i was actually looking for some sort of actual processing timeline, not like the one that is on the USCIS site, after a few clicks i ended up here and signed up immediately. im glad i did, even told a few friends about it too.

I'm not at the 7 month mark yet but I have no doubts ill get there. I'm at the california service center and I've called a few times and when I used to call before my 6 months were up all they would tell me was that I had to wait that 6 months was the average waiting time. After my 6 months, which was on april 9th, all they tell me now is that they are a bit behind and are currently working on the applications filed on august 31st. I applied in october so it seems they are going to have to go through a whole months worth of applications before they get to mine. I called again yesterday and asked to speak to a level 2 officer and for the second time the person that answered my call told me that there is no such thing. That all the officers there are equally qualified to answer any questions we might have. So I asked for a service request since the website doesn't let me do it and they said that I'm still withing the average waiting time so I can't get one. I don't know if the people working there hate their jobs or hate us but none of the times I've called they've been any help. I understand and I know I may seem arrogant and frustrated and I know all cases are different but if we are all required to send the same information even though some send way more than others, why is it taking soo long?

So you never got any texts or emails about your approval?

When they ask for more evidence do they specify what they need more of? I didn't apply in august because it took me a while to dig up all of my evidence. I basically sent them evrything I had. I wouldn't know what else to send if they ask for more.

my cousins husbans just got deported last week. he got arrested about a month ago in irvine, ca. on his way to work for driving without a license. he got thrown in jail and deported. left my cousin with no job a long with 2 kids, one is 11 and the other 8.

I didn't have a work permit like yourself but I was married once before to a U.S citizen. She was my high school sweetheart and she petitioned for me after we graduated. We got really deep into the process to the point where we were scheduled to show up in Ciudad Juarez for an interview in the consulate down there. Right before we went, I found out she was cheating on me, mad about my discovery, she called the whole thing off and we never showed. This was back in 07' so I don't know if it would matter or make my case a complicated one. Before applying for the DACA I asked half a dozen lawyers about this whole issue and all of them said that it wouldn't affect anything because the DACA was going to be based on childhood arrivals and nothing more.

I know he probably didn't say enough in a 3 minute conversation but by any chance did he mention anything about why a case would be considered a complicated one?

So today marks 6 months of waiting. I called and they told me the same thing, they are currently working on the applications filed on August 31st. Which means since mine was received in October, they still have to process all the applications from september before they can get to mine. That is very frustrating. How can they still be working on applications filed on the month the defferred action was approved. What have they been doing this whole time? I asked to speak to a level 2 officer like suggested and the person that got my call literally asked me what I was talking about since all the officers are at the same level. Really!! It seems they leave you with more questions than answers. The thing they have on the site to calculate your processing time is a joke. They should just take it off and put a big questions mark there because they can't even tell you what they base their fast processing time on. This is too much.

Did they tell you why they sent it to Arizona? Where in cali are you?

what is the alien #? is it the one that starts with the WAC? would you recommend me to do the e request?

ive been calling since day one and all they tell me is to wait until my 6 months are up since they cant really tell me anything regarding my case until ive reached that time, they also told me that they are backed up and that they are asking people to resubmit some stuff so i dont know what to believe.

so if they received my case on october 9th, and my 6 months are up tomorrow, does that mean im going to wait longer? your filed in august and havent gotten anything so they still have to cover one whole month to get to mine?

if you have microsoft word or any other program similar to it, there should be resume templates where you just fill in your information and skills and it does one for you, its not extremely proffesional but it should give you an idea of how they are written and maybe you can create a better for the type of job your looking for. good luck with your job hunt and yeah check out craigslist but be careful, ive heard crazy stories about some jobs on there.

i know a few people that are in the same situation as you, already approved for their DACA and married to U.S citizens. what they told me since they are working with immigration attorneys is that they have to file another form for them to become U.S residents. according to what they said it takes about another 6 months of waiting and what is required is for you to exit the country and come back legally that same day, by legally they said that you would get your passport stamped before you come back in.

yeah, here we are struggling to get a permit when thousands that are citizens throw their opportunities away. i know a lot of people from high school that are citizens that have either been in jail, doing drugs or in gangs. it all seems unfair when we stay out of trouble, try to go to school and still have to fight soo hard to get a permit.

im going to call back on the 10th which will be my 6 month wait, i hope they dont give me another bs excuse about why its taking soo long.
