This is like a pregnancy. Excited and nervous at the same time. Hoping all is well at the end, even though I'm a guy. Sent in my packet August 30th and they received it September 4th. Spoke with a rep today and first requested a service request but he let me know that they are currently reviewing the application is August 31, 2012 (today 5/10/2013) and that I should wait until Tuesday, May 14th to get approved. If I don't get approved, he recommended to call back on Wednesday and schedule a service request. This is a bit of good reassurance and I just don't know how much of it is true and I'm just hoping for the best whether it be by Tuesday or the end of May. Received: 9/4/12 Biometrics: 10/2/12 No RFE Vermont Service Center Any thoughts on this, hope this bit of info helps. Anybody receive the same info recently or before?

Hello all, I am new on this forum. I have been waiting close to 7 months already. I mailed in my application in late August, just two weeks after the start date of August 15. My question is, for those that check your case status online and have gotten approved already, did it change to a 'Decision' bubble online first and then you go the letter by mail or the other way around? I am guessing it would be changed online first about a decision and days later you would get the official letter? Who else has been waiting 6+ months and in what state are you in? I am in NC and my paperwork is in Vermont.

Does it have to be my closest SSA office or can I go to one in another city? Does it really matter?

If it is more than 180 days it is a concern according to the calculator. I'm basing this on my own situation where they received it in 9/4 and was approved May 22. Exactly 180 business says. Or 8.5 months overall since they received it 9/4

I got approved finally yesterday May 22. I was notified by text message and e-mail. Got several alerts throughout the day. My EAC was approved first around noon and my deferred action around 6pm. It was the most amazing moment and could not believe it. I had been waiting since September 4, 2012. 8 and a half months. And exactly 6 months with business days. So that calculator worked for me. I sent it in at the end of August and did Bios October 2nd and next Saturday it will be 8 months. According to the calculator, I have waited 5.56 months out of 6. So by May 22 it should be the exact 6 months. Hoping I get approved in the coming weeks!

Alequiroz -- what's your timeline? You say your coming up on 8 months this late April?

Send in late August, received Sept 4 and did Biometrics on October 2. Been waiting almost 7 months.

Hey man, my was also received September 4th and had my biometrics done October 2nd. It's march 28th and still waiting. Where are you located?

Hey Juan. It seems that I called the same day as you did March 26th about a service request. They told me the same thing. To wait by April 10 about an email or letter to be sent to me. Today, 3/29 I got an email as a receipt and the info about it currently being reviewed as an answer to the request. I've been waiting seven months on April 4. Did biometrics on 10/2 a month after them receiving it. Hope this helps.
