Yeah, you should check the letter they sent and send the evidence they are asking for by yourself, I hate scumbag attorneys. I did mine and 3 other applications, and everyone got approved. Attorneys are just hungry money sucking leaches. They take on 100 cases and do them all half assed without a thought or regard for the people are actually supposed to be helping. Go get the letter, and if he doesn't give it to you, you tell him you will report him. This is absurd! Don't miss this chance because of this, go get the letter from him. Good luck! ***And if they are asking for more evidence, you can send ebay and paypal stuff, just so you know, to speed up the process in case they are asking for more dates in your case.

But my husband woul qualify on his own, or not? Even if he would wait more than me, wouldn't he be able to apply on his own? He has been here for 8 years, but he came thru the border. He would qualify, right? But I could add him to my paperwork so he would wait less??? That would be wonderful! I know, all I really care about right now is being able to travel and see my mom, green card and citizenship will come later, no matter how long, I can wait.
-
No, my husband arrived when he was 17, he was not eligible for DACA.
-
Most likely will be a faster path. I know you have been in line for some time right? It would be good that whoever is in line gets this before any of us can even apply, it is only fair because they have been waiting for so long. While securing the border, work on people who are waiting already, then get their cases out of the way so they can receive the other millions, because this is not going to be fast, at all! And the people who are already in line shouldn't have to wait.
-
yeah IF, WHEN, THINK is what scares me a little bit. Do you think it could be more than a year? I am so afraid that anytime my husband could be stopped driving and get deported, urgh, I just can't stand this feeling of having received DACA and having this, and it is too good to be true and something will happen to him. Oh my, I am so negative, I cant' help it. lol It will pass, I know it! And in less than 20 months, maybe all of us will be visiting our families in our countries!
-
Yeah Im still having a hard time understanding what they means when they say they have to secure the border before they let anyone apply.
-
If this takes over 2 years to pass, and our cards expire, do we get approved for DACA again? Is there an expiration date on DACA? Will is cease to exist if this bill is implemented?

How Long Do I Have To Wait?
Gezinha replied to elsoniador91's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
None of us here has waited less than 4 months, I don't think. Mine took exactly 7 months from the application mailing date til now, I just got my card last week. With the rising number of applicants, I think if you are lucky, 6 months, if not, 8-9. I think the application numbers can only rise. It is completely normal to take longer than 5 months. If it takes more than 6, then you can call. Otherwise, it is just a waiting game. I will be honest and say chances are they didn't even open your letter except to take out the check, and they will only open it a week before they approve you or request RFE. They only put everyone in Initial Review so we can all be at ease and make us think they are looking at our stuff, but reality is they are not. They will approve you in the weeks they open your package, and it is not going to be for another 4 months, at least. But like I said, if the 6 month mark comes and they don't say anything, call them. 6 months from the application date, not the biometrics date. Good luck. (They are frustrating, but don't get mad and desperate, because believe me, that does not help, most of us were tired of waiting and complianing before our stuff came in the mail). -
I have a question, it might seem dumb, but please answer me WHAT ARE DREAMERS? How do they deffer from the rest of the people? Are people under DACA automatically considered dreamers? Bc I always thought dreamer were only people in college. Or are they people who WANT to get into college? Sorry, this is as dumb as it gets, but I never understood this. The majority of people I know have documentation and "Dreamers" was not a big word around where I live.

I just read another article, and it said they woud come up with a biometric travelling card of some sort to differentiate the people who are here under provision and the ones that are just travelling. I read it here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/senators-immigration-legislation-provisions/

So, I read the bill that was revelaed today...and does this mean that even if this passes it will not go into effect until the government is satisfied with borders security? Like, if it takes 3 years for the fence to be secure, only in 3 years this will be in effect? Omg, dude, I'm losing hope here, I am seriously gonna cry right now.
-
Well, that is not fair to the 55,000 other people that could come here. Wow, a real bummer, torally uncalled for, that opens no opportunities for honest people from other countries. I hope, at least they have less beurocracy when other people try to apply to come here. Really unfair for those people.

Oh God...we can travel outside of the country without waiting for GC???? That is all I wanted to ever hear! Thank you Obama and Gang of 8!!!!!

