Yeah I see the approval pattern for many many people is 34/35 days later, say you went in on the 15Oct, you get approved 19/10 Nov...you see what I mean? You can look at the patterns...if my case gets approved on the 18/19 of this month, it will be dead on with the pattern.

I would think probably not, you can work in the hospital. But you can always ask google. That is how I found out if citizenship was needed to become a police officer.

My case just went into initial review today, my SC is in VT as well. I went in for bio 28 days ago. I am hoping they don't keep it under initial review forever.

Thank you Cinthya.

I have heard that if you apply through a lawyer, your process will always be a little longer. I did not, I did it myself, because it just seemed so easy, and for me to pay someone 1500 to fill out my own informatio on a sheet of paper was just absurd to me. I hope you have found that lawyer, and I hope the kid kept a contract or receipt of some sort. You can always go to your own lawyer you applied thru to ask what to do, if you are a customer, I am sure he or she can instruct you on what to do about a shady lawyer.

question regarding driver licenses ?
Gezinha replied to x0_michy's topic in Life After Deferred Action
That is so ridiculous, you have to kind of cross your fingers so you wont get someone in a bad mood that day, so, you may get your license for more than 2 years. That is absurd, you may have all your papers in hand, and still, depending on the level of racism of the person in front of you, you may get treated as fairly as everyone else. Arghhhh I can't stand beind treted differently just because of stupid papers, and sometimes, it is not even the papers, bc in all reality, they papers are important. Now, being treated differently bc some of us aren't blonde and blue eyed when we have been in line for certain things for hours, now, that is what really pissess me off man.Hopefully, some of us won't get smacked with this label in line to get a license, and for the ones that do, I am very sorry, and this has to change. -
I live in MA, I tried once to fly with a Brazilian passport and the woman at the counter in Boston was a total asshole about it, she had a personal problem with it, now, when I was coming back from GA a weeks later, they were cool about it, asked me nothing. I would not recommend travelling with your home country passport if ur visa isnt valid anymore, you never know. My friend recently married and went to FL for honeymoon, the lady at the counter in Boston said to him "u r lucky im a nice person". People here in Mass as just ridiculous about this kind of thing, you are just like every other person until they find out u dont have pepers. I would just rather avoid the situation. I have no idea how it is in Nebraska though, you might have some luck. Wherever you decide to go, good luck

A letter regarding your case? What do you think they mean? Like, an interview for your case? Or the documentation along with a letter? If you got approved, that is great, but it does seem kind of strange bc it is true what you said, that everyone receives their work permit in 10 days after approval. Best of luck to you. I am sure everything is fine though, if you were approved, then that is like 95% of the way. -
I just cannot believe this is happening. Even though this country is sometimes rough for many people, the laws here are very forgiving, and sooner or later things can look bright for the vast majority. Especially for the younger generation, I hope this does pass, so, many of us still have time to go to school and fulfill our dreams. After the deferred action got going I was so excited to go to school and become a police officer, but I found out you have to be a citizen, or at least a green card holder for the job, now, seeing this gave me bran new hope. I am so excited to even have the opportunities my mother did not have. It is kind of funny though, I am here kind of breaking the law, and then I want to be a police officer...I have all intention of being a nice officer though. haha! Definitely not as bad as some i've come across.

Yup, thanks I told them all and I am actually already workind, I am getting paid on personal check meanwhile, but as soon as I get my SSN they will get me started on paycheck...thank God and all this. I hope everyone is getting better jobs, and going after what they want. This is such a blessing for all of us.

So, I told them the situation, and they were happy to wait at least until January for my papers, I do believe the stuff will be here before the end of January. So, best of luck to anyone in the same situation.

This is an excellent suggestion, I did not know this could be done. Thank you so much. I will try to include that as an option when I explain the situation to them, which I will, otherwise I will be read faced on the firts day of work when my papers don't come up as valid. Thanks again.

I see what you guys are saying, and I totally agree. I am just worried that they will thbink "oh, she took the position with no papers in hand." Doesn't that look a little fishy? What could I say to the employers that would make them believe that it will be here by mid December if it has been months and papers are not here yet? I guess I am just a little nervous because this job is so important to me at this point. Thank guys.

Itzel, thank you, I think it is the best think to do. Angela thank you so much, I was hoping to find someone in the same situation who had it figures out, lol, thanks so much. I will tell them about the situation, it will probably be til mid Dcember to get it all ready. I will even offer to work for less if they prefer for the time being. Thank you guys so much.

Do not put any fake ssn numbers you have used, do not put any other names you have used. leave the spaces blank. Say you worked cash the whole time you were here. If no one caught up to you until now, there is no reason why they should find out with an application like this, I think, and they say they will not send this to ICE, so, you should be olay, it is worth a shot.

I hope he has something better than the Dream Act. It is not fair for the DA to pass and forget about the millions of other older people who did not get a chance to go to school, they deserve a chance to go ahead in this country as well. But if only the DA passes, that is better than nothing.
