Good Lord three jobs!?!?!?!
-
I walked in with my bro, had no issue and the guard was all Chatty Cathy with me. Which was nice cuz I was kinda nervous. I just asked politely if he would allow me to do my bio that day.

I don't think it is, and the place that they sent me was the place a former employer of mine would send people to get background checks for daycare positions it was the same price they charge. 2, 500 may be a rip off to you, but I do live in Orange County so things happen to be on the expensive side. I wasn't going to take any chances on making a mistake on any form, or any future process that I begin.

I hired a lawyer here in Southern California. His services cost 2,500. You have to put a down payment of 1,000 and you pay 200 every month until its paid off. The 2,500 is all inclusive except for two things. Two pics which cost 10.00 and my initial background check which cost 45.00. I call his receptionist and his paralegals all the time, and he has been very good at answering all my questions in a timely manner. He's very good.

Well first thing first I commend you on trying to go back to school. Secondly I think you would be able to apply for privet scholarships to help pay for school. Talking to a school counselor would be the first step to help you navigate the scholastic waters. I really do hope the rest of the nation becomes more sympathetic to people on Daca going to school and opening those channels to make it easier for students to go to school. You might want to contact local chapters of Dreamers in Florida to get more info. I live in California and I am able to go to college at in state tuition rate, and as of 1/2013 we qualify for financial aid. If you are able to get loans I would also look into that. Education is as it has always been an valuable asset. Keep calm and exhaust every possibility. I'm sure someone from the state of Florida will soon comment and give you the infor you need.

They do, my brother just took his birth certificate, but yes consular cards are accepted. -
Just google a place near you. My lawyer sent me to a place called live scan....which is where other companies send potential employees. If you know for a fact that you don't have a rap sheet it really isn't needed. My lawyer said it was a must to take my case so I had to.

I also enjoy running although lately I haven't really had the time. I love reading mostly historical Mexican American history....stuff like that. Also anything involving my kid.

For those who are still waiting! How long have you been waiting?
Brookness replied to Perla's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
My brother and I went in on the same day. The only difference was I was scheduled to go in 11/29. Did it like 20 days in advanced. Today I came to the realization along with wise words from my Ama that I have to let things just be. It will come when I least expect it. So I propose the same to everyone who is waiting. Lets hope for the best and keep ourselves busy. Congratulate those who get their permits before us. So that when we get ours we will have people who will congratulate us.keep me posted.....would love to congratulate you when it comes even if you get it before me! -
Traveling WITHIN the US (Domestic)

Once you all get your I.Ds it is the only thing that you have to present when you fly. -
You need to take a deep breath and relax. I can feel the stress by reading your statement. I'm in the same boat I went to do my bios at the beginning of the month and have not heard a thing still in initial review. Today however I made the choice to not worry about it. We will get confirmation when we least expect it. Same with you when you least expect it, it will happen. We all have so much to offer stay positive no use worrying and making yourself sick. Keep us posted.

Hi Ignacio, stay positive and best of luck with your process. Let us know when you get approved!

First thing you will do after deferred action?
Brookness replied to Admin's topic in General Discussions
I want to apply at the hospital my Ama use to work at. Then go get my C.A I.D and walk into a bar in New Port Beach, and tell them to go to hell. .....people in Newport Beach are dicks about I.Ds btw. Then school, car, reopen my bank account. And finally my hubby and I can take that honeymoon to Hawaii we never took due to my statues. I can't wait ya'll!- 27 replies

This is totally true, Mi Ama is the same way. She is a firm believer that education is important. She has encouraged myself and brothers to get college degrees. She is taking college classes. What you are promoting is really a great idea! Here in Santa Ana elementary, C.Cs and even churches have language out reach programs, so not having the money is not an excuse.

You have had so much happen and remained hopeful. That Sir is truly inspiring. I hope that this process goes smoothly, and keep us posted. I said it before, we are a community to support, encourage, and uplift when we get discouraged.

I am going to let things happen, not stress and trust that this will come full circle!

I would love a Red Jetta, with all the amenities. I however get my husbands 2005 Honda which is now paid off, and he gets to buy an S.U.V. I plan on trading that sucker in and getting my OWN girlie car. But first is getting the notice that I have been approved then DL, then all will be gravey!

Congrats you are one step closer! I had the same cool aid smile when I went in. Except the guard had to take a double look. I have an I.D and it has my husbands name on it. also my name is Brook....he just took one look at my daughter and put two and two together...lol! Let us know how things are going! We are here to support, encourage, and uplift each other when we hit some discouragement. -
Not too long, it will usually happen super early in the morning. Mine came in at around 5:45 am. I said a few cuss words...who could be texting anyone at that hour...lol. To my surprise it was USCIS! On a side not to those with lawyers. Whatever law office is representing you will get your paperwork first. My office received all my notices and then they forward them to me. If you happen to be with an extremely busy law office it takes time for them to mail you, youUSCIS notices. You might as well start getting chummy with the staff because you are paying, they represent you, and calling should always be an option that you have. Any questions or concerns give then a call. Best of luck!

I just came across your question and as long as you can prove that your relationship is valid..meaning pictures, common friends and family you should be ok. I have an I-130 filled because my husband petitioned me in 2007 and we were basically sitting ducks waiting for something that would allow me to stay without the whole mess of leaving and waiting out side the country. Our lawyer advised us to to ahead with Daca, and then petition a permit to leave the country and then come back legally (stamp on the passport and everything) and then petition for residency. According to him it would take a matter of six to eight months. I know some people that did the whole fake marriage and got caught. From what I know USCIS askew you very personal questions, only questions one would know about a significant other. You should be fine, but research a good lawyer so you don't waste thousands do bucks like we did. good luck!! P.S wouldn't it be awesome to get married and be able to travel to say Hawaii for a Honeymoon!

I think that conversation should happen to those friends that really need to know. I came out to my friends in high school and one of them made fun of me every opportunity she got. Ironically she ended up marrying a guy in my situation. Needless to say she became more sympathetic to the issue. A teacher who I confided on actually tried his best to help and even wrote me a letter of recommendation for when something like this came up. I should say it will be something that I will be eternally grateful for since he was a highly decorated Colonel in the Army. Some will understand why your are so guarded and cautious, others will look at you in a different light, others might pity you and some friends you might lose all together. I
