  1. Who has a job now after DACA?

Well, I gotta agree with Fabio on this one. I had also noticed that you seem to complain a lot, after having been approved for DACA. But, I really wasnt going to point it out because I dont see you changing your mind. Did you really expect to be approved for DACA and not have the same resposibilities as the citizens of this country? To get a paycheck and have no taxes deducted? Only in your dreams buddy. They(the citizens) are responsible for paying taxes and following the law...we want to be part of this country so we'll do the same. Im just happy I have a job and even if I pay for taxes, it feels good, I feel normal and a part of society. Im sorry that having been approved for DACA has made you soo unhappy. I do recall that upon applying for DACA some of the guidelines on the USCIS website were that our travel outside the country would be limited or not even available. If being approved for DACA makes you soo unhappy, Im sure you can let it expire and not apply again or you can ASAP go to the country you feel would meet all the qualifications. Good luck.
  2. Merry Christmas Everyone!! We have been soo blessed this year and Im sure we and our families will be blessed even more next year!! Lets keep our fingers crossed and our prayers for an immigration reform for all!!

  3. Hello all.

    Welcome!! PS3 RULES!! LOL..j/k.
  4. How has undocumetned status affected your love life? When I was younger, it affected my love life, in the way that I didnt have any serious relationships. Didnt let anyone get too close. I was being the player and just playing the game..just having fun. I found someone, who didnt want to be another notch on my bedpost and actually wanted to have a "serious"relationship. I refused to allow it. He left but he came back and during that time, I learned to miss him and open myself up. He came back and we've been in our relationship for about 4 years and he doesnt judge my situation...hes been as helpful as possible.. How has undocumented status affected your financial and social life? It didnt really affect my financial status because I used to earn very good money...and social life...well I never really went to clubs or bars, so Im barely learning to do that... Do you come out with it or have you kept it a secret and lived a double life so to speak lol.. Ive been pretty honest to people who are close to me..having been undocumented wasnt a sin or mistake on my part. My dad just brought me in the "wrong" way into the country... Have you ever had a hard time breaking it to your friends or just lived in silence like i have Like I said previously, Ive been pretty open with people close to me, if they have the audacity to judge me..they dont deserve to be in my life.. what are certain things youve always wished youve wanted to do through out your life, I also would have liked to join the military...but Im at a stage where Im content and aiming to realize my goals.
  5. RFE !!!

Thats great!! At least you know they received it and will be working on it...Good luck and hope you get approved very soon.

  7. Applying for jobs?

Hi meltop80. Welcome to the forums. I did both, apply online and go in person. It really depends where you apply. Some places take online applications only and some have you print out the application and take it to the place you want to work. I learned from a manager from a local grocery store, that they usually like to hire people that apply online and that come back to the store and follow up on the progress of their online application. He told me it shows your interest in the job. Hope this helps.
  8. Just like Fredo, I also put 0, because yes, they take out more $, but when you do your taxes, you get more back. I think its really personal choice if you put a 0 or 1, because neither is wrong. Good luck to us all and our nice fat checks coming our way!!!
  9. Youre welcome latinagirl and welcome to the forum
  10. Anyone thought about Advanced Parole?

I think if its not an ABSOLUTE emergency, why risk it? Great info Jose
  11. I understand you're upset..but how can we be "legal" slaves if we dont even have legal status to begin with? Remember we're just legally illegal..lol..sorry bad joke..and yeah it sucks..but when 1 door closes..others open...at least you can now work...thats way ahead of how we were a year ago..
  12. @aled: I swear..when I saw my paychecks and saw how much taxes are being deducted, I was like "really, are you freaking kidding me??" Doing our taxes will give us a little back, if you download the app I mentioned in the post, it estimates how much you can receive... @beatriz: I dont have kids and Ill still be getting some money returned..even if its less, at least its something..beggars cant be choosy.
  13. Ill probably do it on my own...its not as hard as it looks, plus my mother in law is an accountant, so I'll have her look it over..
  14. Will it be the end of the world tomorrow?? I dont think so...we all have too much to look forward to and our God is kind..

The end of the mayan calendar never was about the end of the world but about a new cycle starting. Kind of like a new year but of a very long cycle. That's about it. Also, I don't know how we can say when a calendar starts or ends if we don't even know when the one we currently use started.

Noone knows when the world will end. I doubt worlds even end, maybe they change... but end?

  22. USCIS Enlace questions and answers.

Nice article erica..but this part: Q. I sent my application for Deferred Action two months ago and I'm still waiting, but others have been approved already, should I worry? - No, you shouldn't worry. The process can take from 4 to 6 months. There are many people applying for Deferred Action, but if you feel you have any concerns regarding your application you can call USCIS or go to your local USCIS office and ask an officer. I think will cause overload at the offices if people who applied for DACA start going in to speak to an office to inquire about their case...
  23. RFE !!!

What jerks!!! Sorry to hear that Rh_ny...if they dont approve after sending all this extra evidence then they are MORONS!!!
  24. Financial Aid

Up to where I know, no. Only citizen and residents can apply. However if youre in TX there is another form of FAFSA called TAFSA, I included this link for more info: http://www.garlandisd.net/departments/guidance_counseling/plan_for_college/fa_fafsa_tafsa.asp Good luck
