Already did brother.

They received my application a day before yours. I just got a service request yesterday so hopefully that helps.

I have been waiting since october. My advice like everyone else tells me on here, try to keep busy and not think about it. It seems the more you check you status and complain about the wait, the longer it takes. There's no absolute processing time so its up in the air. I've seen some get approved within weeks and others after 6 to 8 months. Ill be waiting 7 months on the 9th. So try to be patient. Our time will come.

Welcome to the forum brother. Glad to hear you didn't quit school and went to community college. Your education is going to be one of the most important things when you get approved so you won't be limited when it comes to getting a job.

Congrats man.

1 year without drinking any alcohol, feels good!

It sure is, I've lost 35lbs since I stopped. Back at my regular weight of 160lbs. It also feels great not to wake up hung over. Ugh! I hated that creepy cold feeling.

Man this is so very misleading when everyone tells you different things. Here I was thinking bad about everyone that had denied me a service request before my 6 month wait. Apparently no one knows what they are talking about at the USCIS. Thanks for correcting me JoseG. Hopefully they give me some positive feedback about my case.

i just did a service request today since every time i called before they would tell me that i couldn't and had to keep waiting. according to the agent i spoke to today, she said they should've contacted me within 90 days but they didn't. hopefully with the service request they can finally tell me what is going on.

not sure, but you wont loose anything by asking.

What's your timeline?

Congrats.

I think you go and get your social first, all you need to take is your ead from what I've read on here. Once you get your social, you go to the dmv. However, I've read that you can get a print out of your social so you can get your DL so you won't have to wait for it.

I faxed the form on Tuesday to congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, hopefully it works for me too. keeping my fingers crossed.

How Do I Do A Service Request?
sotero_gonzalez replied to Martha's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
I tried doing the service request online and it only gives me two options to choose from as reasons for my service request. either a typo or a non delivery appointment notice which none apply to me since I am doing it because its taking forever. did anyone else experience this? -
Help With Deportation Threat During Daca Process..
sotero_gonzalez replied to pretty_sharay's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Something similar happened to my sister. she was with someone and got pregnant, they were both undocumented. My niece was born and shortly after the guy got his residency through his parents and just decided to not be with her or help her financially over night. My sister then told him if he didn't help financially that she was going to ask for child support. Mr high and mighty with his residency threatened to call immigration on her and have her deported. Afraid, she hesitated at first but eventually they ended up in court. In my sisters case, she had a few people testify in her favor that heard the guy threaten her. She eventually got child support from him and she also got a social from all her troubles. This was back in 2000 so I don't know if the same laws still apply today that would help you with your situation. I don't think you should be afraid to take him to court. Like a lot of people are saying on here, they don't care about you not having a social, what they care about is the well being of the child. Also, no one knows to what extent you need financial support but you. So just do it and get what you deserve for taking care of your daughter on your own. -
Is Marriage After Daca Approval A Viable Path To Citizenship?
sotero_gonzalez replied to flatlinebeforedeath's topic in Life After Deferred Action
I got married 2 years ago to a U.S citizen. I have asked many immigration attorneys about the same thing. Most of them said that since I got married before applying for DACA that once approved my wife would be able to petition for me and I would qualify for permanent residency without leaving the country and ultimately citizenship. I don't know the amount of truth behind this but like I said most of them said it is possible, some didn't know. -
I know people that have degrees and are US Citizens and have been unemployed for over a year. You are right, this sounds extremely unfair. We have no control over the economy or unemployment trends.

If Your Case Is Taking Too Long This Might Help!!
sotero_gonzalez replied to Veevee20's topic in Dream Lounge
Did they ever get back to you to confirm that they had a hand in your approval? -
So I called... again... and this time they said that the approvals are taking long because they have discovered a feww applicants that are submitting false information so for any case that raises a red flag to them will require an interview to show all the evidence that was submitted is real. I just read a thread about someone getting a letter for such interview yesterday and the person that helped me with my application had mentioned it to me aswell. I wonder how much longer its going to take with this new hurdle in play. Ugh!

Intial Review Interview Please Help!!!!!!!
sotero_gonzalez replied to mm22806's topic in Dream Lounge
the person that helped me file my application told me that he had heard about these interviews and that the only reason why they are doing this now is because some people had submitted false info so like everyone says, you shouldnt worry if everything you submitted is real and true. good luck. -
Senator Says Boston Attack Should Factor In Immigration Debate !!!!!!
sotero_gonzalez replied to Tonatiuh's topic in Dream Act News
ive seen ladies rockin' coach purses and other high end brands paying with ebt and then jumping into their suv's with rims and everything. i also know a lot of people that are taking advantage of the system and lying to get help when in fact they can afford groceries and other things. those are just people that are ignorant and just get here and exploit the country while the people like us that are actually here for the long run trying to make a good life pay for all their bullshit. they should investigate the type of people they give all of this help to instead of just making it a fill out an application process with limited proof. -
Damn right, we would've finished everything before new years with time to spare for drinks. Haha

7 months coming up too.

Congrats, happy to see some service centers doing their jobs.
