Jan Brewer Bars IDs, Benefits for Undocumented Immigrants in Arizona
pswa83 posted a topic in Dream Act News
ok, so i know i posted about this already but just reading what this woman says makes me laugh because she is so stupid. in this article, she has that "they will issue employment authorization cards to those people who apply, but "they will not be entitled to a driver's license nor will they be entitled to any public benefits." i think it's funny for a few reasons: 1.) getting a work permit is NOT a state issue. you are granted on by the FEDERAL government. she's acting like she is personally going to hand out work permits to DACA applicants. 2.) i have looked up what Arizona requires one to provide in order to apply for a DL. here's the link. http://mvd.azdot.gov/mvd/formsandpub/viewPDF.asp?lngProductKey=1410&lngFormInfoKey=1410 Note that under the 1st second is says, a USCIS EAD. and under the 2nd section is list a SSN which DACA applicants will have both if approved. Come on lady and just admit that you have lost already!! we all know it and you trying to be a bullying and stop us from what we can legally and lawfully get is and will always be a violation of our civil rights as DREAMERS!!! -
saw this on FB today and thought about some people who asked about it a while back ago. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/immigrant-uses-xbox-live-record-gain-residency-161132877.html?fb_action_ids=4674947595023%2C4672259167814%2C4669146489999%2C4669142529900%2C4669120649353&fb_action_types=news.reads&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%7B%224674947595023%22%3A320588614710855%2C%224672259167814%22%3A552106238143826%2C%224669146489999%22%3A480140508706015%2C%224669142529900%22%3A442784952465000%2C%224669120649353%22%3A557426400946529%7D&action_type_map=%7B%224674947595023%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%224672259167814%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%224669146489999%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%224669142529900%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%224669120649353%22%3A%22news.reads%22%7D&action_ref_map=%5B%5D

New Uscis Data Show How Daca Delays Decisions In Other Programs
pswa83 posted a topic in Dream Act News
came across this article today and think it's completely stupid considering that they want who ever reads it to believe that this is true. there is ONLY a 2 month overlay from the time DACA started. thought anyone?? http://cis.org/north/new-uscis-data-show-how-daca-delays-decisions-other-programs -
saw this on the new this morning. thought it would be important because it regards taxes. http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/01/03/tax-filing-delayed-fiscal-cliff

ok, so myabe this is how i am interpeting the "new" law but here's what i understand it to be. this DOES NOT shorten the time that the I-601 (hardship waiver) is approved. the average wait time for the I-601 to be approved is about 6 months. what this "new" law does IS shorten the wait time outside of the US for a visa. If approved then beneficiary will still need to leave the US but SOME will only need to be out of the country for a week. some longer, some shorter. the hardship waiver petition is not difficult to fill out, however, it is hard to prove, to the laws and standards, the USCIS sets. (when i have done enough research on the laws and standards, i will make another post) i believe that if one is denied the hardship waiver then they will probably have to find a different way of not having to leave the country. one of my concerns, is if a visa needs to be immediately available to the beneficiary in order for them to apply for the hardship waiver. please, dont get me wrong, i think that this may be a good thing, especially to those who can apply for it, however, i think a little more research into it is needed to know for sure if it will and can benefit those who do apply.

For those of you asking or wondering if you can fill out the I-765 form ahead of time. PLEASE READ THIS before doing so. http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD This link is from the USCIS website and states that those applying for DACA can NOT use the I-765 form that is available. A new version of the I-765 form will be available on the 15th along with the DACA app. Hope this helps!! Happy reading

Ok, so I thought I would start a post about what we, as DACA applicants, have done since we have been approved. I know that there are still a lot of people waiting to get approved and this is not meant to make them sad but to show them that, even if, we as DACA applicants, may not have legal status, we can still be productive people. Here's my experience: Before DACA, all I could do was work minimum wage jobs (for a short time) and just try to get by with what I had. I lived with my mother and my sister and stayed home pretty much most of the time. It was depressing know that my sister and brother could do what ever they wanted and I couldnt. Sitting at home day after day sucked big time!!! After I sent in my applications, I started to look for jobs that I knew I could do and would just hope that my past job experience was good enough to at least get my foot in the door. I was approved a week after my bio (yes, i know it was fast. took me off guard). After I was approved, I got my SSN, DL and State ID and more importantly, I got a job. To be able to get up every day (well, monday thru friday) and get ready for work is a feeling of accomplishment. And a feeling of usefulness. I finally feel like I am a person. Not just a living person but a person on paper too. To show my DL, is like showing someone a golden ticket. Like "yes, that is me and i am a person". But in finally having all this there is a sense of responsibility that comes along with all of this. The responsibility of showing America that we are not the free-loading people that some make us out to be. And we are not here to just have "anchor babies". That we are of use, not only to our families but the America as a whole. That we do not want to be given (ok, maybe a little) amnesty but at least given the chance to become as American as we feel. I have been in the country all my life. 29 years. (yes, i know, i'm old, lol) and throughout my years I have heard talked about Immigration Reform to only never see it go anywhere. I honestly and truly hope that 2013 is our year and that those who doubt us will have those doubts wiped away in the coming years. “There is a significant moral difference between a person who commits a violent crime and a person who tries to cross a border illegally in order to put food on the family table. Such migrants my violate our laws against illicit entry, but if that's all they do they are trespassers, not criminals. They deserve to have their dignity respected.” ― Madeleine Albright, Memo to the President Elect LP: How We Can Restore America's Reputation and Leadership

if you are in CA, then there is the Dream Act for undocumented students. in order to qualify you will have needed to have attended a CA high school for 3 years and have had graduated from a CA high school. you will also need to go to the admissions office of the school you want to attend (has to be a CA juco or cc or univesity) and have the admissions office verify your AB540 status before you can enroll and pay in-state tuition. you can also apply for the BOG wavier which should take care of your tuition. you can also rent textbooks from Chegg.com or other sites and that will help with the cost of books as well.

Left Usa 2007, Obtained Visa B-2, Residing In The Us With Permit Is Dream Act Still Possible?
pswa83 replied to salomondiaz's topic in General Discussions
i dont think you'll be able to apply because you left the US in 2007 and were gone till 2011. one of the requirements, and it's important, is to prove residency in the US from june 2007 to june 2012 (f not later) since you were gone for the majority of that time, you will be denied -
Is There A Loophole Around The Arizona Driver's Licenses Ban?
pswa83 replied to Francisco94's topic in Dream Act Questions & Answers
if you have family in CA, i would go there to get a DL. they dont ask for address verification or anything like that. all you need is your EAD and to know your SSN. dont need to show the actual SSN card. you would just use your family's CA address and you'd be good to go. that way when you do go back to AZ and if you get stopped while driving, you just say that you're visiting. from what i understand, there are no loopholes in the AZ law. the DMV will look at your EAD to verify the category and if they see that it say "33" like it does on our EADs then they will deny you a DL/ID, no matter what DMV office you go to.
