You Guys Pay A Lawyer?
roadrunner11 replied to Mercedez's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I honestly don't think this is the case. When I applied for DACA I had been out of college for almost a year and a half and I got approved within 19 days. My high school friend also applied and he had been out of high school since 2007 and got approved within 2 and half months because he applied in October a little later than me. My other friend in Texas graduated in 2008 from HS and got approved within 2 and a half months from bios as well. I think the most important factors in getting approved within a resonable time frame are having strong continuous evidence of being present in the US for 5+, the center you get assigned to and criminal backround that may include having a common names. -
It is interesting some banks won't ask for a SSN or ITIN. I had to have my dad sign my account paperwork and all that because he had a valid SSN because otherwise they wouldn't let me open one. I wonder if they changed the rules now. Either way now with DACA we will be able to get our credit history going. wOOOh HooOO

Have you called? We have a member who called 3 or more times to get information on his case and they finally sent him an RFE. I would call.
-
No the date of your biometrics is not shown on the website status. The appointment letter is the only piece of evidence of when you attended the center for them.

I Have Not Applied Yet, Have Questions Still!
roadrunner11 replied to Godisgood's topic in General Discussions
I don't think it is an issue not having the I-94 form. It does ask you how you entered the country you can type the visa type if you know it and then state you no longer have the I-94. You should be able to apply it sounds like you have lots of evidence. I proved my stay w school and college records along w medical bills and bank statements. -
Hey congrats and yes it's true this week so many approvals!! Exciting to see that's happening.

Congrats!

In a day of serious desperation over my case I typed DACA process and the forum was at the top of the search results. I am glad I did
-
There is another member on this forum who also sent the application on Aug. 17th and had the bios done around the same time and he just recently got an RFE. He did call several times and asked to talk to supervisors instead of the regular customer service reps. Hang in there, but you can also give them a call and see what they say.
