every USCIS application date has an expiration date such as those pointed out by JoseG. this does not mean that this is the "deadline" in order to send in the application. it just means that after that date, a new version of the application could be available or not. most of the time, old versions of application can still be used until USCIS says otherwise. a new version of the I-601 will be available in march and will be the I-601A. i wouldnt take much time to worry about whether there is a deadline for DACA. if there was one, a real one i mean, that info would have already come out by now by USCIS and no one else.

i would like to know how they are going to process DACA approved applicants. it's been said that DACA approved applicants will not be process the same way as others but they never say how we will be processed. GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS, DANG IT!!!

How Long Is It Taking For Your Ead Cards To Arrive?
pswa83 replied to Lebam's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
yes, it should take a few days after your EAD is mailed for you to get it. with the SSN, it all depends on who you get at the SSA office. some people have been given a hard time because the people at the SSA office dont know how to process DACA applicants and others have been told to wait 10 days in order for their EAD to show up in the system. but once your application is approved and processed, it should take between 7 and 14 business days for you to get it. could take shorter or longer. -
i believe the way the Dream Act is written now (and we'll see what happens this coming week) the education requirement is that one has at least an AA and are in the process of obtaining their Bachelors or already have their Bachelors degree. Found this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DREAM_Act

When Going To Apply For Ssn How Much Do They Charge!?
pswa83 replied to Ronny17's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
it's free. just go to the SSA office and apply for one. take your EAD, passport (if you have one) and your approval letter and you should be fine. -
it shouldnt. the process starts after you've done your bios. just make sure that when you call you let them know about both the 2 letters and that you've already taken your bios on the date the first letter stated. you should also have the 1st letter stamped from your bios appt.

in CA, you could have gone to community college or a junior college and paid in state tuition if you attended a CA hs for 3 yrs and graduated from that hs. i did and i emailed the Admissions Office of the community college i went to and they said i could enroll and just needed to have the Dean of Admissions sign off on it and she did. saved me A LOT of money that way because i would have to pay the international student tuition and that (at the time) was soooo much money. you're not dumb or anything for not knowing that you could have gone to school. honestly if it wasnt for my grandpa pushing me to go to school, i probably wouldnt have...lol i graduated with a double major in criminal justice and criminal psychology. with a minor in psychology. it took me 6 yrs but that's because i had to work full time and had to pay for everything (school wise) i do feel a little accomplished because i finished school and am the 1st in my immediate family to have a college degree. i'm happy now that i have a job where my education comes into play a little but hopefully in september i'll start my Masters Degree

try filling out the english FAFSA yourself and then just converting the currency over. i know my brother use to fill out the FAFSA himself without having my mom help him.

cool. my bday is in june. i graduated college in december of 2011. after i graduated my bank statements were really the only solid thing i had. had some hospital log records from when my grandma had her stroke last year and some paycheck. i totally thought it was going to take a LOT longer to get approved. i was in the car when i got the text saying my case had been updated, went online to check it and screamed. totally hurt my moms ears...lol i think all the stuff you're going to send should be good.

do you want the form in spanish or in english? this is the FAFSA link in spanish: http://www.fafsa.ed....es_ES/index.htm and this is the link in english: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ most of the answers that you're looking for will be on your parents W2s (if they filed taxes) also looking at the forms you download, i dont think those are for the FAFSA that is filed here in the US. this is what the US FAFSA form looks like: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/fotw1314/pdf/PdfFafsa12-13.pdf

if you do, i would write the same info that is on the envelope they provided. like the address and all that
-
i would call USCIS and tell them you received one letter stating that your bios appt was on Jan 22 but then you received a second one. more then likely, they will tell you to disregard the 2nd one if you've already done your bios.

it's ok, just dont let it happen again...lol...jk i've tried and i think because of the date my I-130 was approved (after i turned 21), it doesnt apply to me. i think the only thing that CSPA does besides freezes the age of the applicant, is protect them from paying the $1000 fine when they are able to AOS. i think now that i have a great job that pays well, money isnt really an issue like it was before. i'm saving money so whether CIR happens or if down the road i'm able to AOS, i'll be ok money wise.

so my mom is a USC but because she became a USC after i turned 21, a visa is not available for me until my priority is current with NVC. what happens to someone's petition after they turn 21 is that they get put into categories. there are 4 different ones. Mexico being the one that is the most backlogged. i thought about filing the I-130 again but my lawyer said it wouldnt do any good because of my age. i would be in the same position i am now. the "immediate relative" only applies to those UNDER 21 because they are still considered "children". i've already come to the understanding that it's completely beyond my control. i've been to so many layers about all this and only one was able to come up to a solution. i could have applied for something called Family Unity, which are for children of those who were granted amnesty in the 80s, like my mother did. however, i had to get evidence from may of 1985 and i was only 2 back then.its pretty much like DACA, but the category on the EAD is different.

i'm in the USCIS system because in 2001, my mother filed the I-130 petition for me. that only establishes the relation between the petitioner (my mother) and the beneficiary (myself). then when the petitioner becomes a USC and if the beneficiary is still under the age of 21, the beneficiary can adjust their status. my mom didnt become a USC till i turned 22. so i was then put in the F1 category with the National Visa Center (NVC). the NVC is barely working on cases from 1993 in that category. so one needs to wait until the NVC is currently when their priority date (when USCIS received their I-130) before one can adjust their status. at this rate, i still have another 12 to 14 yrs to wait if Immigration reform isnt passed. like i said, the immigration system is complicated and even more so if your over 21 like myself. the way the Dream Act (not DACA) is written now, i am still too old to apply (if it had passed) even though i have a double major and graduated college with honors. not mad, promise. just get frustrated that there's still a lot of people who think that Immigration is a black and white issue. that is one wants to be here legally all they need to do is file papers and pay fees and BOOM. it's not that easy but i wish it was...lol

if there is a work permit out there with my name on it (other then one that i have) i would certainly like to know. just because my mother, who at the time was a PR, filed the I-130 on my behalf, doesnt mean that i gained legal status in any way. my mother became a USC in 2005 after i turned 21, which puts me in the F1 category. Also, this does not mean that i gain any legal status or have a visa available to me. PLEASE, do not make any assumptions on things or cases you do not know anything about.

the estimated wait time is 4 to 6 months. the processing time starts after your bios. USCIS only works Monday thru Friday. Every case is different as well as every Service Center. there will be those who are approved soon after their bios and those who wait longer. it's important to not compare your case to others because every case is different.

Dream Act Processing Time, Ssn,dl/id Info, For All Californians
pswa83 replied to Josh2525's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
Hi.... Ok, now I understand your case. yeah, your case is different then mine, as mine is is a Relative Petition. With that case, I was given an application number and not an alien number only. So, with that petition, i am still not able to AOS or apply for a SSN or DL. In regards to DACA, I've already been approved and have been since November. Since then I've already gotten my DL and state ID and pretty much everything else I wanted. -
yeah. unfortunately, waiting is the name of the game when it comes to dealing with USCIS. just try to occupy your time with other things and just think that no news is good news. also, there are people on this forum that are in the same situation, no matter what stage your case is in, that you can always chat with.
