Unfortunately they will be giving you the run around because cases are piling up becasue so many people have been applying. I'd still insist by calling the USCIS after my 6 month wait..
-
Good luck to you and you should hear something by April 7th which is 15 business days...if not you should call again and request to speak to a level 2 officer, that's what I'd do..

i assume youve been doing your taxes with an ITIN #, if so..maybe that can be used as proof..

Best Credit Cards To Apply For After Daca
itzel replied to dreamerinnc's topic in Life After Deferred Action
I applied for Capital One Rewards and yeah the APR is s*** but I'm getting mad money back from each purchase...eventually I'll call them after at the most a year and request a lower APR or threaten to go with someone else, that simple... -
ok, your phone was under your bf name but did he call the phone company and give your name as a person on the account to make changes to the account if necessary? if so, that may be some proof..what about dr. appts?

I'm just like Fredo..all my docs, TX ID, TX DL, SS, EAD, HS diploma have only my first and last name. My birth certificate has 2 last names but whenever I apply for things I only put 1 last name. As an assistant to a paralegal, I asked and was told if asked in the future for aliases, I'll have to put apart from my first and last name, my first name and 2 last names. I filled out my DACA applications with just 1 last name, and had no problem whatsoever...

I'd file an extension and since I dont' know your timeline but you mentioned waiting since november, you may consider calling USCIS and checking the status of your case. Good luck.

No papertrail what so ever? Receipts from ebay, bank statements, anything would help. I'm not sure on if you present the W2 and paystubs if it'll affect your process.

What To Apply For First After Daca Approval?
itzel replied to Oyuky_olivo's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Its not hard, a bit nerve wrecking because its the 1st part of the test and if you dont make it then theres no point of doing the rest of the test. Possibly but I had to wait because I already had a SS# and just needed the new card taking off the restriction I had. -

I found it through google, same as Arcane I was on DAP, but its too crowded...started at the beginning of the forum, on July 17 2012 a day after my b-day..I mean seriously look at that reputation...im the sh*****...lmao...jk....used to be a moderator, but immediately after getting EAD found a job at a law firm going to school at the same time and have been too busy to log on as often as I'd like and therefore was dropped as a moderator which is fine, some one else with more time would be more helful than me. Have found some great friends who Im FB friends with and also found some annoying people too who I just ignore but overall Im happy to have found this forum and even shared the forum's FB page on my page.

Soo busy at work and school, applying for financial aid and getting $1000 in TX is great...Happy Spring Break!!!
-
HI. I really think it depends the state you're in. I live in TX and just got $1000 in financial aid from TAFSA. About health care insurance..I have no idea..sorry

I have a job at a law firm and when asked about previous jobs, I was honest about it, "I just legalized and this is my work experience although I was getting paid under the table". Its really up to you if you put that info or answer the question if asked.

I'm with Pswa83 on this one. If I get to be able to work and stay and travel in the country while I wait, then so be it. Farm labor workers must be included in the CIR, they are the ones that do the jobs that "Americans" wont do.

Congrats Santi!!!!

Doing your taxes if you're DACA approved
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
@Reyna: Hopefully you get approved soon and can use your new SS# so that your husband can add your name to the return. @Jerzaim: You can do your taxes anytime, I did them on the 30th with TaxAct and all theyre doing is holding my return until IRS announces it will start accepting those forms that are being delayed. As soon as TaxAct is notified of this, theyll turn mine in. -
Doing your taxes if you're DACA approved
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
If anyone claims their tuition on their taxes it will be on a Form 8863. This form has been added to a list of delayed forms by the IRS. Meaning you cant submit your forms until mid-February. If you filed online with an outfit like TurboTax, TaxAct, etc..they will hold your forms until the IRS announces the date to accept this form. -
Mine expires when I got my EAD, either on the 7th or 9th of October of 2014. Lets hope the CIR does pass and eliminates having to renew every 2 years.

FAFSA is available to US citizens or eligible non citizens. We dont qualify. Heres the link with more info: http://studentaid.ed.gov/eligibility/basic-criteria But there are some states that have a similar form of aid like FAFSA but available only in that state and availble to non citizens (thats us) who have no status, like Texas has the TAFSA.

Doing your taxes if you're DACA approved
itzel replied to itzel's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Ive tried some of those outfits like TurboTax and TaxAct online. When I did the TurboTax, they say I qualify for the EIC which is the Earned Income Tax Credit. With your W-2, it just means more money in your pocket. Well, Turbo Tax qualified me for it. TaxAct didnt. TaxAct didnt because they put me in the non resident category. Now, I understand that with DACA we receive no legal status (citizenship, temporary/permanent residency) but for tax purposes, we actually are put in the resident category. First, to get the EIC, you must be a US citizen or resident aliean all year or nonresident alien married to a US citizen or resident alient and filing a joint return. If you already got approved for DACA, you pass the susbtantial presence test mentioned in Publication 519 found on the IRS website. To be catergorized as a resident you have to pass 1 of 2 tests mentioned in Publication 519. The Green card test, which is pretty much having a green card or the Substantial Presence test, which is being in the country during the tax year for a certain # of days. To be approved for DACA, we need to prove we were in the country for a certain amount of years. Just by being approved for DACA immediately makes you pass the substantial presence test, therefore when you file because you are filing as a "resident" you can claim the EITC. Good luck to all!!! Heres the links to Publication 519 and more about EITC: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p519.pdf http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/EITC,-Earned-Income-Tax-Credit,-Questions-and-Answers -
