I sent my application/evidence in on August 15th. I got a text the 22nd saying it was rerouted to Nebraska. I received my I797c, which is my receipt for my applications on the 25th. Unfortunately during this process I moved, so I had to make address changes... It was very stressful and sad to see everyone getting their biometrics except me.. I call USCIS to inquire about this and as usual the customer represantitves are very evasive and not helpful at all..theyre scripted and read everything from the USCIS website,..thanks..I could have done the same thing.. I call USCIS on the 17th of September to inquire about my biometrics and the agent wants to end the call quickly..I insist saying it says on your website that if its been 30 days that Ive sent my application and havent received my biometrics appt, inquire about info... The agent goes on to say that she can give me info only if its been 30 days that they received the application...I counter respond saying the website indicates 30 days from when I sent it in..and I ask for another represantitive.. I wait 30 minutes and speak to an officer.. He tells me theres good/bad news... Good news, they did send my biometrics but it must have gotten lost..bad or maybe good news..my biometrics appointment is TODAY, the 17th at 11am.. It was 9am in tx, I only had 2 hrs to get to my appt to get in.. But I had no notice and wouldnt be able to get it..they wont email it so you can print it, they faxed it to my mother in law and I picked it up on my way to my appt. My biometrics were done in less than 15 minutes..office was empty... Now just waiting for EAD and pondering where Ill be applying to work and working on resume...

By what month will we be able to work, after doing biometrics?
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Lounge
I agree Rawf but even with the background checks coming out clear, they still have to approve the i821 and the "evidence" that was sent in is valid or sufficient for them.. -
Good luck and welcome....
-
I put mine in my application because Ive never used it to work and if I didnt list it, I didnt want it to seem like I was hiding anything, because itll come out in the background check...

For anyone who already have taken their biometrics test, what should we expect?

I also think its only one appointment for hte biometrics for both i821d and i765..why would you go back and do it twice..it isnt like your fingerprints changed.. -

How to obtain a Social Security Number after DACA Approval
itzel replied to JoseG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Im not 100% sure but even after one applies for a SS card and it takes the few days to get to you via mail, I think they give you a receipt witht the SS number youll be using..so one can start applying for jobs...kind of like when you apply for an id or dl, they give you a temporary paper while yours gets in the mail. -

I honestly think this process can go by faster, if you send in your applications filled out correctly, fees, and supporting documents and background checks come clear, they should be approved immediately... -

Good luck Millie and I would also stress out that on the biometrics appointment letter it says national id, which is interpreted as a valid government issued id. -
The first few letters on your receipt number are the letters for where your case is being processed. Mine starts with LIN and its being processed in Lincoln NE.

I dont see why they wont take your "matricula" it states in the biometrics notice that a national id is allowed and a "matricula" would be considered a national id because it was issued by another country. -

I had been very stressed out the past week to see that everyone had received their biometric appointments, and I decided to call USCIS. I was given the good/bad news that they did send out my biometrics appointments and that it was in 2 hours... How was I to go to my appointment if I didnt have an ASC notice to take in? They asked me for a fax number which I dont have because they cant email it to you to just print out. Thank God my mother in law has a fax number so they faxed it to her and I got in to my appointment. I went to the ASC office located in El Paso TX. When I arrived, a security guard took my ASC biometrics appointment notice and my ID, I used my "matricula consular" because its a government issued ID and its not expired yet, I also took in birth certificate just in case as proof. I got there and it was EMPTY. There were only 2 other persons there and they werent even my age, they were elderly. I was asked to fill out a form with sex, weight, hair color, eye color, etc.. After that I was called to the back where my fingerprints and photo were taken along with my signature. In all this process took LESS than 15 minutes.....SUPER HAPPY!!!! -
Sooooo pissed off..i just called USCIS....I have my appt today at 11am and I didnt get the biometrics notice....so I had to have it faxed to my mother in laws..pick it up there and then go to the ASC office..wish me luck...BIOMETRICS TODAY!!!!!!!

I actually watched all this video. GREAT post and very informative. My only question is when was this conference held? Date? -
As I said before, to each their own. I personally like to follow the directions on the letter of biometrics. The main word here is IF, they accept you earlier. Yes, there is a chance of being taken earlier but theres also the chance of being turned away. I personallly, wont be doing that. But, if you do that, I hope they do take you in and wish you good luck with that.

Even if they have the letter in hand, the letter states a specific day and time to go in, why go in and seem over eager and risk being turned away? Ive always believed that rules/laws/regulations/guidelines are there for a reason. They are placed so that they may be followed, not as a decorative purpose.
