Mayra: You cant apply for jobs if you dont have a valid social security number.
-
Read the guidelines Mayra: They'll release where to apply or how to submit the 15th along with the application. Heres the link: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

Mayra: Did you read the guidelines that were released yesterday by the USCIS? It states the following: Filing Process How do I request consideration of deferred action for childhood arrivals? Beginning August 15, 2012, you will be required to submit your request for consideration of deferred action to USCIS through a form, along with a form requesting an employment authorization document. The total fees will be $465. USCIS is still developing the forms and will be submitting them to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review. Pending OMB clearance, the forms and instructions will be available on the USCIS website on August 15, 2012. Do not submit any request to USCIS before these forms are available. All requests received before August 15, 2012, will be rejected. Couldnt have said it better pswa83, I also think we need to mention that most likely we'll need a notarized and translated copy of our birth certificate. Im still working on getting mine...we'll see how it goes..do you remember the link yesterdays shared in the shoutbox that mentions this notarized/translated birth certificate?

John89: Ive had this discussion before with other DREAMERS and we agree one of the best documents to prove your time in the country is an immunization card. That should have more weight than an affidavit because and affidavit can be questioned. Good luck...

Mayra: The guidelines that were released yesterday just say they'll release the application the 15th and they'll give further instructions then. Heres the link: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=f2ef2f19470f7310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD

jriz1: Ive read somewhere that no, you wouldnt be able to apply for military under DACA. Heres the link: http://forum.adreamact.com/topic/17-deferred-action-faq/page__hl__military
-
Tano123: Even if Romney gets to be president, if you applied for DACA and were approved then you'll be fine at least for 2 years, even if he removes it. Yes, he'd veto the DREAM Act which is why we're hoping he wont win. I think you should apply if you qualify. I think we're headed in the right direction and they can't just leave us hanging in the limbo. Lets be positive, we'll be all right. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

Itd be wise to show that paperwork too, because if your immunization card has your moms husband last name, that might cause some confusion.

Hi josecaca: Welcome to the forum and keep up the good work at your university...this news couldnt have come at a better time for you.
-
Hopefully...you're welcome.

You're welcome

asanchez: We're not sure if we'll be paying all those fees on the 15th. We were hoping for information to be released yesterday, clarifying those details, but hopefully we'll have them soon. The fee for the Deferred Act (DACA) isnt even 100% guaranteed to be $465, it may change but we'll wait for future announcements. For sure there'll be a $380 fee for the I-765, employment authorization application and $85 for biometrics (fingerprinting)
-
asanchez: Ok, the judge and the police officer said that and lets hope its true. Ive learned from past personal experiences not to believe what anyone tells me, unless I have proof (documentation) that can validate what theyre saying. Its nothing personal against you or your case. Heres the link to find non profit organizations near your area: http://www.immigrationadvocates.org/nonprofit/legaldirectory/ Good luck
-
You mention the cops took your information down wrong? Was this a mistake on their behalf or did you provide them with incorrect info? Either way, I'd suggest an attorney due to the incorrect info and just to make sure that incident was erased from your record. Good luck.
-
You can start applying when the applications are released. They should be released by the 15th and hopefully accepted the 15th of August. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

There hasnt been a mention of a time limit being imposed, but it seems it is the sooner you get your application in, the faster the process can go.

I really enjoy PBS documentaries because they simplify the information and they remind me of the childhood shows I used to watch like the Magic School Bus and Sesame Street. Thanks for sharing Dream.

tgif: Im almost certain all of that will show up. If you go to the USCIS website and look up the employment authorization application I-765, it asks if you have used any ss#, to name them. If I were you, Id recommend an attorney...

First thing you will do after deferred action?
itzel replied to Admin's topic in General Discussions
To do anything, I need $. First get a job. Then in Tx the fastest way for an adult to get a drivers license is go to driving school. Then perhaps apply for scholarships for college classes, even online classes would do for me. I don't mind waiting to get a car, a job and school are my top priorities but I mention driving school because I wouldn't mind borrowing my boyfriends car- 27 replies

It does seem to me many may not qualify due to lack of information. One has to keep themselves informed and follow this important news. It's news we've been waiting for all our lives. Pick it up people!!
