On your late 20s and waiting longer thn you think??
pswa83 replied to Gino10's topic in Dream Lounge
i dont think age does matter. i mean i'm 29 and have been approved already. there are a few others who are in the late 20s that have been approved so far as well. your case is process as it is received. it's not put in a pile by age or country of birth or anything like that. it sucks that there is no rhyme or reason to the process and it does suck that it takes so long to get approved. if it's been after 30 days, then you can file an e-request to find out the status of your case. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do -
try doing an e-request. it will let you know if your case is still within the processing time. if it says that it's pass the processing time then you can file an e-request to find out the status of your case but if its not then all you can do it wait. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

i dont want to scare you with what i'm going to say but here it is. it could have something to do with your fingerprints from before. now whether the actually charge of "entering w/o inspection" is dropped is a question but also the fact that your fingerprints are in the USCIS and CBP system, it could have thrown up a flag. Once your fingerprints are in the system, they are always in the system. my mother has been in the immigration system since the late 70's. being patient is hard, trust me. i'm sooo impatient myself. something else you can do is file an e-request with USCIS. maybe that would help too because you dont get much info from the customer service number. here is the link for the r-request. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

i have wells fargo and a secured cc through them. for me, i put a deposit of 500 but only use no more then 30% of my $500 limit. i found that knowing that i have a limit helps me keep on track with my cc. i only use 30% of my limit because the credit bureaus look at how responsible you use the line of credit on your card. i use my cc for small things, like gas or lunch, then pay it off fully every month.

maybe being caught back in 2001 may have something to do with it. maybe? when you were caught, what happened? did they send you back to mexico?
-
i dont think every country's consulate gives out ID cards like the mexican consulate does. different countries, different ways

both my car and the insurance are under my mom's name. it's a little bit of a bummer that it has to be that way but when i was looking at the cost of insurance, it was running about $400 - $500 A MONTH just for me.

1.) the passport photo size is 2"x2". if you go to walgreens or rite-aid, you can have them done there. 2.) in order to apply, you do not need a passport. your translated birth certificate will be fine. however, you will need a government issued ID from your country for your biometrics appt. 3.) i have heard of people translating their own BCs. exactly how they do it, i'm not sure. i had mine done online for around $35. 4.) you wont need to provide a copy of your ticket for breaking curfew. it might show up when USCIS runs your fingerprints. it's really minor, so yo should be fine when you apply. 5.) you should send in as much paperwork as you have. anything that has your name and address on it will due. with the bank statements, i sent in just the first page that has my name and address and account info. do you have anything before october 2007? school records? medical records? if you dont, there could be the possibility of you either getting a RFE or denied. a RFE will give you the chance to send in more evidence but sending in as much evidence as you can when you first apply will reduce the chance of you getting a RFE. hope that answers all your question. good luck

the cost of school is scary. i've already graduated from college (with a double major) but i had to pay for it myself. in CA, those who graduated from a CA high school qualify for in state tuition but with books and travel cost and everything else, it doesnt come out cheap. i qualified for some scholarships and they do help because everything little bit helps but there are ways of paying for school. it took me 7 yrs because i did have to pay for it myself but i did it and hopefully soon i can use my major.

did a little research and this is what is defined to be a HB1 visa: The H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H). It allows US employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status to another non-immigrant status, find another employer (subject to application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or leave the US. The regulations define a "specialty occupation" as requiring theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge in a field of human endeavor[1] including but not limited to architecture, engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, social sciences, biotechnology, medicine and health, education, law, accounting, business specialties, theology, and the arts, and requiring the attainment of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent as a minimum[2] (with the exception of fashion models, who must be "of distinguished merit and ability").[3] Likewise, the foreign worker must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and state licensure, if required to practice in that field. H-1B work-authorization is strictly limited to employment by the sponsoring employer. so, what i am gathering from this info is that one would need to be highly skilled in their area of employment and have a employer willing to sponsper their visa. also the visa is valid for 3 yrs but can be extended to 6 yrs but is also limited to the term of their employment. if one wanted to extend their HB1 visa past 6 yrs, one must leave the US for a year before being able to reapply for the HB1 visa. i would think once one wants to change their status, if possible, they should consulate with a good immigration lawyer.

i would think that if that's the only question that they are asking, then check NO and send it back. if they think that she didnt send enought evidence then they could send her another RFE but you will not know until they actually send it.
-
its hard to say really. hopefully you wont have to wait too long but if its more then 2 weeks til you get it, then i would call again.
-
as much as i would LOVE to travel to Europe, i think for the time being i'll just travel where i can and be safe

your welcome thinking the only difference might be when it comes to biometrics. we may not have to pay the $85 again because we already did it. fingers crossed

i'm pretty sure that USCIS will come up with how to re-apply. but i think it will be pretty much the same process that we went through now. but we wont know until probably about a year or a year and a half from now when most of us will need to apply again. normally when re-applying for an EAD, it it suggested that one re-apply 120 days before your old one expires. but seeing how our EADs are in connection with DACA, then the process may be a little different. the applications most likely be the same as they are now.

depends on when it gets mailed. mine took about 8 days because it was mailed right before the weekend.. if its already mailed then you probably should get it this week or early next week at the latest
-
in terms of getting your EAD? a few days once it is mailed.

OK, i finally thought of something. maybe a private IM box so that you could IM other users without having to email them?
