  1. College Application Help :) Thanks

some school will have private scholarships that you might be able to apply for. I know in CA, i was allowed to pay in state tuition before DACA because i attended and graduated from a CA high school. it all depends on what state you live in and what is available. the best thing to do is to talk to the financial aid department at the school your attend or want to attend.
  2. Question?

if someone had my exact name, ooohhhh, that would be so weird. besides my sister and my mom (before she changed her name when she became a USC) i dont know anyone else that has my last name. but then again, i dont know everyone in the world. LOL. Almejo by not be a common name but Moreno is
  3. a 3rd term is very unlikely!!!! i would LOVE to see Madeleine Albright be President!! never going to happen but that woman is AWESOME!!!
  4. the hardship waiver itself has been in place since 1961 when it started as only for those who were on a student exchange program in the US. meaning that one would have been on a student visa at the time and then married a USC. since that time, the hardhsip waiver has been expanded to include those who are not on student visas. however the process is still the same. once a visa becomes available to the beneficiary, he/she would have and still would need to leave the US, go back to their home country, go to the US Consulate and obtain their visa there. what this 'new" rule/law does, is shorten the time that one has to be out of the US in order to obtain their visa. also, what it does is waives, the ban that one would have incurred in leaving the US in going back to their home country, i do also know the the 245(i) that you speak of. however, that is not an amnesty either. what the 245(i) does is for those who filed an I-130 petition before April 30, 2001, they do not have to leave the US if and when a visa becomes available to them. this is completely different from the hardship waiver.
  5. you're welcome and also USCIS has 90 days to make a decision on your work permit AFTER they approve your Deferred Action.
  6. 114 Days To Respond To A Rfe??!!!

i dont think he is going to wait the whole 114 days in order to send his stuff in. think he was more surprised at the amount of time USCIS gave in order to respond to the RFE.
  7. the process starts not after you send in your application but after you've done your biometerics. USCIS does not work on weekends or holidays. so it's only been 24 workdays since your bios. from the general time frames USCIS has put out, 4 to 6 months is the general guideline.
  8. yeah, that's why i meant...lol i'm over 21 and not married but my mom is a USC. so it still doesnt apply to me maybe i'll go find a bum to marry...lol
  9. lol. i just hope that it gets expanded to those over 21 as well.
  10. lunch was fun...back to work for another 5 hrs!!!

  11. Dream Act Approval???

i think and am hopeful that Immigration Forum somehow will pass, i think its just a matter of when and how it's compared to the one that failed in 2010
  12. whether rule or law, my point was and still is that it has been in place for some time and is NOTHING new.
  13. Dream Act Approval???

there is no real answer to that. the fiscal cliff and gun control are hot topics right now.
  14. i thought there were 4 as well, however, the other day (just for fun) i decided to google it just for fun. it turns out that there are 5 service centers, with Missouri being the 5th. however, the MO service center is not processing DACA applications.
  15. true true Rawf. it seems like the centers switch off on who works faster. lol
  16. 114 Days To Respond To A Rfe??!!!

3.5 months. that's about average time. they just want to make sure you have enough time to get what you have to get and send it back.
  17. 114 Days To Respond To A Rfe??!!!

from what i know, there are different time frames for different things. with the EAD (no matter what how you filed for it), you have 180 days to respond to any changes or if USPS sends it back to USCIS.
  18. Graduate School As A Daca Recipient

i looked into it before i applied for DACA. i think i will go back to the school i received my double bachelors from and see what they say about it. i know that i can attend the school and as a return student, admissions is certain, i just hope that the financial aspect of it will be a little easier. but when i go and talk to them, i'll post a topic about it.
  19. Patience is not the ability to wait. Waiting is a fact of life. Patience is the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.

  20. Biometrics Appointment?

who did you have send in your application? and did you get copies of everything they sent?
  21. Tax Credits

i dont think so. this is what i found online at the USCIS website. Q8: If my case is deferred, will I be eligible for premium tax credits and reduced cost sharing through Affordable Insurance Exchanges starting in 2014? A8: No. The Departments of Health and Human Services and the Treasury intend to conform the relevant regulations to the extent necessary to exempt individuals with deferred action for childhood arrivals from eligibility for premium tax credits and reduced cost sharing. This is consistent with the policy under S. 3992, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2010.
  22. 2 more days till i go back to work...WOO HOO!!!

    1. walty

  23. After Obama's Inaguration...

hopefully that it will happen but with the fiscal cliff still not completely worked out and gun "control" on the "to-do" list before immigration reform, think it will be pushed back a little
