Can Deferred Action Recipents Can Or Can't Get Public Assistance?
Theresa replied to God_why_m3's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
You have to have legal status and DACA does not give legal status. Public assistance is government benefits. -
Have you been approved for DACA? I think you'll be fine.

Can Deferred Action Recipents Can Or Can't Get Public Assistance?
Theresa replied to God_why_m3's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
You cannot get public assistance while being on DACA for yourself but your baby can. But if she is already receiving it through another case, it needs to be dropped before. She cannot be on more than one case. -
Yes, it also on her authorization of employment card #A

They will cash your check immediately unless something is missing with your application. 1 to 7 days... ~The process goes much faster when you use MONEY ORDER from United States Post Office~ Just a note I picked up from the UCIS websites...

All this person needs to do is register to a school to obtain GED, send the proof of registration, schedule and attendance sheet, and put "currently in school" for the education part. You do have to stay in school to complete GED though but you can get your work permit while you are in school if approved before completing GED.

They do check about that because there is someone who did the schooling but unfortunately, the school was not certified by the school board of the state, She did not know the certificate was not ligite and so yes, she did get an RFE.

I would sign up to a school ASAP and explain yourself. That you are currently in a school program leading towards GED. Send enrollment, schedule, attendance sheet etc. or don't explain yourself, just send everything? Good luck
-
Also, The requirement is to have the certificate or to show proof of being enrolled in school to get your GED or high school diploma. Just make sure it's accredited.

Am I Eligible For The Dream Act?
Theresa replied to dream_chaser's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Very admirable but unfortunately, they consider that ineligible for DACA. You had to be 15 years old. . Hopefully dream act or immigration reform will pass soon. You have come a long ways with college and everything, hopefully soon something greater and better will come and you'll be one of the people they would want to approve become legal because of the formal education you have achieved. -
