No Government Id Issued For Biometrics. Help!!
Gezinha replied to CDELRIO's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Why wouldn't you have papers if you were adopted by a US citizen? I am sorry, I don't know how the adoption process works in this country, but isn't it automatic that you would be their child and have the same as a biological child that was born here? Maybe you need to talk to a lawyer. -
It will probably arrived much, much faster than that. From what I have seen on here, it will arrive in no more than 10 days. I could be wrong, but it won't take a month. Go straight to the SSN building in your town, and apparently it does not take more than a week to get a SSN. Congrats!!! I pray I will open up that page one day and my Initial Review will be in the rear view mirror! haha

We Normally Process The Cases In The Order In Which They Are Received. Because We Want To Be Fair To Our Customers
Gezinha replied to jd_208's topic in General Discussions
Is that the answer you got when you called to know about your case? I mean, it is fair, but it seems fishy when certain people get approved first, and then someone who sent stuff 1 month before is still waiting. It really depends on who is on your case, I guess. Like I said before, and I will say it again, they are all probably lazying around drinking non-fat soy lattes instead of doing any work. Infuriaaaates meeee!! -
In my personal opinion, this is just one of the many reasons the citizens of this country think we are "arrogant", "ignorant" and "trash". This is no way to go about things inside a packed court room with a discussion as serious as that going on. To me, some of those kids acted like they are entitled to this, like they deserve it, if anything, if I were there, I would be disgusted and very unwilling to help people like that. It makes us all look like fools, and everyone knows that generalizing a group of people because you have met one or two, is just ridiculous, but what other way of seeing this is there? I am sure this is not the way most people condcut themselves, these kids are just desperate for attention. These are the kind of people that makes eveything else worse for all of us that work hard, are respectful, responsible and sensible. Just my personal opinon.

Wow your beother is like, 4 days ahead of me, I sent it to VT center as well. I guess I can get a little bit excited this week...maybe? hahaha I hope so.

How awesome is that huh. Just when you least expect, there it is. That is so great, I am sure it is a weight lifted off your shoulders. Congratulations, I hope you get it all done very soon, and turn into a great nurse! I am very happy for you, and we all soon will be approved and feeling the same happiness to have this opportunity.

I consulted a lawyer with this very question. DO NOT SEND ANYTHING WITH FAKE SSN. This is just going to make it worse for you, it is considered a felony, according to her. What I did, was send my bank statements, that counts as proof of you being here for extended periods of time, because you have charges on it every month and all. I would say do not send it. And on the explanation part of the application, just say you work part time, cash job cleaning at night with your mom or dad, or a friend that has a cleaning company or something like that. But I absolutely would say do not send anything admitting to falsifying papers. Again, I am not anyone that knows the law, but in my personal opinion, do not send it. It is like incriminating yourself. Good luck! But you can always call a lawyer and ask, I guess, they usually won't charge you for a question, depending where you live, the lawyer I asked did not chage me.

