Senators Agree On Path To Legal Status For Illegal Immigrants
Gezinha replied to Admin's topic in Dream Act News
They are dreaming if they think anyone is going to to pay up that amount. I have done my taxes, except for 2 years at my first job with a different name, I have done it all, every year. Except if they have been here for 3-5 years, no one is going to fork over 10-100K, no way dude. I don't know if you guys heard, but apparently, their "path to citizenship" is to have us be here for 10 years, because the first 5 we will be just waiting, and then 5 years later, a green card, and then another 5 years later citizenship. So, 15 years...and this law won't come out until 2015, so, it will be 2030 before I have citizenship? This is very inefficient. I am not saying it should be easy because others are waiting to be legalized before me, and other are traying to come here legally, but 15 years, seriously? And if other people like pswa83, will be in debt to the country 60,000...do u really think if they had that kind of money they would still be here? That is absurd, they are STILL trying to make us second class citizens, slaves, they want us to take care of the countrie's debt, a country that we can't even call ours! This is slavery reloaded, they want us to pay up, pay up, no problem, we can pay a fine, pay a reasonable amount for taxes, but no person can just give that amount of money to the government out of the blue, 2,000 is just way too much for each year. If everyone did their taxes each year this wouldn't be a problem now, would it? But how are we all supposed to do taxes with the white men's law like a big ass rock on the way to any path we want to take? Those of us who pay taxes, they use our tax money in country, and we never see it at the end of the year because we have no way to claim it back. And those of us who work getting paid under the table, fine, pay up your dividend. Not 2,000 obviously!!! That is ridiculous for a year, this is just going to amount more debt to the new citizens this country will have. -
Your name was updated? Did you send in anything with a different name? Are you married? Did they request anything from you before this happened? You should call them, I've never seen this before, but it doesn't sound serious though, if they just updated your name.

I know, I didn't even think about that. And if they sent the cases to Nebraska, you know that they didn't even open the damn file, except to take the money out. An this whole "UNDER REVIEW" thing on out statuses is probably bullshit, because it probably takes about 3-4 days to do a brackground check, and they just leave it like that for us to think they are actually doing something, when in reality, the file is just sitting there and no one will touch it until, maybe someone with good sense walks by and sees that the 6 months are almost up, or when we call to know about it. And of, course, that is when they don't know what to say because to acutally get up from their desk and go look for our cases is way too much work, and beyond their pay grade.

I wonder why VT even is the busiest center because the western part of the country has had the majority of applicants, and that means applicantions went to Texas, Nevada and Cali. The VT are probably a smaller staff, that has got to be it. No way they have received such a huge amount like the other centers. Applications were apparently divided by region and matched up to a center closer to where the application came from. I just don't understand this lack of attention they have with all paperwork. Not processing it by date and not knowing what info to give applicants when they call this far into the process, it has been over 7 months, they should know what to tell people when they call, and this incessant request for RFE, people end up sending the exact same paperwork they sent to begin with, and then, like magic, things turn "okay", what the hell kind of service is that? I guess it is just not okay to say they "misplaced" your original documentation, it sounds "unprofessional". Well, just hope for the best I guess, I hope we are all not waiting much longer.

"We should've put those signs up when yo guys came", best line ever! lol

And I want to share this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LLaPQgDgK0 hahaha damn right! Watch this...and this is even better because now, the white people don't have the right to even open their mouths!
-
They are sending many the cases there because Vermont is apparently on overload, so, maybe lucky, maybe not. I hope so.
-
Ohhh ok thanks. I guess if I do not get an answer or approval or a sign I will be calling next month on the 17th. My case was tranfered to Nebraska, so, Idk what that could mean towards wait time.
-
So, I don't get it. It has been said plenty of times here in this forum that the 6 month countdowon begins after you take your bios. And now, the OP says she could've called earlier. August to February is 6 months, but she sent application in August, so, isn't her 6 month mark to call on March 27th? Because the first 30 days wouldn't count because she didn't have her bios doe til September, right? I am very confused right now as to when I can and should call in case my application doesn't go through at the expected time.
-
Wow, I wonder if they play stupid on purpose or they have to go through training for that haha. That is ridiculous, why shoud you have to transfer your case yourself? They are almost over the 6 month period for waiting, they should do it themselves and speed it up, I mean, isn't that their job? You paid your fee for it to be processed. This is just absolutely insane, telling people to wait 6 months and leaving cases untouched on a desk. As much as I am happy for people that get approved quickly, I can't help but full on rage when I see that someone sent their case in 30 days ago, and got approved in 15 days. Of course, I am not mad at the applicant, but mad at the people at the facilities who are not smart enough to sort out applications by date. How hard is that? Seriously, I hate to say this, but sometimes I think people working for the government are morons on purpose because they need to be ignorant about what goes on in those places in order for the government to keep milking money, patience and time off people.

