What kind of paperwork will I need?
itzel replied to AndresG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Andres G: I dont think itll affect you presenting the old expired visa, but it'd help more to get a government issued consulate card. I have one and I'll be using it to identify myself. Good luck -
What kind of paperwork will I need?
itzel replied to AndresG's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Andres: You should get in the forums and read all the topics, they answer most of your questions but heres the info: I started with the immunization card I was issued when I was enrolled in school. I have a vaccination card from my home country (Mexico) and when my mother showed that, all that information was transfeered to a Texas immunization card. I have the final report cards from kindergarten to middle school. I have all my student ids issued in middle school and high school. I have the final school transcript from my high school. I have my high school diploma. I have paperwork showing I took online community college classes. I have certificates issued for being a volunteer at different childrens schools. When I was able to afford my own apartment, I have the leases and bills under my name. I tend to be OCD and have them organized by date and utility. Thats all I got for now... -
ICE agent faces suspension for arresting illegal immigrant
itzel replied to Admin's topic in Dream Lounge
I understand they are doing their job, but I think they seem to forget that things change daily. THE PRESIDENT has issued new instructions. Hes not asking if they want to follow these instructions, he's telling you to change their way of arresting illegal immigrants. Arrest high priority, let low priority go. I honestly believe many of them (citizens) feel threatened that we are coming into the work force. They think we'll come and take their specific jobs away...they need to seriously get over themselves and be more mature. We want to find our own way... The man who was interviewed seriously needs to stop being an asshole like dream said or stick his head out of his own ass and get informed regarding this policy. Seriously, ignorance is soo surprising in a person whos supposed to be representing ICE.- 3 replies

This is for $34 with FREE Priority Shipping Expedited Shipping Available. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate. The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is: Certification by Translator I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________. klaudiaklau: Regardless of the 2 years with DACA, you can go to school or not, its up to you. DACA stops you from being deported and lets you work, wherever you can find a job, with or without college. -
Notarized/translated Birth Certificate?
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
You're welcome. I found a business who can translate, certify and notarize it for $34. Please dont get ripped off, I dont recommend letting anyone charge you over $50. If so, they're being greedy. Good luck -
Rodrigovela17: If you read my response and pswa83 responses, you'd see your questions were answered. Lets break it down by listing your questions. 1.Do you have to apply to deffered action first, get accepted and then apply for the work permit ? When you submit your deferred act application, you will also submit your employment authorization application (work permit) 2.I was wondering because don't you need some type of number for the work permit application? I dont understand this question, when you say number, Im assuming you're referring to a social security number. Your social security number will be assigned to you after your employment application is approved. Is this all clear? If not, let me know, I'll try and help you the best I can.

Tano123: You can google notarized/translated birth certificate (name of are you live in) and get information on that. -
KIng: The approximate time for the application process is unclear at this moment. It is expected that the sooner you apply the faster you can be seen through. Ive read on several websites it could be as little as 3 months but as long as 12 months if theres alot of applicants. We'll wait and see if they release any new info regarding that question on the 15th. Good luck

Hi: New guidelines were released on friday with new information regarding DACA. We are trying to apply for DACA because the Dream Act hasnt passed. Heres some important info: How do I request consideration of deferred action for childhood arrivals? Beginning August 15, 2012, you will be required to submit your request for consideration of deferred action to USCIS through a form, along with a form requesting an employment authorization document. The total fees will be $465. USCIS is still developing the forms and will be submitting them to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. Pending OMB clearance, the forms and instructions will be available on the USCIS website on August 15, 2012. Do not submit any request to USCIS before these forms are available. All requests received before August 15, 2012, will be rejected. Heres the link to the new guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD Good luck

jperezga: Hi, you came in with a student visa but mention that your visa will expire in a few weeks and until then you'll be out of status. The guidelines release yesterday by DACA say that you'd qualify if: Entered without inspection before June 15, 2012, or your lawful immigration status expired as of June 15, 2012; It seems to me that you dont qualify, but maybe if you speak an attorney or a non profit organization, they can help better. Heres the link for the DACA guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD Good luck

klaudiaklau: what do you mean when you ask if beauty college will do or if you'll have to go higher than that? -
ive been looking online pswa83 and i found a place that uscis accepts and theyre charging 25. im going to call the consulate monday and see if theyd do it for less.. just trying to find the best price...after all money doesnt grow on trees...lol

Wonderfully said pswa83, you might want to add what type of documentation they'll need or the most important one. Two documents that seem to be coming up a lot is a passport; and getting your birth certificate notarized/translated. I personally dont plan on getting a passport. I have a mexican consulate id card and im still in the process of getting my birth certificate translated.

klaudiaklau: Hi. Even if youve been working five years under a false SS#, it shouldnt affect you, but itd be good if you contacted a non profit organization in your area that can help you out. Those 5 years youve received stubs which show continuous presence in the country but an attorney can better guide you. If you apply and it isnt accepted this is what yesterdays guidelines say: If USCIS does not exercise deferred action in my case, will I be placed in removal proceedings? If you have submitted a request for consideration of deferred action for childhood arrivals and USCIS decides not to defer action in your case, USCIS will apply its policy guidance governing the referral of cases to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the issuance of Notices to Appear (NTA). If your case does not involve a criminal offense, fraud, or a threat to national security or public safety, your case will not be referred to ICE for purposes of removal proceedings except where DHS determines there are exceptional circumstances. For more detailed information on the applicable NTA policy visit www.uscis.gov/NTA. If after a review of the totality of circumstances USCIS determines to defer action in your case, USCIS will likewise exercise its discretion and will not issue you a Notice to Appear. In other words, as long as you werent denied because of a criminal offense, fraud or threat to the country, you wont be deported. Welcome to the forum and good luck

Mayra: You're welcome. We're here to help each other out. Dont be nervous. You'll be fine. What you can do is ask family members or friends that are currently working, if they will have any job openings at their work. If they do, as soon as you have a social security number you know where to apply. Good luck to you too.