2Nd Phase Of Dream Act Goes Too Far - U-T San Diego
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
Very well said Erica, Thank you for saying that. I unfortunately, have never been to CA or AZ, and but I can only imagine how hard it is for all the immigrants to work a low wage in the hot scorching sun, while the Cali beaches are filled with 15-19 year olds sit on the beach drinking and surfing. God forbid, if you ask them where a lemon, or a strawberry comes from, they wouldn't even know they grow outta the ground. Now, this girl in the article, for God's sake, no comments, a complete airhead. lol -
2Nd Phase Of Dream Act Goes Too Far - U-T San Diego
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
Great, but she forgets that no one is asking for it, all we want is the chance to be able to get out loans and pay for them. If you have no SSN, how in the world do you apply for a loan for college? I just despise people who make judgement without being in the situation. And if people in CA have the opportunity, it is not because they begged for it. How many Americans quit school everyday and don't even care for a better future? And here we are, practiacally begging to pay taxes, to have a SSN, to contribute to the country, and the judging does not stop. And "fairness" is just ridiculous, we are not asking to step in front of everyone else, we are just asking for a chance, as a great majority of us came to this country through no fault of our own, and this is all we know. And then, there is that little thing there...hm, her father came here? Great, so, you wouldn't be born here if your dad didn't come here in the first place? How decent of your father to give you a better life, or you should probably give up your citizenship and go back to your country of origin, because really, you are an immigrant, kind of, right?. Oh, no? Ok then! -
What Evidence Did You Sent With Your Application?
Gezinha replied to Armando H.'s topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I sent my criminal records discharge papers from court bc i had been pulled over twice. Bank statements for 6 years. HS diploma, marriage license because my name had not changed yet on my passport, and all my previous passports with a big Boston Consulte stamp on them, just to make sure they saw that I hadn't left the country in over a decade. My tax id number as well. -
How Many Of You Guys Pay A Lawyer?
Gezinha replied to Mercedez's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I absolutely did not. They were charging a ridiculous 1500 here in Boston. Bunch of sumbags trying to take money to fill out papers with your own info. Especially cause all I had were two stops for driving without a license. I went to court, got my discharge papers, got HS diploma, bank statements, some bills and that is about it. Sent in the application, and it is on review. I did it for my friend's kids as well and they are right up there waiting with me as well. Unless you had a problem, like serious problem, you wouldn't need it to fill out the form. At least, for me it was easy. -
We all so happy for you!!! Hopefully we will all be posting the same news soon. I am glad to know someone can get approved on weekends bc I am crazy checking online twice a day lol. Congrats again!!

November, October Still Waiting Share Your Timeline
Gezinha replied to jd_208's topic in General Discussions
I sent in my app in october and got my bios done on Nov 15th. I got no notice at all after that, except I kept checking online of course, and they initiated my review on 12//12. And that is about it, I guess, just got to wait. -
What did they ask you for? and how long after the application was sent?
-
I know, and it is so hard because you don't want to do the wrong thing by applying for a job with documentation that is illegal now that you know you have something coming. It is just impossible to keep your head straight sometimes, it is like being up on a wall, and you don't know how long to hang on. Fortunately, I have my husband to support me, but you have school, and you are trying to do the right thing, and I feel like people are just not considerate of how much certain applicants needs this to make their lives right. Especially if you are in school. Best of luck to us all. Yours probably won't be more than a month. I am praying for everyone.

I feel like our cases are just sitting in a pile and people are sitting around rinking lattes all day. I feel so desperate, I am out of a job, and I can't stand it. I know it will come, but I feel helpless when I see people waiting for 5 months even, it is not fair to us, even less to them, who scrambled to geet stuff together, some people are probably waiting for 6 months and over already. I don't understand why the other places are going so fast, and so well, and we have to put up with this crap. Makes me insane.
-
Poor Amor, she has been waiting forever. Hopefully you get ur approval soon.
-
I know, my mind has been much more at ease after I found this forum. It has been 133 days for me, but after being here I am a lot calmer about whats going on. Welcome, everyone here is really nice and helpful.

Oh, thanks for the info, I was getting a little worried. Thank you.

Why It Takes Sooo Long Its Being Already 90 Days!!...
Gezinha replied to Xerok's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I know, it is awful, some people get approved so quickly, but again, if like me, you are in the Vermont center, forget it, it will probably take over 90 days. It has been over 90 days for me as well. Some people have waited 150 days. Just hang in there. -
I just feel that due to my health situation I should quit this job. Maybe they will just write out a check for what I have worked and be done with it. I am not in a great position to look for another job, my health situation does not allow it for now. I feel like they are wasting my time an I am wasting theirs. And this eternal delay with the Vermont Center is killing everyone that is waiting. I am fortunately married to a great man who can support me for a couple months until I can get better and maybe the documentation will arrive. This just really sucks, if I knew this would happen I woould've never quit my other job. This is just terrible, to be promised something and not be given it.

Getting a little frustrated with the delay, especially bc thanksgiving, xmas, news years... it is all such a delay, and idk how the government works, but I am guessing everytime there is a holiday they probably get a whole week off. Not that they don't deserve it, but it is such torture to know that your paperwork isn't going forward because of holidays.
