For my ID I took my Work Permit, school ID, the childhood arrival approval letter, and my selective service registration letter. Paid $16 & got my ID.
No SSN needed for the ID, only the DL.
Yeah I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it as I've heard people say both that you could and that you couldn't...
I went to the social security office today but the wait was so long I was going to miss my class, hopefully ill go earlier tomorrow..
I got my EAD yesterday, went to the DMV early this morning and got my Texas ID without a social. I took my EAD, school Id, and 2 proofs of residency (2 bills in my name).
Got my ID without any problems.

Actually I just read on the Texas DPS website that when applying for DL's a SSN is required, but for the ID it's voluntary.
I'm going to try tomorrow and ill let you guys know what happens!
So I've just received my EAD in the mail today, and I was reading and I saw that some people are stating that in Texas you do not need your SSN to obtain an ID card, is this true? Can anyone verify this information?
Thanks!