I'm Curious About My Case? Thanks

Where was your service center? -
Amor, I wonder what is going on with your case. I have seen 2 other people here on the forum that got their cases tranferred to Nebraska, so, they can probably approve/deny or get to it in time. I am sorry if you have already posted something about your situation and I don't remember, but did you try calling the center? Are you appplying with a lawyer? I just saw someone, I don't remember his name, but he said he got approved withing 20 days...as happy as I am for him, that is so messed up. This just proves they are not doing anything in an orderly fashion. And if my case got transferred to make it in time, yours should have moved much sooner than mine. I am sorry you are going thru this, you are one of the earliest applicants on this forum, you should have your stuff already.
-
Kaye, your case got transferred to Nebraska without you even having you biometrics done??? Or is that the center you case was going to in the first place anyways? When did you send your application?
-
Thank you guys so for your opinions on this. It is really gonna help me out with my article. Keep posting if you want to add something, please. Let's get approoooooved!!!

Oh my gosh, I would go crazy...case not assigned yet? They better be joking!!!

Hello Jose. Welcome to the forum. I am from Boston. I am 4months and 2 weeks into my wait time. I have just received a letter saying my stuff was tranferred to Nebraska, which is apparently nothing to be worried about. Some people have been waiting for more than 7 months I believe, when they call, it turns out not being a very informative conversation. Well, it is quite a load of applicants to handle, that must be why they are tranferring certain cases, they know they will be late, so, better tranfer now. I have gotten quite piece of mind after finding this forum here, as you have said, calmed down because I was freaking out as well. Everyone here is really nice, any doubts, concerns, or new developments in your case, let us know, so, then we can share the knowledge with the next person it happens to, won't be so lost. Again, welcome.
-
Hmm...I think that is a definite question for a lawyer.
-
Yeah, you might be very close to approval Mercedez, probably a couple more weeks. You are at 5 months now, so, one more month.

I have no idea Reyna. I was talking to a member here named Phoenix, she said she lives in FL and she got the same message as me about 3 weeks ago, and then, this week she got a letter in the mail saying that her case went to Nebraska. She was confused because that's nowhere near local for her, I think she said she called but they didn't give her a straight answer, they just said it was under further processing. But it was nothing bad at all. I still don't know what "local" means, I would think, since I am in Boston, it would go to a processing center here, but I have no idea, it might go to Nebraska, I think they are sharing the load now that it's busier with more applications. I guess I will know in a couple weeks when/if I get a letter like Phoenix did.
-
Hi Reyna, my bios were done a couple weeks before yours and my case has just gotten an update. It was moved to the local center, nearest me, apparently. Maybe you will be getting an update shortly as well.

Hawaii here I cooooome, that's for sure. I have always wanted to see Hawaii, can't believe it's getting closer!!! Too bad my husband can't go
-
No, not yet. I just received a message a couple days ago saying my case was transferred to my local office. I guess that is better than nothing, at least I know someone looked at my paperwork and I am not so worried anymore. I will probably get approved in between 4-6 weeks, at least that is what I am hoping for.

Usually, from what I have heard, all SSN start with 9. But well, that doesn't mean anything at all. Maybe someone else has the same, let's wait and see. http://www.ssa.gov/kc/SSAFactSheet--IssuingSSNs.pdf Check this link out...in 2011 they changed the way they issue SSN.

Pink Stripe On Illegal Immigrants' Driver's Licenses Considered In Nc

That is absurd, just makes me sad to think that this will probably never be over for us DACA applicants. Thankfully they don't to that here in Mass. This is an excuse for being profiled and criticized, look down on. This means they think we are not the same, we are different and do not deserve this. I am sure many years from now this will change, but they want to make us feel ashamed for something that is not any fault of our own. Hate damn republicans.