Unauthorized Immigrants May Have To Pay $2,000 To Earn Legal Status
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I couldn't care less about the fees, but if they are going to charge, they should make this fair to us. If we are going to be citizens of this country and green car holders, we should have the ability to use all the services like everyone else. I don't believe a large amount of people are doing this because they wanna live off the government, obviously, but you never know when you might lose your job, or need some assistance, especially bc many of us have children. I don't, but what if I do and I have quit my job or something? It is a worst case scenario, but it is not fair to charge us, make us wait 10 years and not give us anything at all. Are we not equal to everyone else? I understand that it is not even a question because "we broke the law" or whatever, but honestly, this is not treatment anyone deserves, we, the ones who arrives as children, are not at fault here. I just hope that this law will pass and I can see my family in less than 10 years, hopefully.- 19 replies

Unauthorized Immigrants May Have To Pay $2,000 To Earn Legal Status
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I think, most likely we will all be paying for this, since it is an application fee for residency. It is for paperwork, so, no matter what, all of us who want into the new law, will be paying.- 19 replies

I think "they" means the people that do not have a ssn or authorization right now, and they will eventually fall under the new law when approved and receive documentation.- 19 replies

Unauthorized Immigrants May Have To Pay $2,000 To Earn Legal Status
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I believe so, but for longer, I guess since they will have 10 years to apply for a green card, it makes no sense to give them a work permit with limited validity.- 19 replies

Unauthorized Immigrants May Have To Pay $2,000 To Earn Legal Status
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I am still waiting to see what news there are in regards to travelling outside the country. I am very happy it is going to be only 2,000 per person, and not 2,000 every years we havent paid taxes, as was said a month or so ago. I just want to travel and see my family, that is all, I can work to support myself, and so can thousands of Americans living on welfare. Seriously now, we don't get anything and still pay taxes? We better get extra fucking taxes back at the end of the year then, cause this is seriously ridiculous. No words to explain the frustration it causes me to see Rubio all up in his high horse making decisions for people who he has no idea in what conditions of life they live under. Seriously, goddamn it! The reason immigrants flee their country, sometimes in fear for their own lives, it is not to be a couch potato like Honey Boo Boo's family ok, it is to work, the exact freaking opposite of what welfare people do. I think they are scared that their 400 dollars checks won't come anymore if all the illegals get rights, you know, they think we are probably going to join them in milking off the government. I just want to go see my mother people!!!!!!!!!!!- 19 replies

You know, dental assisting courses take less than 6 months to complete, and the job pays very well. I don't know if where you live you can find something like that. But it is a wonderful job for a working mom. While you are pregnant you could take the course, here in MA is cost me only 1,800. It is not much, and you can further the profession if you end up liking it. Congrats on the baby, and if defiitely doesn't affect your case, and it is great now that you can get good money back for claiming your baby as a dependant.

Application For Employment Authorization Help!
Gezinha replied to YourFriend_Gzuz's topic in General Discussions
You probably didn't move, did you? I mean, did you send your package with a misprint of your address, maybe? But it probably doesn't affect your case at all, whatever it may be. -
Broad Outlines Of Senate Immigration Agreement Emerge
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
I honestly don't care if it takes 13 years become a citizen, a green card in a shorter period of time would do wonders...but does this mean that only after we get a green card we will be allowed to travel outside US? 10 years????? I mean, will there not even exist a "pass" sort of thing? Like a temporary travel "card"? I can't belive this, it is so horrible. I haven't seen my family in over 12 years! I can't take this, sometimes I don't even think it is worth all this heartache. -
I think anythin with your name and address and date will do fine, I sent paypal and ebay transactions and they accepted it. So, I guess officials will be just as fine as regular copies.

There was a whole thread dedicated to people who got tranfered to Nebraska...it might be hard to find here, but it was around when they first started tranferring peope, I did know some people, but just from the thread. Some of them might have been approved already, I think they might be doing the October applicants now, because the people from the thread were like me, applied in Oct and got tranferred to some other less busy center.

I got transferred there from VT and about a month after I got someone to review my case. They did it very fast after that, I was approved like 6 weeks after my case was sent to nebraska.
