Hi. I have a couple questions to ask to whomever that lives in California. I have this unique case where my i-821d case approved but i-765 pending. A couple days ago, Ab 2189 finally became effective that grants DL to people who are qualified for DACA. My questions are: 1. Can I go to dmv tomorrow and apply with my i-821d approval letter and govt issued id without providing SSN? 2. Does this law also applies for the ID? Cause it would be great if I could just get the ID first before I take the driving test. Thanks

i filled out everything by myself. im hoping to get my i765 before the 90 days is up. im going nuts just waiting for it

if we look up the i-765 app, its still initial review. yep. thats why we can't really call them and ask. they'd just tell us to wait till the 90 days.

from other forums i've talked to, MOST people get both approved at the same time. some get their i765 first, and some, get their i821d. unfortunately, we're part of that unfortunate group. at least the people who got their i765 first could apply for their ssn.

i have not because apparently its no use since they have 90 days after DACA approved to approve the i765

im on the same boat OP. my i821d approved december 10th, but not my i765 :/
