you are lucky that your union is going to battle for you. I just moved to Texas from California and what helped my initial permit, or at least I think it did, was that I contacted Loretta Sanchez since she is in charge of the area where I used to live which was Anaheim, and she sent a letter to the service center for me and I got approved a few days later. Im curious of where you work. I lived in California all my life, graduated college and was not able to get a good job after I got approved. Good for you tho.

I Am Worried About The Future Of Daca
sotero_gonzalez replied to nisha90's topic in General Discussions
I think about DACA being terminated too. I have a family that depends on me now and it would be almost impossible to provide for them if I can't work or keep the job that I currently have thanks to DACA. I have been in the U.S since I was 4 years old. I am 29 right now and I still haven't found a way to obtain my residency. I am married to a U.S citizen and I have been considering that advanced parole idea yet I don't have a concrete approval rate that makes me want to do it. If anything happens I wouldn't know what to do. There is no one left from my family in Mexico and since I have never been there, wouldn't know the first thing to do if I ever got deported and was forced to return. Praying every Sunday for this to lead to something a bit more permanent. -
if you apply for the advanced parole would you still be able to renew your daca?

No Job Experience, And Only Two Weeks Of Volunteer Work, How Do I Write A Resume?
sotero_gonzalez replied to Cincin's topic in Resume/Job Help
include any and all volunteer work, that is always a plus and well it doesn't really matter if you don't have a lot of experience, you should focus more on how to present yourself when you get called for an interview and how to sell your skills to whatever job you apply. having a resume does help but honestly a lot of people aren't really looking for one if its an entry level job because they assume that you don't have much experience. -
I worked with a fake ss# since I was 15 years old too. I got approved last year and I also don't have any criminal record. I think most people on here have worked with a fake ss# or gotten paid under the table. Hopefully you have been on top of your taxes because from what I have read that is very important.

Hi Everyone New To Forum!!!! Help From Ppl Under Daca Plz
sotero_gonzalez replied to joanni's topic in Introduce Yourself
Key word is wait, don't get carried away or start to think negative or that you may be denied, like Armando said, its up in the air on how long your case will take to get approved so keep yourself occupied, one thing I did was not check my status every day, do it like every month or so and you will get approved in no time. -

Are There Any Restrictions On Where We Can Work With Daca
sotero_gonzalez replied to sotero_gonzalez's topic in Resume/Job Help
I was denied because I only have the work permit. I still think they should make a note of that on their application because all its says on there is if you are eligible to legally work in the U.S and it has a box to mark yes or no. They don't ask for a social or anything nor do they say that to work there you require at least permanent residency status. I did research and I couldn't find anything solid on line and not even their HR department knew the details for being able to work there. I went to the initial interview, I took the mandatory exam of 60 multiple choice questions that consisted of math and interviewing skills and I missed a total of 3 and when I went to the second interview they just told me after reviewing my application they had determined that I wasn't able to work there because I have only a work permit. They should've just said so in the first place instead of making me take days off school and my current job to make the interviews and the test. Damn!!! -
Has Anyone Filed An Amended Tax Return!!1040X I Need Help
sotero_gonzalez replied to orozcomari's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I filed for the 1040x in may after I got my ss# and the waiting time was supposed to be 8 to 12 weeks and im still waiting. I keep calling and they just give me a date to call back and they don't really give me any info about what is going on. I cant really see any updates on line so I always had to call. At this point im not even counting on that $ anymore. -
I took it back in june, I had to wait for 3 hrs for my number to be called and I read the manual once and practiced on the dmv no app. Took the test and missed 2. I would suggest to read the manual, it really covers everything.

I don't think its true. A lot of people I know stopped going to school once approved for DACA and are just working now. However there's nothing more powerful than an education. You should keep trying to get into this vocational school and if you can then work AND go to school. Just my 2 cents.

Immigration Reform To The Back Of The Line
sotero_gonzalez replied to Santi's topic in Dream Act News
Hopefully it doesn't turn out like back in 01' where the 911 attacks took the attention away from everything. That being said, let's cross our fingers and pray that we don't send troops to Syria or else I'm afraid the same thing might occur. Also, this should be motivation for everyone that's able to go to a march/rally to actually go and support the movement. Let's not stop participating just because we got approved for our DACA!- 1 reply

Anyone In So Cal With Limited Or No Credit Trying To Buy A Car..
sotero_gonzalez replied to sotero_gonzalez's topic in Create a Poll
Probably, from what I've heard and seen he's one of the few people there that know how to pull strings and get people approved. My family has been going with him since 02'. -
Yeah man congrats

I noticed that more than half of the assholes complaining about the kid singing the anthem cant even spell out their frustration correctly and using ignorant words to describe him. just goes to show how stupid narrow minded racist people are. its easy to coward and hide behind a computer and write shit like that. what was really surprising was all of the black people I saw on there making stupid comments. damn, seriously! given their past experiences with racism they should be the LAST ones talking shit. but I guess like everything else, la raza usually becomes the scapegoats for all the new bullshit. I cant wait when once again we become the majority in the U.S. cant wait. like George Lopez said, "your going to have to go to a museum to see a white person". HAHA!

Hi Guys I Haven't Posted Anything In A Long Time
sotero_gonzalez replied to srs's topic in Dream Lounge
wow that's a long time. whats your timeline? have they sent anything back to you like an rfe? have you tried for a service request? did you contact your congressman/woman and ask them to look into your case since they have the power to do that and ask why its taking soo long? -
ive read this a few times in the forum where the same thing has happened to others. sometimes it does take a few hours but sometimes it takes a bit longer.
