LOL so funny you say that! I'm on my 5th book in 2 weeks hahaha! If you like horror books, check out Jack Kilborn's novels. They're easy, fun reads! -

Yes! Thank you! I decided a while ago I was going to just STOP. Stop obsessing and stop giving myself deadlines in my head lol By thanksgiving, by my birthday, by Christmas....! Dude, whenever it happens, it'll be much sooner than it would be otherwise! But it does make me very excited and happy every time I see one of us get approved on here!! -

Congratulations Jose!!!!!!! -
if you are a guy what do you want for christmas.
amor replied to lapancha77's topic in General Discussions
Oh you guys are so boring with your "nothing's better than special family moments" comments!!! Obviously Christmas would be nothing if we didn't spend it with our family and friends but don't even try to play it off like you don't turn into giddy 5 year olds again when you get presents! That's the fun of Christmas, is getting fun things for your loved ones that they wouldn't buy for themselves! Now shut your faces and admit what you REALLY want! -

How long after Biometrics to get approved?
amor replied to Rickyerique's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Oh absolutely. I have a feeling that we're just sitting in a pile on someone's desk waiting since they've received the floods of people applying after the election. Hopefully once they start moving this traffic jam, we'll be the first one's notified. Fingers crossed and minds occupied!! -
What do you plan to do after you get your EAD?

I've decided to apply to work for MAC (cosmetics) and have them train me to get my cosmetology license. Anyone have experience with that?? -

Oh my goodness Lonewolf! I never even realized the problem with getting a fishing license! How ridiculous! I'm happy for you! That'll be the best tasting dinner EVER -
I calculated from my biometrics until now! Yes... This can easily turn into a very negative situation if you don't force yourself to relax and to be proactive in doing positive things. I keep reminding myself that's it's important when, just that I get approved. It's a blessing enough! Woooooossssaaaahhhhh.... *yoga pose*

Haha that sounds awesome Gzuz! I am getting my motorcycle license and getting an apartment with my boyfriend!! :-) Definitely going to a bar every single night just so I can whip out my Mass ID!!!!! OH! And finally putting my company under MY NAME. :-) So happy. -
Damnit! That just brought me all the way down from 51 to 37! LOL Well, at least the number isn't so depressing anymore haha thanks!

Don't think of yourself as undocumented anymore. Take a positive spin on the situation. You absolutely qualified for DACA so it's a matter of "when" and not "if". Tell them that you were sure your process would be finalize in time after seeing how fast it was moving but it slowed down a little after the election. I know this is a really nerve-wracking situation but don't feel so emotional or insecure about it. Keep reminding yourself of your skills and that they WANT you and this is just logistics you have to figure out. Only thing I really, really believe is that you should give them a heads up YESTERDAY. Do not go in on your first day and let them figure it out or try to explain. Crossing my fingers for you! This is so emotional for us but its just a number and taxes for everyone else. It's like losing your ID and waiting for a new one! Lol except not! Haha but really... Be confident and positive. If they have a problem with it, on to the next! You're a working woman now!
-
You should absolutely tell them the truth but tweak it a tad by telling them you applied in August a while before they offered you the job and you expected to receive your paperwork in time. Do not mention the fake social whatsoever and lose the guilt! You're not going to use it anymore and you have something legit and real that you're going to be able to use. I would absolutely not take less wages because of this. I assume they offered you this position for a reason. I would put in writing how much you're looking forward to working for them and see if they'd be willing to let you start later. I would feel it out from there. We're in the workforce now! You're legit and talented! Good luck!!!!
