  1. Request for Further Evidence. it means that USCIS wants more evidence of something and yes, people have been approved about they were sent a RFE
  2. true. 8 yrs is a long time. i've been waiting since 2001 when my mother filed a relative petition for me.
  3. just that common last names tend to create mix ups, especially within the immigration system. i mean other then my sister, i dont know anyone personally that has my last name
  4. common last names such as garcia, gonzales, lopez, flores, ramirez, etc
  5. i dont think that is true. i came to the US illegally (mother walked over the border back in the 80s) and i was approved a week after my bio. i've heard that common last names maybe a factor in the slow process. i mean, i believe the majority of applicants, not all, are from hispanic/latino backgrounds. i also think that we can chit chat about what may or may not be holding up the process but unless we're USCIS, then we'll never really know why there are delays and computer errors, etc....
  6. i dont know if a walk-in speeds up the process. there are some who have been approved who have done walk-in and there are some who have done walk-ins and are still waiting. in regards to traveling aboard, that is what Advanced Parole is for, however, seeing how DACA is a new process and any leave from the US could result in being barred from re-entry to the US, it is best to consult a lawyer about it or wait until there is more information about it available.
  7. What's an infopass?!

did the letter say what for? an InfoPass is basically a confirmed appointment that you schedule to go to a USCIS office (not the same offices where your biometrics where done). you will be able to talk to an actual person about your case and find out some information but how much information i am not sure about.
  8. yes, that is where it is being processed
  9. no, it is not the same building. the fingerprints are then sent to the Service Center where your application was sent after you sent it to the Lockbox. Once sent to the Service Center, then the process of your papers getting looked at starts.

  13. USCIS Enlace!

i think i good question to ask, if someone can, is why there seem to be computer errors in the process. online status saying a person has been approved when they havent. i mean this is not fair for those who are still waiting. getting their hopes up and excited just to find out it was a computer error.
  14. sounds like a computer error. you should have gotten the bio appt letter about a week after your first 2 letters. i would call back and explain how long it has been and that you have yet to take your biometrics.

  16. can we work for the government with EAD?

city jobs and things like that, i would think unless otherwise stated, you would be able to. i know Government jobs like FBI, or anything like that, you cant. I also know that applying for the police department is off limits as well as most department want you to be a citizen or a PR in the process of becoming a citizen.
  17. Nevada Grants DL to Dreamers

    awesome!!!!
  18. i was just thinking about the section where it ask if you ever used any other names.... not putting down that you have is lying and then there's the lying about your name in the first place when you got caught. USCIS will found out and then it's just a matter of what they will do.
  19. honestly, if you lied about any point in the process, whether it was when you got caught or when you applied for DACA, your name and fingerprints will come up. now, seeing how you used a false name, the process for you might take longer as the issue will need to be sorted out. there is the chance that you will be denied because upon further investigation, USCIS will cross your fingerprints with those that were taken and the fact that you used a false name will be an issue. if you do get denied, then you do not have a chance to appeal the decision. now i dont know for a fact that you will get denied but just prepare yourself for that fact.

  21. right?? i just dont see why the number of approved applicants or even the process has slowed down. the article only explains why the NUMBER OF APPLICANTS has slowed.
  22. good article however, i think that this article relates to the slow down of the number of applicants and not the process of the application itself. if the number of applicants has slowed, why hasn't the number of approved DACA applicants raised? wouldnt that make more agents available to have applications looked at that are already filed? i dont expect answers to this questions, just thinking out loud i guess. :-/
  23. sooo cant wait to go back to work on Monday!!! :)

  24. Explanations please :(

maybe. when you get the physical card, it will say “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION." but it probably says that because, just because you get a SSN, it doesnt mean your allowed to work. that is what the EAD is for
