What Are Some Things That Even After Being Daca Approved We Won't Be Able To Do?
pswa83 replied to Rickyerique's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
it's not cities, it's states that wont let you. like arizona, is one of them. -
almost 2 weeks...sorry. but yeah, i was ready to wait a while for approval. shock the hell out of me.
-
i'm pretty sure that if you called again and spoke to someone else, they would have a different reason of why the wait is long. those people read of a script and when they're tried of repeating themselves, they say something else. i'm not in school and i got approved a week after my bios.

What Are Some Things That Even After Being Daca Approved We Won't Be Able To Do?

buy a gun. -
in order to apply for a GC or Citizenship you need to file a petition and also have an immediate relative (meaning that you are under the age of 21) who is a USC. the I-130 and I-485 is needed in order to apply. however, since you applied for DACA then i take it that you do not have a immediate relative (mother, father, siblings) that are USCs. and therefore you can not, as of now, apply for a GC or Citizenship. unless you are married to a USC. in terms of how to go about applying for a GC or Citizenship through CIR, that has not been established yet.

Hola A Todos!! Last Update In Your Case!!
pswa83 replied to latinagirl's topic in General Discussions
what did the update say? march 25th would possible the be date that you can submit a service request if you dont hear anything by then. -
it could be if you're prepared. however, the setup of when they do passports and when they do matricula. like passports one day and marticula the next. but you can always call and ask if you can add the passport to your appt.
-
for your passport, you need your birth certificate. a certified copy of it. it's gotta have a stamp on the back or where ever they put it. ( on my BC it was a purple stamp on the back). you need 2 passport size photos, you can get them done at Rite Aid or Wal-greens. you need something with your name, as it appears on your BC that also has your address. you need to have 2 or 3 copies of all of this as well. you'll need to fill out the passport application and have copies of that too. you can usually google your city and mexican consulate and see if that website will have a passport application that you can download. the fee for the passport is $101 for 6 yrs.

now, after i applied for my SSN, i got my card in the mail like 4 days later. i had already made an appt at the DMV online the day I got my EAD. the SSA says that it can take 14 to 30 days to get your SSN but once the app is approved, it gets mailed real fast. make sure when you apply for your SSN, you have your EAD, your passport (or birth certificate, i used my passport. make sure it's valid). i would also take your approval letters too. also, print this out and take it with you. http://ssa.gov/pubs/deferred_action.pdf there have been some ppl that have gotten a hard time just using their BC. being told that it needs to be translated by someone in their office and what not. just be firm but polite with them. also when filling out the application, check unknown where it ask for your parents SSNs if they do not have one.

you cant get the number right away because the application needs to be approved before a number is assigned. at the local offices, the application is only processed. you can, however, try to go back a few days later and ask if a number has been assigned to you and then you could get a print out. then you can take that to the DMV and apply for a ID. you just need to know your SSN number and not actually have the card with you when you go to the DMV. remember to look up what you need in order to apply for a ID or DL. the requirements will vary from state to state and some state will not issue either to DACA applicants.

Some Help For Daca Applicants Whose Application Process Has Exceeded Estimated Waiting Period.

hmmmm, wonder if this is the same as a service request or something above a service request and what the response time is. -
so, i live in CA and i have never been asked for ID just because i look hispanic. i've also traveled (by plane cross country and with in the state of CA) many times with no problems. as long as she has a valid passport and the name on her passport matches exactly the name on the plane ticket, she'll have no problems flying. unless she is going through customs, which i assume she isnt, then she will not encounter USCIS or ICE agents. she will see TSA agents as those are the ones who do the security screening and such. also having a direct flight usually helps so that she doesnt have to worry about connecting flights and all that.

I'm Curious About My Case? Thanks
pswa83 replied to Rickyerique's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
usually after the card is mail, there will be a tracking number on your case status online. if you have been approved, and it seems that you have, then check to see if that tracking number is there. if it is, click on it and it will let you know where your card is. they mail it from KY so once it's mailed you should receive it with 3 to 5 days but it can take as long as 30. -
i agree that this whole plan may take months on end, the Super 8 is hoping to have, i guess, something (maybe a little more defined outline) by the end of march. or at least that is what i keep hearing. let's see what march has in store.

i do believe that it should be a case by case basis. however, after i certain age, ( i think it's about 8 to 10) one needs to be accountable for their actions. whether a person is over the age of 21 or under the age of 21 and gets a DUI, should know better regardless of age. i also think those who are already "in-line" and have no criminal record should be processed in front of those who may have a record. serious criminal records should exclude those from applying for CIR. the one thing i do not agree with is the whole "back taxes" aspect of CIR. i mean, for those who have worked, whether under a false SSN or paid in cash, they should pay taxes, (if they haven't already). but for those who havent worked, why should those be punished for not breaking the law?

if your I-765 is still under review then most likely your I-821D is still under review as well.

"will You Now Or In The Future Require Sponsorship?"
pswa83 replied to surferdudejoe56's topic in Resume/Job Help
you would answer No because as long as your EAD is valid, then you are able to work in the US without needing to be sponsored. -
Anybody On This Forum Got Denied Deferred Action? Why
pswa83 replied to ERIC's topic in Dream Lounge
oh, i agree. i had like a 2 month gap in my paperwork and i was going to send it in just like that and my grandpa threw a fit. he wouldnt let me mail it in until we found something for those 2 months. i guess some people think that maybe USCIS doesnt really pay attention to the evidence we send it and all that. or they think that if they got in trouble with the law when they were younger that it might not show up now just because they're older. those who got denied, for what ever reason, pretty much just gave the government $465 for nothing. -
Anybody On This Forum Got Denied Deferred Action? Why
pswa83 replied to ERIC's topic in Dream Lounge
not for nothing but i really dont think anyone is going to actually say they were denied. i mean, if i were denied, i wouldnt say anything. also, more then likely, people who are denied, applied knowing that either they didnt meet the requirements for DACA or because they have a serious criminal record. -
i think it would depend on what type of evidence you had to send them. if it was something small then it probably wont take long. but if it's a lot of evidence (like gaps of months or such) then it could take longer.
-
so when asked if you can do something and you reply "oh, yeah, I can do that". make sure you can actually do it before you start. making a diaper cake should be fun...lol

i believe even as a PR, your husband can file an I-130 on your behalf. you can also file for a work permit as well along with the I-130. i think this route would allow you to become a USC after your husband becomes one. i would try and google catholic charities in your area and see if you can get an appt. the only thing i would be concerned about is the possibility of having to leave the US once a visa is available to you. i think in that case, you would be able to file the I-601 and hopefully not have to leave the US to get your visa. but like i said, try to get an appt with catholic charities and see what they say.

i read that too and i'm hoping that what Osha said will be a part of CIR.
