  1. Guess I'm lucky I have health insurance already! :-\
  2. Help!

Also, USCIS may just ask for the passport photos when you get your biometrics appts.
  3. Help!

It says on page either 5 or 6 of the instructions for the I-765 that the 2 passport photos are required. I believe it is for the. Paper file the USCIS will have on you. The picture they take during the biometrics appt, will be used for the electronic file and the actually passport photos will be used for the physcial file. Also the picture take at the biometrics appt might be used for your EAD card.
  4. Different Types of I-797

The refernce I used what the uscis website. I just typed in I-797 in the search box and its one of the first few search results.
  5. Deferred action payment form?

for those unable to pay the amount of $465, they can apply for a fee wavier that will need to be filed before one submits the DACA application. There are directions on how to do so on the USCIS website under the section for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
  6. They're not. I think they make making the statement that with the EAD and SSN we will have are accetable when aply for a CA DL or state ID. The states that are saying they won't issue DLs or IDs are thinking that they will be able to tell the difference between our EADs and SSNs as opposed to other immigrants who also have legal presence. It is not like outhar EADs or SSNs will have some big red mark on it that says"illegal" on it.
  7. right. i'm happy that i dont have any scars on my fingers. some say that if you do, it takes longer for your background to get done.
  8. nice post. and i think what is important for people to remember that each case will be looked at one a "case by case" basis. if USCIS determines that the offense one committed as a teenager is a small one, then they will do what they think is correct in that case.
  9. Current Immigration Status

i also put "Unlawful Status: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals by ICE" and so far, they have not sent my application back or said anything about it.
  10. Current Immigration Status

so why doesnt someone just call USCIS and ask??? simple enough and no agruement is needed.
  11. here is a link about getting ready for the biometrics appt. http://www.legallanguage.com/legal-articles/uscis-biometrics/
  12. i read this too and think it's completely stupid that they are suing. they are paid to do their job and if their job states not to deport DACA applicants then that is what need to do. follow orders.
  13. if you believe that you qualify under the requirements, you can apply for DACA. the process for you would be the same process as everyone else. here is the USCIS link for the DACA app. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=05faf6c546129310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=6ca66d26d17df110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD you will need the following applications G-1145: this is so USCIS can notify you when they receive your application I-821D: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Application I-765: Employment Authorization Document I-765WS: EAD Worksheet. then you will need to provide the following information. read this link and it will explain what paperwork you need to send to USCIS with your application. http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/files/form/i-821dinstr.pdf you will also need 2 passport photos for the I-765. (i am sure you know the process for that already) the cost for DACA is $465. $380 for the I-765 and $85 for the biometrics. make out a money order for each of the amounts and make them out to US Department of Homeland Security. remember to read all the instructions step by step. sign the applications and if you can have someone look over them before you send them in. if you have any questions about anything in the process, feel free to ask them here and someone will answer them. good luck
  14. i think they dont realize or dont want to, how much many their state would get. in CA it cost $31 to apply for a DL. so you take $31 times by lets say 200,000 and thats $6,200,000 that the state will get. i know those numbers are just figurative but that's a lot of money.
  15. Have to Point This Out

right. i kind of just want to go over to AZ and apply for one just for the hell of it. lol maybe after i get my CA DL, i will....hahahahahaha
  16. i also have 2 last names but only use one. i put last names on my applcation because that is how it is on my passport.
  17. Have to Point This Out

we can. here's the link http://www.dmv.ca.go...l_info.htm#BDLP soooo happy i live in CA it's the 8th one from the bottom of the list. right before the list of states.
  18. Step 1, down..now just waiting for Step 2 :-/

  19. i signed it. i think it should extend to NE and another state that tries to do the same.
  20. if money wasnt a problem, i would want a white benz with white interior. but on a more down to earth level, either a jeep or jetta but it's gotta be white
  21. nice post. i still get asked that question too
  22. that is way too much to pay. if you can read and follow the instructions then most people can fill out the applications themselves.
  23. Police Record.

Rawf, i dont know who told your friend that but it is not necessary to send in your own criminal record. here in CA, it is called a Live Scan. that is what the $85 is for. USCIS will preform the background. They take not only your finger prints but they take a scan of your whole hand and send it to the FBI.
  24. honestly, i dont think there is something to fear in filing for DACA. i mean for those with expired visas or have filed petition and have gotten no where, if USCIS wanted to come after us, they would have by now. i mean USCIS has had a file on me since 2001 and to this day i have no legal status. they know where i live and yet they havent knocked down my door wanting to haul me off to mexico.
