Well, I received my EAD on April 06,2013 and I went to go apply for my ssn today, and they told me i should've waited 10 days, they put the application through anyway and gave me a receipt saying it could take up to 4 weeks for me to receive a social. Hope its sooner, but I had no idea I had to wait any amount of time. I guess every office is different. Im in Indiana btw -

I've been waiting for a long time too.. I sent my application in early Oct. and was received on the 11th. I didn't get a biometrics appointment til Feb. 5th, and now yesterday, March 6th I got a message saying that my application has been transferred to my local USCIS office. (previously in VERMONT) I called the customer service # to see if they had more info on where it was sent, and she said they didn't have that information..Hopefully this doesn't take too much longer :/
