  1. 13-Year Max For Citizenship

in 13 yrs, i'll be 43 (or almost) i think as long as i can work (still have a valid EAD) then i would be fine waiting 13 yrs for full citizenship. however, i am hoping that those already "in line" with either approved I-130 or other approved applications and DACA approved applicants will be processed faster then those just starting off in the immigration process. i would be really pissed off if someone who has only been in this country for 5 yrs were places in the same "line" as i would. i wouldnt understand that "fairness" in that. just my 2 cents.

  4. Read Pleaseee

i dont think so if you're with in the 4 to 6 month wait period because what they will tell you is just to wait. after 6 months you can put in a service request and ask about the status of your case.
  5. Sleep Paralysis! :/

OMG, yes. it's happened to me a few times. usually when i'm nervous or anxious about something. but yeah, it feels like someone is holding you down and you cant move, you can hear everything around you. with me too, i cant open my eyes. like they're glued shut or something. the first time, it happened, it freaked me out, i woke up yelling and my mom came running into my room and scared because she didnt know what was going on. it hasnt happened to me in quite a while, which i'm happy about, lol maybe this has some insight about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis
  6. What Does "walk-In" Mean?

Walk-in means that someone went ahead of their scheduled bios appt. basically if one's appt was scheduled for , let's say, March 20th, 2013, and they "walked-in" on February 28th, 2013. the process would be the same as it would be on your scheduled appt but you would just be doing it earlier. some have said it makes a difference is terms of how fast your application is processed and others say it makes no difference. if your appointment is next week, i would just wait it out till then. remember to take you bios letter, valid ID (passport, student ID, etc) with you to the appointment. you will also need your receipt numbers for the I-821D and I-765. they should be on the bottom of your bios letter but if they are not then i would take your 1st two letters with you as well. the whole bios process doesn't take that long. you'll walk in, give your bios letter and ID to the guard. then fill out the basic form the guard gives you, give it back to the guard. wait for your name to be called, shortly after, you'll have your fingerprints, photo and you'll give your signature as well. after this, the person will give you a survey form, fill it out, drop it in the box and you're done. don't be nervous, and make sure that your hands are in good condition. lol

i forgot about work purposes. good looking out Santi
  10. Bill Would Set An 8-Year Path To Residency

with DACA, one can only apply for AP because of illness (in terms of someone in the family is very ill and is going to die), death (and they need to attend the funeral) educational purposes (study somewhere over seas) or humanitarian reason. In all of these cases, paperwork will need to be provided. doctors note saying a person is dying. or a death certificate in order to attend a funeral. letter from the school, stating you are studying overseas. once applied and approved for AP, the AP will only be good for a certain time frame and it would be VERY important to make sure that one would be back in the US before the expiration date of their AP. also, returning to the US with AP may or may not cause a problem when going through Customs. Seeing how DACA approved applicants still do not have legal status in the US, we can be barred from entering the US even with AP. This would cause the 3 to 10 year ban to go into affect. all that being explained, i would ask a lawyer about it. applying for AP does cost more money and it would suck to apply and pay for it and then not get approved.
  11. Bill Would Set An 8-Year Path To Residency

ah, gotcha. wondering how DACA approved applicants are going to be processed in this whole thing. i read, that we wont be processed the same as other but they never said how...WTH!!!
  12. Bill Would Set An 8-Year Path To Residency

    I-131?? what is that form?
  13. Bill Would Set An 8-Year Path To Residency

of course they would discredit it if they didnt come out with it themselves. it doesnt seem any different then what the President has been saying for the past month or so.
  14. Is There A Dead Line For Applying?

you send all your evidence with your applications. if USCIS wants more, then they with send you a RFE letter. (request for evidence)
  15. Is There A Dead Line For Applying?

no. the "expiration" date on the DACA application just means that USCIS can update the application after that date. all USCIS applications have an "expiration" date on them.
  16. Walk-In In Phoenix

my last name was spelled wrong too and i called before my bios. then at bios just made sure they had it spelled the right way and they did.
  17. Job Application Visa Questions

i would say mark no because even though our EAD is only valid for 2 yrs, we're able to renew it. there for we wouldnt need an employer to sponsor us.

  19. Travelling Out Of The States

no. you must apply for and be granted Advanced Parole first. you must have a reason to leave such as educational purpose, serious family illness, humanitarian reasons. you will also need to provide paperwork for the reason in which you want to leave when you submit your application for Advanced Parole.
  20. This Is Too Long :\

honestly, calling will not do much. there are still people from September still waiting.
  21. Social Security Administration

seeing how i didnt have a DL yet, my mom drove me. lol but i took my EAD, valid passport, approval letters and the flyer from the SSA website about DACA applicants applying for a SSN. http://ssa.gov/pubs/deferred_action.pdf i was in and out in about 30 mins. got there when it opened.
  22. Feeling Guilty :(

i dont think its about feeling guilty, it's more about frustration about not being able to find a job. but that's a downside of living in a small town. hang in there, you'll find something soon and you'll be on your way to being that productive person you want to be.
  23. i left the job that i had before DACA just because i didnt want to have to explain my situation but got a job shortly after that and then got my dream job shortly after that...lol
  24. ok, so, personal opinion here, i think that this outline for CIR works. i mean, i filed my 1st petition with USCIS back in 2001 and have filed a few since then as my case has "progressed" with DACA being my most recent petition. going to sound totally selfish here but, if done this way, people such as myself, who have USC relatives and are DACA applicants shouldnt have to wait in line with everyone else. I've filed papers to gain legal status the right way and paid so much money, why should i have to wait years, upon the 12 yrs i've already waited, to gain legal status? i shouldnt!! this CIR isnt a blanket amnesty as like it was in the 80s. this is a more defined outline with more requirements for those seeking legal status. pretty much the major requirement in the 80s was having to be in the US before 1982. if that were the case now, let's say since 2000, many would be able to qualify regardless if they've tired to gain legal status the correct way.
  25. Question About Banking!

i know back in 2005 when i first open my bank account with WaMu, all i used was my valid passport. then this time around when i switched banks to BofA, i used my SSN and DL.
